I get what Slott wanted with Alpha: Max power and max ego. The problem is this archetype is so common and Slott gave him no depth or character journey.
I think the character Clash (Clayton Cole) is a better version of the “Failed Peter” character.
Is this character and story not just a big joke? His name is just two of the actors who played spider man, he has a cookie cutter backstory and letting power rush to his head trope, he also gets defeated by alien tech that just conveniently comes into the story when they need it. I seriously don’t think this character was meant to be taken seriously
Hope not.
The way I think this story should have been was all about Peter projecting his view on Alpha, seeing any minor mistake the kid makes equal to the huge mess ups he made as a teen hero. Peter than takes away Alpha's power only to realize that he was wrong but it's too late to fix things. This would serve well with Slott's theme of Peter being incompetent.
Got good lgtgtfgvgggtglgggfggw
Infinite potential as a reason for being omega level is by far the most simplest concept to mess up in comics. as seen with alpha here just because you can be all powerful doesn't mean you'll have the personality to make you worthy of it. i understand what slott wanted with this character, that being a relatable upper limit for the audience to look at and say they're the strongest. I can understand considering characters like Franklin Richards and Matthew Malloy are this concept done right, but as someone who read his story line and can definitely say it was bad I honestly believe this character is better left forgotten.
☝️☝️☝️Thanks for watching I've got something for you a🎮🎮(ps5)prize..!!
This is where classic comics before the mid-00's were VERY good at. Now, the new writers.......He's stronger than OAA for no reasons lol
I think Kid Omega is done better too
Yeah, I have the potential to destroy the planet if I'm hit with a sufficient amount of anti-mater but it doesn't mean I'll ever reach that potential.
To everyone in the comments
A big reason why Alpha was perceived as a threat in the end was because when he was fighting Terminus he was flying AND using energy blasts, showing that he could use two of his abilities at the same time.
I believe his powers were growing much faster than the other heroes had anticipated and they were afraid of what he could become so they depowered him.
Powers attached to the expansion of the universe are crazy strong, but I dont see how that could trump the Phoenix Force which is the power of all life collectively in the multiverse. We know universes end in Marvel, but the multiverse, generally, lives on forever.
There is slot of dead space in space
Because there's different versions of the Phoenix Force in each universe (like the 1610 Phoenix Force), each of them is on a Universal Level. While the Phoenix Force you're thinking about is the TRUE Phoenix Force that reside outside of the entire multiverse, making it a Outerversal Level. It's similar to Multi-Eternity, who has multiple versions of Eternity in each universe.
But understand that Universal level can sometimes mean Multiversal level since each universe in Marvel is larger than our IRL universe, especially with all the multiple dimensions like the Afterlife (Heaven, Hell and Death's realm), the Microverse and the Nine Realms (where each of them are considered universes).
Well... there're theories about the expansion of the universe... and if Alpha wants max power, he can decrease the density of matter in the universe until it reaches the point in which a Big Rip is inevitable as the end of the universe...
If he manages to do that, he can easily trump over the Phoenix Force because he would be able to basically isolate each particle The Phoenix force can interact with, with him being the only one unaffected because he's directly tied to the Parker Particles, thus making the Phoenix Force irrelevant.
I would imagine theres more space than there is life in the universe
Long time follower, I don't think I've ever commented on any of your videos. I've been watching your channel for years. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate how upbeat and positive you are in your videos. Some content creators are kinda "snarky" or negative. Just basically wanted to say thanks, and that I really enjoy your videos
I personally like the development of his character, this is a prime example of what would happen if a kid had superpowers and chose to use it poorly. like the video where it talks about the rise and fall about a UA-camr
I could just watch the movie Chronicle.
@@heedmywarning2792 Literally
hey man, you're like the only guy I learn comics from and my roommate knows a lot, been subbed to you for a while now, I'd really like to know about duplication powers if that's okay, do you have any video recommendations that you already have?
What do you mean duplication? Like mimicking powers or making clones?
Duplicate Boy from Legion of Superheros comics. Mimic from X-Men cartoons. Those are two off the top of my head.
Hope Summers of the X-men. Read X-men second coming or Avengers vs X-men. I believe he has a playlist on both of the stories.
Rob you should make your videos just the audio for Spotify so I can just listen to you explain comics. It helps me sleep lol
Hey Rob, just to let you know tmnt the last ronin issues two three and four are out. Also could you please cover the boys epilogue and dear Becky
Facts homie & it's good as hell💯
This this this! 1000% yes
I'm in support of this I'm here for it
Maybe theyll play him like the sentry. where when they are up against a corner, they call alpha and ask him to play god, and give him 100% of his power.
So something like the Starbrand.
Would be cool to see him transported to some alternate dimension/realm where he has to constantly fight and unlock alot of his potential, but also learn some humility and being an overall better person.
I love how these characters are marked as omega level, but their abilities are all different. It’s like a lottery.
Well it's once you're able to be a planetary threat, you're omega
And there's alot of ways it could work
@@MrGanjie yeah, using a power armor with lots of guns and a nuke can also make you an alpha level threath :p
@@MrGanjie Thank you for explaining the obvious.
He's the Classic Backburner Character you can always use.
If anyone's wondering, a post below says Rob's in Barcelona. Posted on his Twitter account.
@1:19 He can be seen eating "ditko's" brand cereal, which is (probably) named after Steve J. Ditko, creator of Spider Man (among many other characters).
His power is connected to HIS universe even if it continuously expands it’s still just the power of One universe while the Phoenix force is the conglomerate of all psychic power across infinite realities so how would he be stronger at any point in time ever?
Because writer said so, easy next question
Thats why Batman can defeate anything given enagh prepwork
I think it said in the comic he was more powerful than The Phoenix but not the Phoenix Force. I don't think he said it in the video, and I could very well be wrong.
@@lynxk9372 that’s why Superman can suck on kryptionite and bully Doomsday, same reason how and why The Batman Who Laughs killed the Specter because writer boner go brrrrr
@@PrimeDiam doesn't the white Phoenix have access to the entirety of the Phoenix force?
Its actually the other way round, Alpha is an alpha-level threat and he will grow into a omega-level threat but I doubt he ever was omega level as he lost his powers before they reached that point.
Hello Rob core this is literally the best channel I've used for information on heros and villans accurate entertaining and helpful information alwase
Alpha is an example of a tiktik superhero from this generation for sure
I think Alpha would be a great one, but they need to write more before bringing him in, they need to give him enough notoriety so they can use the MCU storyline effectively, my only concern is that he might be too unknown. His powers being relatively unknown would actually be a benefit to the MCU
I think Alpha could be a great story on how you shouldn't let the power get to your head.
Haven’t heard from you in a little while. I hope all is good Rob. Stay safe. Well wishes from Ohio
Yea hope all is well for him
Thanks for the video Rob!
☝️☝️☝️Thanks for watching I've got something for you a🎮🎮(ps5)prize..!!
Forgive me I don't know what Telegram is.
Haven’t heard of him before. He’s kinda both basic and unique. I like him!
Beyond Omega Level: The Plutonian from Irredeemable. I really liked that comics take on what might happen when a superhero can’t save everyone and makes one mistake.
Also, Netflix is developing a series on it so I imagine we may see you cover it anyway :)
this is prob my favorite series on youtube. keep it up Rob 👌👌👌
Great video. As someone is is largely unfamiliar with Marvel comics, I have a hyperthetical for you Rob. What would happen to the Marvel multiverse if The Beyonder came into contact with the Phoenix Force, and it chose him to be their human avatar?
Also,
•The Void vs The Marquis of Death
•Mr Mxyzptlk vs The Beyonder
•Dr Strange vs Dr Fate
•l
Lex Luther vs Dr. Strange
"Patience, Rob Corp"
This should be said EVERY video!
I definitely don't mind seeing more of him, but I hope his attitude and behavior are changed and he has a more mature mindset.
He'd be the perfect villian for Miles. Peter's first official sidekick vs his Protégé.
I feel like he's a victim of overhyping and under delivering kind of like The Black Winter.
Well said
Finally a comment about the video
It's tell don't show at its worst. People in the universe who are supposed to be authorities declare him to be awesome but there is no evidence at all that he actually is. Then, everyone else needs to fail in embarrassing ways just to make a token effort of illustrating that he's stronger than everyone else.
@@o76923 Exactly this the character does nothing that impressive but characters who know power houses or are power houses, just happen to be too weak or too dense to solve the problem without Alpha.
Ah yea. Alpha. The powerful guy no one remembers.
I completely forgot about him too
Is it just me or does this guy kinda come off as really rushed and not really thought out ? Like I dont see how he can be stronger than the Phoenix force, and tbh I dont like his name or the whole peter particles thing.
I remembered that spider man had a sidekick but I didn't know his name
You could make a list of powerful guys in marvel that were more or less forgotten. He's far from the only guy this happened to.
Hey love the vids man
Rob. Alpha Flight. Please. Thank you brother. Great video.👍🏿
Just like his powers, his story has an infinite potential
Because of how basic and short his story was they can do literally anything to him they just gotta do it right
Example: Speedball
"Kah-non-ik-lee". You're welcome Rob.
A comic with alpha as a guest feature, some odd years in the future should work
Beyond Omega Level: Animal Man
Beyond Omega Level: Mordru
I can think of allot of other characters I'd bring back instead. Hell, I'd rather see WildChild come back and get a comic.
Basically “Franklin Richards at home”
That last name though , Maguire XD!
Beyond Omega Level - John Constantine 😂😂
Beyond Omega/Alpha Level: Anti-Man please Rob.
Hope your doing alright man been a minute
Rob’s the GOAT 🐐
I was JUST thinking about this guy yesterday lmao.
Not nearly beyond omega level, Bob Layton’s epic Hercules run.
Behold: Generic Man! with the power to let Dan Slott go home at 500 when the editor tells him to come up with a new character at 445. He comes with generic powers, a generic story for ripped off the character whose book they appear in, the most generic story arc for how powers give you an ego, and all the tell don't show that you'd get from a 3rd grader describing their OC.
I mean, I realize that the joke is supposed to be that he's basic AF but that's not a very good joke.
Generic man’s greatest ability is to fill the space in the back of a panel. If you want to find him find the omega level threat and look beyond it he’ll be back there either running or pointing.
Beyond omega level: ultimate X-men magician
He did that already
He did that
I remember this comic a couple years back and I’ve been trying to find it
Beyond omega level
MIMIC
MIMIC is a badass and still no RobCorps appreciation...
Omggg I never thought he'd do him
Beyond Omega Level: Popeye the Sailor Man
Beyond Omega Level: Rob Jefferson and Ben Parker 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Make it so!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is a new character to me
Hey Rob, are there any Ghost Rider storylines worth going over? He's a cool character but I'm not very familiar with any storyline.
Would love to see a full story of Annihilation also.
So he's Ultra Boy from the Legion of Superheroes with a few more powers huh lol
So much shade in this video. Love it
Not gonna lie when I read the title I thought you were gonna do a video of alpha from the power rangers lmaooo
FOR JEDI ACOLYTE 26:
ROB JEFFERSON, HEAR OUR CRY CHARACTER EXPLAINED/ MAMMOTH MOGUL(ARCHIE), DURGE(STAR WARS), ENERJAK(ARCHIE)
Let me sing you the song of my people
"ONE PUUUUNCH!!!"
I feel like you should do a beyond omega level of Black Bolt, since he has appeared in movies. The character is easely a huge power house at his full power and before the many nerfs of the last comics. And it would maybe make you like the character, which would be nice
....clearly you don't know Rob's thoughts on Black Bolt haha.
That What If issue where he was paired with Dazzler was fun since she turned everyone of his screams into basically planet-killer blasts.
YES FINALLY THANKS ROB
Pls do an updated franklin Richard’s beyond omega level
Oh come on, after ALPHA? You GOTTA do a video on SLAPSTICK. He’s my favorite and sooooo deserves more exposure.
Also it would be BOMB if he showed up in the MCU.
Heck Yeah!
Loser
In my opinion he’s gonna become something like CAS. Someone who’s just so overpowered the only time they actually show up in a story and do anything meaningful is when the writers make something or someone too strong for the heroes.
Seen u in Chinatown a little star stuck I’m such nerd keep up the good work bro
☝️☝️☝️Thanks for watching I've got something for you a🎉🎮🎮(ps5)prize..!!
THIS REMINDS ME OF THE BOOKS I COLLECTED MARVEL UPDATES
Hey Rob, love your vids! I was windering if you'll ever do those videos where you combine a superhero (or villain) with a superpower?
Totally random question, but one I've had stuck in my head all day; Rogue can touch Gambit because he essentially generates energy infinitely so...could she touch Cyclops then, since his eyes kinda do the same thing? I mean, they don't generate the energy themselves, they're more or less portals into a dimension filled with infinite energy, I think....so maybe she couldn't...but what if he opens his eyes then? 🤔 Now my brain hurts 🤣
Where’s rob 😭😭😭 I’m getting scared😭😭
Unironically, I feel like this character could make for a really good children's Marvel movie. A movie specifically for younger audiences that fully utilizes the loud attitude and social media obsession that this generation is stereotypically defined by to tell a realistic, messy coming of age story. Kinda like Turning Red, but if it was set at a point in time that made sense. It would give them the opportunity to flesh out Alpha's character more, tell a story about the younger generation's culture that doesn't inherently mock it, and make a fair bit of money off the enormous kids film market while doing so.
I only know about him because his series was first on marvel unlimited.
Can't wait for Sony to make a movie about him.
Not going to happen
you should do a video on the Champion
He sounds like a hero/villain that a high schooler would think of. With as much depth as an elementary school writer could come up with. I. Am. Not. Impressed.
Seems like a good example of GALACTUS chow.
(Alpha/Alpo)
XD XD XD
👍
That's a good point actually, since his powers are the product of his cells being infused by particles that produce limitless power, could Galactus actually eat him and get full?
oh hell, Terminus!! loved this guy, i didnt know he was in this story.
Soooo somewhere in the multiverse there’s a alpha named Toby Garfield
Beyond omega level : batmite
Beyond omega level : pralaya
He’s going to be great in morbious 2
Admittedly I enjoy characters that don’t have extreme powers who use whatever they can do in innovative and creative ways to win more then characters that win through a giant one-shot laser blast. But to each their own I guess, I just find characters like this bland.
With you 100%
FOR LORD SCHNITZEL:
ROB JEFFERSON, HEAR OUR CRY!
BEYOND OMEGA LEVEL MANDRAKK THE DARK MONITOR
Never been a fan of Alpha as a character. And while it's been stated he is this extreme threat the displays of power barely justify his classification as such a threat. Maybe something more interesting could come of him down the line but as of now, he is just meh
He's more of a threat from the perspective of his potential rather than his raw power at the moment. But yeah, Alpha does come off as one-dimensional.
Never heard of him till now
@@just_another_marvel_dc_gee4004 well no he's stated as an alpha lvl threat and that if time continues he could surpass alpha level.
Would be awesome if you could cover the irredeemable comics and do more of the what if stories you used to do cause they were amazing
Hey Rob is it possible you can do a tank girl explained video? Can’t seem to find a starting point with that character
Basically Ultra Boy from Legion of Superheros plus a little extra.
I'd love to see more moon girl.
How would a universal power be more powerful than a Multiversal power like the Phoenix Force
Has Rob replaced the invincible comic since he finished? He should cover a non marvel dc superhero comic like TMNT or Transformers like the one where the decepticons are lowly cannibals barely existing under starscream leadership. Then daddy megatron comes back beats the tar out of starscream and just says the most BRUTAL things to him to the point he begs for death. But megatron just rips into him. Explains to him y he never killed him and he still didnt. Hard to explain but its BRUTAL.
What do you mean replaced? I'm really confused by your comment.
Will look up that transformers comic though, not sure if it's my thing but sounds interesting enough!
@@sexuallobster134679 Optimus prime is legit a god in the comics
@@LuisLopez-ge2re i really have no idea about anything comic related when it comes to transformers so I'll definitely look into it at some point.
Any recommendations?
@@sexuallobster134679tbh I haven’t read any transformers comics I just heard that the Optimus in the comics are like consider gods
his entire arch seems like a story a fan got to submit to marvel in a contest.
pretty dope,
We need the spot.
Can you do Ra powers explained and most powerful moments!!
I think they should have used the term Apex Threat instead of Alpha Threat when describing him.
I wonder if Terminus came from a place were those who arrive survive 🤔
I thought it was Ezreal for a minute
Alpha with the ability to fly.......ALPHA FLIGHT🤣
I say, "when in doubt have Johnathan Hickman, writet this character out".
Please do Beyond Omega Level: Condiment King
and Beyond Omega Level: Paste Pot Pete!
The character needs development and needs to be humbled
