Ice man in movies: slides on ice and blast ice from his hands. Ice man in comics: can freeze you inside out and is capable of reviving himself out of thin air and can make a new ice age. Storm in movies: summons and shoots lightning and summon a tornado storm. Storm in comics: can manipulate weather on other planets and can control solar WINDS. Darwin in movies: survives fire and gets killed by Shaw. Darwin in comics: can take on blows from the HULK IN SPACE and by every blow the hulk throws at him he only gets stronger and more resilient. These are the MOST nerfed mutants in the X-men universe both shown in film and in comics.
Ok, but the reason for all of these mutants getting watered down is because overpowered characters tend to not make for as interesting of a story. Otherwise you end up having one hell of a power creep that needs to be addressed everytime a new movie comes out

Especially what got me was Darwin, the mutant that can survive everything and they immediately kill them as though he wasn’t going to be an interesting mutant that he is able to use more of his abilities AND one of the cooler mutants in the x-men universe.

There's a scene where she creates a cumulus cloud in the palm of her hand, with pin prick lightening. She's Omega because there's potentially no upper limit to the size of the complex system (Stellar Weather- Star to Nova or Singularity) or lower limit (the "weather" of brain activity)- her terrestrial weather focus being the result of the claustophobia and her technically religious fundamentalist (You Are A Weather Goddess) upbringing.

What ive always loved about Mutants is the scientific evolution of their powers. Like Bobby who in most stories would just be a ice man but can manipulate tempratures. Or instead of Controlling Fire the power is controlling the vibration of atoms which creates fire and then they can evolve it further.
When you realize David Charles Haller (The Legion) actually has the power to create whatever mutation he thinks of inside himself. He has like a shit ton of omega level mutations inside him. Downside is that he is insane and cos of his dissociative personality disorder, his mind creates new personalities to govern each mutation so he can't use all of them without calling on that personality. But his personality 005 which is actually the one called "The Legion" is referred to as a God-Omega level mutant and this personality can control all of the thousands of his omega level powers at the same time. When this personality is in control he probably is the strongest character in marvel excluding one above all or atleast in the top 5 strongest.

Both Storm & Magneto can influence stars as well, not just that of the Earth itself with their powers. Storm can create & influence solar storms in the Sun, while Magneto can use & reshape the magnetic fields within the Sun for whatever he wants to use it for.
She can perceive weather patterns. When her eyes turn white it's like seeing through a doppler radar. Her powers are so well controlled and specific she can make the falling rain drops go around her body keeping her dry in bad weather.
She's only omega level when she loses complete control and can't choose what she does, normally she's not that powerful only usally to the point where she influences reality not changes it

They were not her mutant powers, but an external, extra-dimensional addition to hers with no mutant origin whatsoever.

I remember getting into X-Men comics in elementary school. I read 2 issues from the Dark Phoenix Saga in 1st grade and was instantly hooked. I read all kinds of series: Uncanny X-Men, X-Men. Vol. 2 with Jim Lee’s art, etc. I remember reading X-Men First Class and liking Bobby Drake a lot but never really giving his powers much merit and now he’s one of the most overpower mutants in Marvel. I felt ashamed for overlooking him so much.

Watching this something came in my mind, call it a theory or whatever. Every mutant power is deeper than we think or deeper than they have revealed. For example in the early stages of magneto as a character it was shown that he could control metal like a magnet, but later on it was discovered that he actually controls the magnetic field of all sorts of stuff, there is a story when he changes the magnetic field of Earth itslef. Or let's say iceman, we thought he can create ice and that's just it, well... apparently not, he can manipulate the thermal power of all sorts of stuff. Now imagine, probably all the mutants have some amazing powers that haven't been revealed yet, or powers that maybe need to be seen as something bigger as something more general and not so specific. The power itself is general but the way they know how to use it is specific. If you know what onepiece is than you'll understand this analogy It's like the omega level mutants are the ones that have awakened their devil fruits while non omegas haven't awakened their abilities yet. It's an analogy, i know there are a ton of differences between them

Darwin would fit into this category because the extent of what he can do is undefinable. I use to talk with my friends on which team would win in a fight, X-Men or Avengers. I use to say X-Men because of Charles and Jean. After seeing this, it's still Charles, but mostly now because of Jean, Storm, Ice-Man and (I read in the comments) Gambit! Avengers don't stand a chance!
Technically, Gambit should be on this list. His powers aren't just about making cards explode. His powers have to do with manipulating kinetic energy, which the universe is full of. If he wanted to, he could detonate an entire planet and wipe it out of existence kind of like how Alderaan was wiped out by a Death Star in Star Wars.
Nate Grey is an omega...just his psionic powers alone rivals the Phoenix Force...he is more of a what if character to me since he is a younger clone of Cable...cable would have the same powers as nate grey if it was not for the virus he had

When you realize David Charles Haller (The Legion) actually has the power to create whatever mutation he thinks of inside himself. He has like a shit ton of omega level mutations inside him. Downside is that he is insane and cos of his dissociative personality disorder, his mind creates new personalities to govern each mutation so he can't use all of them without calling on that personality. But his personality 005 which is actually the one called "The Legion" is referred to as a God-Omega level mutant and this personality can control all of the thousands of his omega level powers at the same time. When this personality is in control he probably is the strongest character in marvel excluding one above all or atleast in the top 5 strongest.

So we're going to ignore the fact that storm's powers even work in space? She can theoretically go to other planets and manipulate their environments as well since her true powers go beyond weather. She controls elements of nature itself
Watching this something came in my mind, call it a theory or whatever.
Every mutant power is deeper than we think or deeper than they have revealed. For example in the early stages of magneto as a character it was shown that he could control metal like a magnet, but later on it was discovered that he actually controls the magnetic field of all sorts of stuff, there is a story when he changes the magnetic field of Earth itslef.
Or let's say iceman, we thought he can create ice and that's just it, well... apparently not, he can manipulate the thermal power of all sorts of stuff.
Now imagine, probably all the mutants have some amazing powers that haven't been revealed yet, or powers that maybe need to be seen as something bigger as something more general and not so specific.
The power itself is general but the way they know how to use it is specific.

Darwin would fit into this category because the extent of what he can do is undefinable. The fact that he can't use them manually and rather automatically reacts to his environment doesn't exempt him from the guidelines.
Darwin's powers can do simple things like giving him gills or making him weightless and incredibly powerfull things like spontaneously becoming a god of death. And there is nothing to suggest that that is as far as his powers can go.

I guess so too. In recent Mr & Mrs X, she can control her power which makes her able to absorb others' life force even without skin to skin contact. Like Hope Summers, but lethal.

So now with a little more Control over the Area of Effect of Rogues new power makes her a possible great Replacement for Hope in the Event of her death....kind of like a Backup, Backup >

But if you search, there was New Sun an alternate reality version of Gambit who can literally destroy a planet since I think thats what he did on his so he jumps to different timeline to kill all version of Gambit to prevent it

Technically, Gambit should be on this list. His powers aren't just about making cards explode. His powers have to do with manipulating kinetic energy, which the universe is full of. If he wanted to, he could detonate an entire planet and wipe it out of existence kind of like how Alderaan was wiped out by a Death Star in Star Wars.

Wasn't he only comparable to Franklin because Franklin was younger and inexperienced
Nate Grey is an omega...just his psionic powers alone rivals the Phoenix Force...he is more of a what if character to me since he is a younger clone of Cable...cable would have the same powers as nate grey if it was not for the virus he had
