A Little Life Update......and Of Course a Raccoon Update!

- Hey, guys! I know it’s been awhile, and I apologize for that, so I kind of wanted to explain my absence a little bit. Things have been super busy on the farm and with my business, Heart of the Midwest, but the main reason I haven’t been uploading videos is because some things have been taken a little too far. I really love sharing life on the farm, but it’s hard to share when folks make me feel so uncomfortable/unsafe that I need to put up extra security because they’ve taken things much too far. I truly appreciate everyone who supports my business and this channel and meeting people, but please understand that I value my privacy and especially value the safety of my family.
I’m planning on getting back to my usual schedule of posting now that I’ve taken extra measures to feel better about the situations!
Also, I hope you enjoy the update on Darrell Sue and Bud! They’re my favorite little guys right now.
Although I have truly missed your post. Your safety is most important. I am sorry that there are individuals out there that would do such terrible things. I would like you to start posting again, but only when you feel you are ready.

I've been extremely concerned about Erin as, in past videos, I've felt she's shared way way too much about her location. The other issue is using her full name as her channel. There are so many FREAKS out there that have to spoil things for the rest of us. I've completely enjoyed the content of Erin's videos as they've given me so much to look forward to at the end of a stressful workday. Erin's safety is much more important then our entertainment !!!!!!!!! BE Safe Erin, that's #1 priority !

I agree Roger! Erin you are not alone in this situation. Another yong lady tuber from Sweden had similar issue . She kept posting but turned off comments on her channel for a while. She made a video like you did to let her subscribers know! She did eventually turn her comments back on.

I'm a retired federal game warden. We used to refer to racoons as baby bears. I appreciate that you rescued these baby bears. I didn't have racoons as pets but did have a few de-funked skunks.
Here in Kansas our fish and game would rather see a baby coon starve to death than for someone to take care of it. A friend of mine bottle fed an orphan raccoon for several months. Fish and game got word of it, raided his place with guns drawn, took the coon and fined him $500. Does that make sense to anyone?
@@leebarnhart831 We don't have that same attitude in Ohio. Here, you're allowed to have fur bearing animals but you must gat a fur bearing animal permit. It's free and the only thing that happens is a game warden visits the home to ensure it's a safe environment for the animal. Also, to ensure the owners are responsible people with the ability to properly take care of them. The permit has to be renewed every two years with another visit to see that all things are the same. I'm sorry your friend had this incident. I guess there are people with authority who don't respect life or the value of owning a pet that contribute so much in our lives.
You're in my prayers, may the Lord protect and keep you safe. Thanks for sharing about the baby raccoons. I have a few in my yard that tag along with their momma. They drink out of a shallow water bowl (Pyrex pie dish). Maybe your little ones would like their own water bowl.

God bless you young lady. Always help the fur babies. The wife and I raised 3 orphaned racoons. It brought much joy to our hearts. Sad to introduce them back to the wild. They still come around to check on us.

I farm in west central Missouri, and it's been a wet spring, we had to replant both the corn,and the beans. In my farm life spring planting and sprain is the most stressful time on the farm I am always so thankful when it's done and no one has gotten hurt and we all still like each other lol. I do look forward to your recipe videos your DIY videos and other little things that you put together and pop up from time to time. It just is so appalling that people can be so rude and so gross and so disrespectful of someone's own self-worth and privacy. You and your safety comes first

I watched the beginning of this video with a growing mixture of sadness, horror and then anger. I am truly sorry that this has happened Erin. I know from instagram that you were getting some, shall we say unwanted comments on your videos but I didnt think it would be as bad as stalking. You did well to tell us about it without showing your upset. I am of your dads generation and I just do not understand why some people think its ok to act as they do. Your wellbeing and feeling safe in your own home is top of any list and must absolutly come first so you do what ever you need to do. Video wise I love all of your videos as your love and passion for Ag shines through and its facinating to me to see how you folks over the pond do things. However, its brilliant that Heart of the midwest is busy and I hope growing for you (pun very much intended) and what with that and farm work (and more importantly looking after yourself), please do not worry about videos. If or as and when, you do your viewers are not going anywhere. As for the Racoons, they are soooo cute (just not in your loft at 3am). What you do for those little guys is amazing, you give them a chance they would not otherwise have had and as an animal lover, thank you for caring about them. Keep being who you are.

I had a feeling this would happen, your natural openness and saying where your farm was was enough for the freaks to come out. Unfortunately the internet and the world itself is full of nutjobs. Stay safe, carry if possible. Yours is the only farming channel I have ever followed. Its really interesting the detail that goes into planting and harvesting, plus your Father runs a tight ship with a fleet of equipment that looks brand new. I found your channel looking for farm information and subbed and stayed because of the genuine way you present life on the farm. Always informative, clear, and interesting. I'd love to see more of how your farm works. The cooking videos are fun and the other stuff you mentioned sounds like it could be interesting also.

A simple yes to the farming videos, it is comforting to watch the year pass by on the farm for a former farmer like me, it makes me feel better to watch all different channels because I cant farm myself any more, and yes to the DIY project as well as those little charming trash pandas, they are fun to watch roaming around and being themselves :)
