Fright Bat You’re not entirely wrong. Unfortunately, their lifespan is usually cut very short in the wild. Between predators, being hit by cars, poor diet, illness/diseases, they just don’t live very long. Their lifespan in the wild is only an average of 2-3 years.

Very cute. Reminds me of the raccoon my neighbor rescued from a storm drain during a thunderstorm when I was a kid. He didn't become a pet, but lived happily on their property as a semi-tame animal.
Tito has the best life of any racoon, full stop. He does seem to have a sweet tooth though. You have really done a tremendous job in providing him with so many opportunities to explore the world and experience all the fun sides of being a racoon, while sparring him the crueler life he would have lived in the wild. WELL DONE!

Oh this brings back wonderful memories! I had my Lucy Fur for 7 years. I miss her every day! She didn't know she wasn't human. Her best friends were Mina, our Boxer and Desi, her cat. It's such a blessing to have had her as a part of our family.

Growing up with my great uncle we had all kinds of wild nature growing around us and raccoons, people Drive up in their vehicles open the door and dump and abandon their kittens and cats because they knew my Uncle James would take care of them. Bobcats with their baby bobcats would come and eat right alongside with the abandon kitties and raccoons. They would all eat right out of the same bowl sometimes. It was awesome. Tito and his human friend were created for each other. Love Racoons. Indeed they grow fast bcz they are in protected environment, plenty of good food, 100% attention, more than anything unconventional Love from their human companion.
