For real, he’s an incredible lead and dual rhythm player, he was also the one beach boy I’d want wish had been around long enough to write a memoir or two, I feel like that beautiful man powerfully underrated musical spirit that plays some of the most iconic simple but assertive if not sometimes brilliantly aggressive playing and attack, he is a legend within a family of legends to be eternally remembered as long as there are records and audio files and ears to hear them, it’s hard to argue with The Beach Boys rightful place In the rock n roll pantheon, given all that family and group had been through I bet Carl had some stories.
@@ENigma-um8zw very well put. You took the words out of my mouth. Carl was the spiritual center. Plus a totally totally underrated guitar player. He made all those key changes seem easy as key lime pie served by topless waitresses Down in Kokomo.
Despite their problems. B BOYS were great tallent in their own right AND together they were INCREDIBLE Thats why they held the CREST all these years. cheers
I dont know if Carl told the camera man to ''layoff'' him during the show but I could have just watched Carl Wilson the whole show lol, these >90s shows with him are so precious, as he'd by gone be '98 and done playing live by late 97 iirc -- Grateful to have seen with and the guys with my family uncles aunts and cousins in the early 90s at the MN state fair when I was a kid, and then one of my greatest concert treasures was seeing Brian Wilson and band perform the entirety of Pet Sounds, that felt like listening to Bach perform in person tbh, it was simply transcendent. Long live the Beach Boys and the Wilson-brothers and fam Legacy!
Do you know what I just realized remember beach boys years at full house before I just love it so much better now John Samos was touring with beach boys before I just love it so very much
I remember these 90’s concerts so well!! I went to about 8 shows a year back then...The performances were basically flawless! Matt Jardine really made his mark vocally!!
Beach Boys all of you same in young age time your voice still young sound so nice never fade so great super best Beach Boys, I live all your songs BRAVO BEACH BOYS YOUR E THE BEST IN THE WHOLE WORLD ❤️❤️❤️ I LOVE BEACH BOYS ❤️❤️❤️
I was at a Beach Boys concert in Fairmount Park on the 4th of July, I think it was in the 1980's. I'm sure it was during daylight, so it wasn't this one. I remember people climbing up on the light poles, they were swaying around up there. We left early because the crowds were huge and we didn't want to caught in the traffic. Our car was parked in. We put the bumper against one of the cars that had us parked in and pushed it out of the way. There was a lot of smoking tires before we had enough room to get out of the parking space! When we got home the news was reporting that one of those light poles broke.
I love the Beach Boys! Hey, how 'bout that John Stamos (actor/musician) on the drums?! How cool to tell your kids/grands, you performed with the Beach Boys! Thanks for the upload, 'preciate it.
Enjoyed watching members of the band. Cheerleaders take too much attention from them and are unnecessary. Need to give more camera time to the members of the band!
Beach Boys ended when Carl died. I know Al left because he didn’t think it was truly “The Beach Boys” with no Wilson brother. No disrespect to Mike Love and Bruce Johnson’s version who I’ve seen and enjoyed. Was truly great to see the 50th Anniversary tour with Brian and all surviving members back on stage again.
John Stamos started playing drums part time for the beach boys around 1985.Before full house. Mike Love saw him play on General Hospital and at a concert asked him to join the group.
And an extremely expensive band, that lost money except in Asia. Love has the licensing rights from Brother Records of which he pays 25%. Brian turned down the option. The torch is passed. Small venues and amphitheaters are perfect and low overhead to pay the commission to Brother Records. Love has a fine tuned racing machine with incredible players.
@@pauldrew3696he started destroying the band around 1975 after “Endless Summer” came out. Right after Carl had worked so hard to transform them into a kick ass hard rocking live powerhouse. It’s a shame.
Hey Elora, looks like ur even a bigger fan than me, and I'm now 60, but my Daughter is 23 and a singer, and I have her already hooked, I drip fed her by way a playlist cd in my car, she went to her first concert two years ago, she goes to this really trendy music college in Ireland and i always tell her to say they are the greatest band in the world, he tutor had her do her third yr assignment on the beachboys as they were the first band to be instrumental in the use of many types of instruments, and vocal arrangements, he of course didn't know she was a fan, I am assuming she will fly thru it.
Wow was this lipsynched? I saw Love pointing to his headset and talking at the same time he was "singing". And they shouldn't be using the Beach Boys name when Brian Wilson is nowhere to be found. And dancing girls?
The great Richie Canatta from Billy Joel's big hits era on sax & flute. Looks like Mike Meros on keyboards and Mike Kowalski on drums. Billy Hinsche & Matt Jardine there also. I think it's Steady Eddie Carter (touring member since late 60s) on bass. Strictly an oldies show except for the Calif Dream remake and the lame Summer in Paradise. No songs from the early 70's era (Sunflower, Surfs Up, Holland, So Tough). I'm surprised Stamos didn't do Forever (written by Dennis).
Was this the year that by 11:30 p.m. no musicians had started, no fireworks (yet?), it was a work-night, and little kids and families did not get fireworks? What a waste.

Absolutely no offense to Carl, just curious was he already ill during the time of this show? You can tell there's stronger backing by Al and Matt on Darlin' (and they do fabulously).
They should have kept Stamos ass behind his drums and kept the dancing girls off stage COMPLETELY. And Billy Hinsche took one for the team WITH NO VASELINE on wipeout. they should have made STAMOS do the rapping since he's more matinee idol than musician. And during wipeout, Carl looked like he was forced at gunpoint. Mike might HAVE forced them at gunpoint to go along with all his cheeseball ideas.
Just a brutal time for the Wilson’s. Brian recovering from the prescription drug overdoses designed to kill him by Landry and Carl too worn out to deal with Loves antics and degradation of the group. So sad.
Carl’s guitar playing is so present in the mix here. What a player he was

Carl was simply iconic. An original rock n roller but that voice

Al Jardine - great voice
Matt Jardine is SO good
Yes he did
Al Jardine
Both Al Jardine and his son Matt are very excellent singers.
It was a perfect summer night July 4th in Philly. My hometown....
Been waiting for a version of this concert for years , its rare to see Carl playing in the 90s towards the end ,thanks so much 👍
Beach boys are one of most marvelous bands ever. Carl & Dennis r.i.p
My god that Be True To Your School intro is so over the top, so much fun to watch
watching in 2024. i was there! my last carl
They made the history, RIP Dennis and Carl.
As long as CARL is in them please keep them coming
Carl RIP "God Only Knows."..just how much we miss you and your beautiful voice!
This specific show was the first concert I remember attending! The Boys arrived. late from their afternoon show at Six Flags!
Love this thank you for posting!
They're in full on nostalgia mode at this point. Whatever; they still rule.
Mike Love was 54 here and transcendental meditating his way to glory with Beach Boys groupies across the land.
More like lip-synching then meditating

Al Jardine tours with the Brian Wilson band now.
Brian Wilson tours with the Brian Wilson band now.

AWESOME LOVE THEM ALL STILL
ah Matt jardine on don't worry baby 😍😍😍
Thanks for posting. I love the beach boys & your channel
“The Beach Boys have repaired their problem onstage”
*Camera pans over to the cheerleaders being forced off the stage*
Problem reappears pretending to play guitar during ‘California Girls’.
@Chris Cianciolo Perfect! I couldn't have said it better.
Lol 😂
Thanks for posting. First time seeing this concert on YT.

Killer piano by Billy Hinsche at 58:33.

Mike Love's idea of course.

❤The Beach Boys . Saw them in 60s [ minus Brian sadly] in Manchester U.K. Miss Dennis and Carl R. I. P.
Elora, a legend as always!
J’aime beaucoup Beach Boys!
Merci!
I remember being saddened when the dancing girls came out during California Girls. Ugh
Ridiculous
Very awesome show✌🏻👏🏻👍🏻
John Stamos started playing drums part time for the beach boys around 1985.Before full house. Mike Love saw him play on General Hospital and at a concert asked him to join the group.
Yeah- something like that-- 🤔
23:55 Wtf happened there
The sound mix is terrible. Those were great touring years for the Beach boys and I enjoyed those concerts very much.
WTH was Stamos doing with the guitar!? Obviously not playing it but what a joke!
All he does is waggle his hair. So annoying.
The whole thing was lip/instrument synched.
I skipped right to Fun Fun Fun and Ohhh CARL Is Here!!
Obviously they did NOT repair the problem! but I was there! way cool post
So glad The Beach Boys let John Stamos get to play rock star for a few years
Like the rest of Hollywood letting him play actor for the last 40 years...
Is that Billy rapping during Wipeout?
Sure is!
Juxtaspose this band with what Mike leads out on stage currently. This was a professional band. Carl, Al, Bruce and Mike with a great backing band.
And an extremely expensive band, that lost money except in Asia. Love has the licensing rights from Brother Records of which he pays 25%. Brian turned down the option. The torch is passed. ❤
The Philadelphia Art Museum on Benjamin Franklin Parkway. We just call it The Art Museum around here. This is the museum with the 'Rocky Steps'.
The cheerleader era… dark days…
Don’t care for the cheerleaders; takes away from the members of the band. Would love to have seen more of Carl, Al, Bruce, Etc.
Mike cheesy love took the group over and it showed.
@@pauldrew3696he started destroying the band around 1975 after “Endless Summer” came out. Right after Carl had worked so hard to transform them into a kick ass hard rocking live powerhouse. It’s a shame.
I miss Carl!
RIP Carl.
Bruce and Al’s mics sound like they were shoved down their throats. Didn’t they do a soundcheck?
Just so you know. The commercials are so long and frequent that I will never buy a single product that they advertise. They spoiled the concert! PNSS

Sounds like Carl has a faulty guitar cord. Al sounds like he has a cold!
The beach Boys isn't the same without Brian Wilson being involved in the group. Without Brian the harmony isn't the same.
I totally agree.
The mike love show
Brian stopped touring on 1965
Carls voice just got better ,the Older He got !

i saw this show in Ma.the girls came out dressed in laker uniforms.never heard so many boos in my life
What an embarrassment Mike Love was here! Carl had awesome hair and sounded great!!
Was this the year that by 11:30 p.m. no musicians had started, no fireworks (yet?), it was a work-night, and little kids and families did not get fireworks? What a waste.
No I was there Boys played 9 to 10:30 then fireworks.

Jesus Carl's mic is loud. Good tutorial for a Beach Bòy cover band needing to learn the baritone part for California Girls. 😐
Absolutely no offense to Carl, just curious was he already ill during the time of this show? You can tell there's stronger backing by Al and Matt on Darlin' (and they do fabulously).
No he found out in 96 the following year while in Hawaii. Although he played over 100 shows in 97. Passed 2/6/98.
I think he may have been ill even though not yet diagnosed. He doesn't look like his usual self.
…but the sound
I didn’t think they had IEM technology back then and there are wedges on the stage. Can they even hear themselves? The mix is terrible.
They should have kept Stamos ass behind his drums and kept the dancing girls off stage COMPLETELY. And Billy Hinsche took one for the team WITH NO VASELINE on wipeout. they should have made STAMOS do the rapping since he's more matinee idol than musician. AND the other drummer played like he was on cocaine.
Man, this mix is dog water. Carl's vox on "Darlin'" were perfect for a whole two seconds. Great video tho
God only knows is Paul McCartney's favorite song.
Bruce's shorts should be an imprisonable offence
As well as Mike's hat and vest And Al's ponytail, not becoming at all!
Just a brutal time for the Wilson’s. Brian recovering from the prescription drug overdoses designed to kill him by Landry and Carl too worn out to deal with Loves antics and degradation of the group.
So sad.
I could do without the dancing girls, cheerleaders, and Stamos!
The Beach Boys 1
The Camera man 0
little kids on stage and dancing girls fronting the band...not their best concert...
Drummer Mike Kowalski blows! Bobby Figueroa should have been there.
What a waste of a setlist, I have how they went full retro band during this time.
What is this tragedy on the Parkway
Al Jardine: the porn years
It's too bad that John Stamos just can't play without all that goofy mugging.
This concert would have been better without Mike Love's pathetic jokes. In fact it would probably have been better without Mike Love!!
have a heart friend chill out
Just the usual Mike Love hate. It's so ridiculous...@@terrymcnee3568
John Stamos is as good a drummer as anyone
they shouldnt have done this
Why?
What? The whole show? Or just part of it? And why? Please explain.
@allanconner cuz you comment you think not.
Mike's Teva's are 💩
In Mike Love we trust.
