    I really like your style of painting especially your lighting and how you tone down your color so it doesn't look cartoonish and your brushwork looks very expressive also your signature is a very nice touch :)

    Very helpful contents and thank you so much for your enthusiasm! I am a big fan of your channel 🌷
    I want to know if you can make following video how to add lost edge with the demonstration on those paintings? Or you can let us know with other paintings!

    • @walcottfineart5088

      Lost edges are pretty easy to make, you just smear the paint a little and blur the edge. They work best on the shadow side or receeding edge of an object. Thanks for watching! :)

      Thank you for your advice. I smeared and blurred the edges and feel that it is much better!!! I will keep on working to make it more natural ! Again big thanks for your video and wonderful solutions. ❤❤❤

    Very interesting. I have heard about these edges but this was the first time I see that the object of central focus , in this case the oranges , have both lost and found edges. My misconception was that the central focus should be painted entirely with sharp edges!Thank you so much for the instruction. I love your paintings, they remember me of David Leffels stillife but show you worked it into your own style Have a great weekend!

    Excellente vidéo et magnifiques tableaux. David Leffel parle beaucoup de l'importance de ces bords perdus. Seriez-vous l'un de ses élèves? En tous cas merci infiniment pour toutes ces videos si riches en informations. MLS

      Merci encore une fois pour vos aimables commentaires ! Je n'ai pas étudié directement avec David Leffel, mais j'ai étudié avec deux de ses élèves : Dan Edmondson et Kelli Folsom. J'ai également lu plusieurs de ses livres. Vous pouvez utiliser n'importe quel médium qui vous convient avec la méthode alla prima. Mes préférés sont les gels comme le Maroger, que Leffel utilise.

    Thank you for this video. Controlling these edges is a way to control the focal point and hence the message of the painting.

    • @walcottfineart5088
      @walcottfineart5088  5 років тому

      Very true! Typically your hardest edges will be in the focal area. Thanks for watching!

    Thank you so much for the review of the edges. I find that planning helps to remember about using the lost and found concept. Thanks again for the great demo using your own work.

    beautiful painting with beautiful blue/greens together with the yellows. Interesting topic as well that is often overlooked. The second painting "windfall" is stunning!

    The shadow thrown by the handle of the pewter vase is too strong and the handle itself is not opposite the pourer. Otherwise great two paintings and a topic very relevant to myself and one of my colleagues. It would be much appreciated if you extended this at some stage to portrait painting.
