It is so nice to see the sandstone used in this way - it instantly reminded me of Sydney's more historic buildings and acts like a built bridge between the ancient rock and the modern concrete. It is hard to celebrate the design skill and ingenuity when it is available to so few - I am a lifelong renter and feel lucky even to have a home - but I do appreciate the efforts to bring nature on to the roof and to preserve the crag as much as possible. It would be so wonderful if these projects were scaled for sustainability and available to us all.
I completely agree! The use of sandstone in this design beautifully connects the ancient rock with modern elements, reminiscent of Sydney's historic buildings.
I'm glad to find this comment! I love the house, it's SO beautiful. The juxtaposition of the raw and elegance, the streamlined, minimalist modernity... But to me it almost seems wrong that there's this incredibly decadent house that's completely inaccessible to 99.99% of us.

Hi Dave, Maybe you have worked hard & had a very successful & fruitful business & personal life and you develop a life altering illness or have a life altering accident through no fault of our own. Maybe the ramps have purpose. Cheers, L
@@lesleymcmullen961 you mean it is necessary because the owner may have mobility issues? I think in that case just buy a single story home with no change in elevation
@@lesleymcmullen961 Just use an elevator that takes up 1/16th of the space that this vastly oversized concrete ramp takes up. I fully concur with daveb, really not a fan of the ramps. The rest of the house is stunning but using up half the front garden for a concrete ramp is silly.
There is a lot to like with this house. The views, the interior arrangement and design, the unusual swimming pool placement. Though I can't get over what to me looks over-complicated "privacy" elements towords the street and neighbours. I think an even narrower placement and wood as a primary "cladding" would have produced a more natural calming look from the street as well as out of the house - especially if mixed with garden / plant elements. This ramp up to the roof top maybe technically needed or wanted, but the very light coloured yet heavy construction material emphasizes this feature too much. To me it looks like a maze of "gangways" that serves an apartment house of 5 floors. Overall everything seems slightly oversized, the way up, the privacy protection, and the sea front.
Agree, the only thing available is ugly , badly made homes. There should be stylish and functional homes that are affordable for all. Not on this level but using some of the design elements from these expensive home, with more affordable “ materiality” .
Why is it so many architects love modernist boxes and cubist structures? There is SO much more to architecture than these yet they are always featured? God awful boring and uninspiring designs that are out of sync with humanity and nature alike.

The glass floor shot at 1:00 was trippy. Very cool & unique detail. Beautiful setting. Beautiful home. Great work, & job well done!
The attention to detail in every corner is impressive-truly a dream home!
Breathtaking scale and depth
Something unbelievable in proprtions and textures. Nice!
Feels like a museum inside
A clear vision and purpose. Beautifully designed.
Just WOW. An all timer is this.

Beautiful
Absolutely beautiful with taste
Nice to live higher ground over looking beauty😊
Amazing work..
At last an architect who does not feel the need to do the extremely hypocritical but recently ubiquitous land acknowledgement. Thanks for that!
Get over it, I don’t even notice it.

Stunning design and what wonderful views! ❤
Beautiful !🤩
Great work!
Stunning!
Some aspects were nice but I really didn't like the ramps. It felt cold like a government or industrial building
Could have used timber wood instead
there is a hospital near my house, seeing this home made me remember that place.

Love this project
The lines are quite attractive.
Great video as usual. Love The Local Project: Book 10. Impressed with the brand you're building
Love the skateboard ramps
Amazing and lovely architect. House is stunning. I don’t think the video captures what it would really feel like being in it
Amazing!
"Quite a modest pool"😂
A golden cage par excellence.
wow
Needed more trees and nature. Ditch the red paneling and the gold accents on the interior.

Wow..
I would've liked to see the original modernist house and its interiors before all the renovations
Отличный дом
This would be the place to see a private showing of Ms. Angelina Jordan's new Jazzy song "Bad Valentine" Piano Diaries OMG!
The tennis court next to it would kill it for me. How do people deal with that?
This is a beautiful site, but I don’t care for the home. It feels cold and unwelcoming to me.
Such honourable and respectful design on the stolen land of that area.
저도 이런 교외주거지를 갖고싶어요
❤
Can we make this affordable living for the majority of people? I hate having taste and no money.
No
Then make some money.

can we get Enez there asap?
I doubt the client will be cleaning the glass wall on the north terrace. Lucky client.
I‘d like to see architects focus more on sustainability in their designs. Concrete scores very low in terms of sustainability.
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
A very modest swinminpool? Seriously????
nope didnt like it

Another 'we sh*t money' build. Aside from the modest swimming pool of course 😜. Not my favourite in the series, I prefer the smaller clever ones.
All that money it look overdone, great view but the house isn’t nice
This looks more like a jail than a a house. WTH?
the past few months ive had to watch these videos with the sound off. the editing and interviews usually ruin the video
