Paul King is an autour. A certain style and vision to his movies. Very much in this vein of the Golden age of Hollywood. The two Paddington movies were So well done. I I think the audience counted on him being so inventive and so much in tune with his family audience for Wonka. The movie is amazing.
If they make a second one they better not make Wonka mean and dark.. because what I love about this movie is that he’s so kind. They should just redo the whole narrative. Make Wonka nice like this movie!
Loved this movie! Would actually be ok if there wasn’t a sequel. I like the lightheartedness. I don’t think you could keep that feeling AND bridge the gap between this Willy Wonka and the previous ones.
Fun movie and I'm glad it wasnt just another remake but the tale of Willy's beginning and with plenty of time till the 1971 story happens aaaand that it seems to acknowledge the original 1971 film's story as what will probably happen 30 years in Willy's future. So fingers crossed we get another🤤
