I can imagine Noel being mortified by Oasis, something along the lines of "I like their attitude but robbing Beatle intros wholesale like that? taking the piss aren't they?"
There's a special place for people who unashamedly call it as it is. You won't hear Noel beat around the bush. He's been a breath of fresh air for so long and still makes me laugh to this day. Legend.

Noel's not wrong, Maroon 5 are absolute shite, the only reason people love them coz of the singers good looks. But he's certainly is not as attractive as Liam Gallagher though.
Maroon 5 are the worst. I saw album review that actually praised the last maroon 5 album and lyrics, while dumping on Who Built the Moon. The lyrics went something like 'She kissed me, like a whiskey...' Just pure cheese. Noel is not the greatest lyricist, but 'she had a smile like 1969' is far better than that cheeseball stuff. It's a shame that mainstream America loves cheesy music. Even young rock bands are forced to look-act ridiculous to make an impression. The latest is Greta Van Fleet. While they may have talent, its embarrassing to watch. The band is like an SNL parody. But that's the climate shows like The Voice & American Idol have set for success. It's 80's hair band levels of cheesiness
taggle waggle I’m a big Oasis/Noel/Liam fan but the lyrics on Holy Mountain is a joke... “She fell she fell right under my spell. Hold up pretty baby come on” These are not Noel quality lyrics... (But I do agree with you about maroon 5)
Barrios Groupie -As a simile, Noel's lyric comparing a woman's smile to a year is pretty imaginative. 1969 was good year in history. Abbey road, Woodstock, man landed on the moon. Maroon 5 lyric is a tired trope
legal kags - Keep in mind that Noel doesn't intend for his lyrics to have a literal meaning. Mostly imagery. They mean whatever you think they do, that's part of the fun. Holy Mountain is just fun stuff, not deep thoughts. This same goes for 'she's got dirty dishes on the brain...' … anyway Maroon 5 requires a team songwriters and producers to create music. Dead in the Water has better lyrics than anything maroon 5 ever wrote
