I'm using this mouse right now and yes, there is sometimes a little disconnection problem (it happens randomly every 10-15 mins, sometimes even more, for 1-2 seconds). Apart from that, I have to admit this mouse is amazing, for the price it's totally worth it. The click feeling is excellent, the precision is good, it feels solid. If you are a pro gamer in an international tournament this is not for you, but for other 99.99% this is a great budget wireless mouse.
@@al01martinez88 I downloaded the firmware updater and followed the step by step guide. I am stuck at the point where you have to see basilisk adb or something similar in windows bluetooth devices, I can't see anything. I tried in windows 10, windows 11. I see only the regular mouse under bluetooth devices and not other special options.
@@al01martinez88 I'm trying right now, the software says "Add dfuBasilisk in the windows bluetooth settings" but I can't find anything. Fun fact I tried this mouse on xbox, it worked perfectly without any disconnection issue for two hours. It is clearly a firmware-software problem with windows for sure.
Scroll wheel is not gimmick, it's really useful for productivity helped me scroll through 1000s of line. Weight of mouse is subjective, I am a part time gamer and office worker 😅 coming from mx518 I don't mind weight but lighter mouse is plus.
I got a wireless razer mamba last year and it was a pretty cool mouse. Was essentially a Zowie EC-1 but wireless and slightly cheaper feeling. Unfortunately I lost the charging cable thingy which happens to all my wireless mice, so having batteries might unironically be better for me
Being used Logitech for a very long time, I hate the double click issue on all the mice I have used(g102, g403, g604, superlight) I recently moved to RoG Chakram X, but now the software is so shit I felt like throwing Asus mouse out of the window. Asus doesn't well work with multi device, I cannot use copy and paste custom windows action on other PC or devices. This is where Logitech excel. In real world it's just chose low hardware quality vs low software quality. I really think all mouse above 100$ should have free scroll and replaceble switches.
btw swtiching to 16000 dpi and then lowering the sensitivity in game and windows improves accuracy and improves latency so yes i put it to the max and then change it in game and windows settings
I love the latching scroll wheel feature of my Basilisk. I think I have the V3 (no idea actually), but being able to massively navigate a document by flicking the wheel with enough force that it unlatches has been a game changer for me, no pun intended as it is mostly useless in any game I play
The only issue I have with this mouse is the quickness in which it consumes battery life. Other than that. Its a solid well designed mouse capable of amazing gameplay.
It's supposed to go through battery alot slower in bluetooth, I switched and haven't noticed a difference in connection and battery noticeably last longer.
What I hate is that the scroll wheel eventually starts acting up and to fix/clean up the sensor you have to remove all the pads. Like bruh why do you have to design it so the pads cover up the screws you need to access? Just let me open the goddamn thing without removing them!
Regarding the the middle mouse button, I believe that its actually a feature and working as intended. Im basing this solely on my experience with the gpro X which shares the same feature. I assume this was done to ease with pressing the middle mouse button, as its quite awkward to lift a finger off your left or right mouse button just to press it in.
I think it is how the components were designed. One side of the scroll wheel connects to the encoder for scrolling, and the other side sits on top of a button for sensing presses. In this case, im guessing the encoder is on the left side, the button on the right. So when force is applied from the left, the wheel slightly pivots downward in the right side and registers a middle click (sorry bad at physics lol).
I have just changed to this mouse from a G MX518. Better ergonomics. And I can use it on both my gaming rig and my desktop computer just by switching between BT and 2.4GHz.
I've had a lot of problems out of mine over the last 2 or so years. Seems like scroll wheel click doesn't work 30% of the time, but will double activate 10% of the time as well. Biggest issue is constant disconnecting from my PC which is 2 ft away and will not reconnect regardless of time passed unless I flip the mouse over and changing to off back to 2.4 works, some times I need to take out the battery for it to work again, and some times (in to be fair rare occasions) I must remove the USB dongle and reconnect it to the PC. These issues happen at random however, some days absolutely no issues at all, other times it will stop working 3+ times in a 30 mins period which can be very frustrating especially when in the middle of a game. I really dislike how the scroll wheel click doesn't always work because I like tabs in my browser, but the disconnecting is really what got me just over it, and the fact the mouse macros stop working every time there is a Synapse update and I've not installed it. I've tried blocking Synapse in my firewall to prevent this but there is a built in timer or something where after 20 days the customizable buttons all stop working until I like it connect out for a second and block it off again. Honestly been a pretty poor experience with Razor synapse, but I do mostly chock it up to being a $30 wireless mouse more so than anything. As for batteries I bought a 4 pack of rechargeable lithium batteries on sale it's worked well and they have easily paid for themselves in the long run.
FREE SCROLL WHEEL IS NOT A GIMMICK!!! Internet scrolling is so much smoother without all the clicks. Some people use spreadsheets on occasion & they are essential for that misery!
just got this mouse and its very nice, feels very good to gold, click feels and sounds nice and it just looks good, oh and btw anything over the 3600 dpi is just useless
Just got this mouse and I must say, I really hate its left click sound! It has a kinda of 'after-click' echo sound which is really annoying! I thought this review might mention it, but maybe I'm too sensitive idk.
Since I bought it I have had problems, at first I attributed the problem to Windows since I had to install and uninstall the drivers a couple of times until it worked in 2.4. But now it gives me connectivity problems all the time where it is not recognized by Windows, however I put any other cheap wireless mouse and it works 100% of the time. Honestly, a crappy mouse in my experience.
Hey! I've been thinking of buying this mouse. However, recently, according to amazon reviews, people have been saying the design is week and breaks quickly. Is this true? I want a good mouse but don't want it to break in 3 months.
