Thanks Jenna for sharing, I tried it this morning and it worked great! Finally made some nice sada lol. I had soo much difficulty with trying to manage the heat to sakay a roti.
I used to make sada roti on a saucepan when I first came to Florida because I had an electric stove. The tawa I had was too heavy for the coil. Roti came out perfect. Now that I have a gas stove, I use the tawa for sada roti and a 14- inch non-stick Rachel Ray pan for paratha (try it....it comes out perfect).
@@JennaGTheHijabiTT I think he means like when making coconut bake - you add coconut to the dough but coconut is not added to sada roti nor any kind of roti. He would have to make coconut roast bake 😋
I appreciate your videos, I’ve been trying to learn recipes to make my Trini husband instead of just expecting him to eat the foods I eat. Quick question, is it 1/2 cup water per cup of flour? Or is there no set measurement
I’m so happy to hear that! Honestly there isn’t an exact measurement of the water… add as you go along until the dough is soft and holding together nicely
Hey! Kneading is very important in getting it to swell and also the heat... depending on the type of stove you have. If it’s too low or high, it won’t swell...do you have a gas or electric?
Girl to be honest... it will come with practice. My mummy has an electric stove and hers swell easily and like normal.... play around with it... knead it properly and just plays with the heat. Don’t roll it out too thin... as you see the first few bubbles flip it... you can flip it again after a few seconds. I really hope you get through! Good luck! 😃
Jenna I have failed 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I had gotten it right twice and now I decied to try making it tonight and total failure I can't get it to swell on the tawa I am so disappointed I dumped it into the bin when and mix flour over again and to no avil failed again. I don't understand what am doing wrong. I want it come out and look just like yours. 😖😞💔
@@JennaGTheHijabiTT thanks Jena I have been using a tawa and I did try again. I just don't know why I am not getting it I replay your video over and over just to see what I am doing wrong. I don't know if I am not kneading the flour properly or if am over kneading etc. I just want to be able to make sada roti just as you did in your video. But I will try again. It hurts when you fail especially if it's numerous times. I master your fried bake and am making progress with bread as well as the pholourie. I try stuff which you have upload once I have the ingredients and equipments. I wanted to try the pies but I don't have a cookie dough cutter to try them out. Thanks for responding I really appreciate the advice.
Bit stupid. In your video of Aloo Fry and Sada roti, you used atta flour and plain flour, and this video you using only plain flour. Make up your mind what ingredients to use, plain and wheat flour or just plain flour?
Thanks for this recipe, this is my 3rd attempt at roti spanning some years, and this was the best i ever got it... it swelled up and everything...
Gosh, just the video I needed this morning. I mean the measurement, advice and the pan method.
Thanks so much for this recipe. Made my life much easier and it came out perfect!

Hi I love this roti and how it's done I am thinking of adding coconut to the roti can you show how to add the coconut will be nice thank you.
Hi.... not sure what you mean by adding coconut.... can you explain?
@@JennaGTheHijabiTT I think he means like when making coconut bake - you add coconut to the dough but coconut is not added to sada roti nor any kind of roti. He would have to make coconut roast bake 😋
@Christopher Bobb she's making roti and not roast bake - coconut is not added to roti ever!

Could you share the ingredients for the dough?
Yes of course! 1 cup flour, 1 tsp baking powder, pinch of salt... enough water for kneading (dough should be soft)
@@JennaGTheHijabiTT hi. How does it make properly without yeast?
The baking powder
Hiii is 1tsp like a baby spoon or small spoon?
A measuring spoon is best, if you are not sure - like what comes in a set
Thanks. 🤗
nice...
You could swell it in the microwave too
Yups that’s true
How?
Nice.
Girl I try it but my roti got black like pitch but it eat good
Oh gosh!! The heat was too high... it takes some practice but once you get the hang of it it will become super easy!
Goodmorning Jenna, so so easy. You made this roti a no brainer definitely gonna have to do this
Sometimes bread dont do it,thank you
Thanks much! Yes! Try it!

Why roti so difficult to make on a tawa.
When I don't want to heat up my tawa cause it takes too long. I use a pan
Pan is usually easier for me for some reason lol 🙈
Wow no oil whatsoever? Didnt know
Will be trying this, I never get it right!
Keep practicing... took me a whileeee to get it right
Why you donot buy a tawa
Because she doesn’t want to! And for people like me who are Canadian it isn’t easy to find one
You forgot the all popular..sada roti and butter😁
Actually made that right after I did this video lol
I sure pelt n my tawa 😆
Haven't try in a pan
Give it a try!
