Our family stayed for 4 months in Hongkong in 1976. These robot movies were my favorite TV show. Have many metal robots from these series Mazinger, Getter etc, and brought them back to Indonesia. Sadly when we moved house on 1998 they were all gone. Now watched this at 2024 as a 58 year old man, experience many mixed emotions 😢. Thank you for sharing this video.

As a kid I lumped all of these together as "Shogun Warriors", even with the Godaikin stuff, Godzilla and Rodan. I guess because of the toys. They all existed in the same universe to me.
I wish some of the other giant robot shows came to the US, here in Mass we got force five grandizer, gaiking, getter robo, and danguard ace, voltron came later then of course everthing was overshadowed by the transformers
What about Balatak, Striker Force and Mekanda? I saw most of these shows back in the Philippines in 1978-79 Until Marcos banned them.Grendizer was a sequel to Mazinger Z. Getter Robot also had a sequel show with two of the original pilots and ships and robots were upgraded.

Hey guys. I have been searching for a very old Japanese robot cartoon back in 60s, 70s. Its very similar to the first cartoon shown here (Mazinger z) in that the head of the robot is a spacecraft, and the body of the robot is hidden in the mountains. When they need to fight evil, the headless body will rise from the mountain and connect with the space craft. Appreciate if u guys can help me
