In the Filipino-dubbed, it's "Jet In!" instead of "Just In". Also, the voice command for the Tranzor's transformation is "Daimos! Tranzor Fight!" instead of "Daimos! Battle Turn"
I still prefer the first transformation sequence. Looked so much more badass than the post-overhaul sequence that seemed too stiff and less agile. Either way, Daimos deserves a cool upgrade like Voltes did. Love Japanime forever! Battle Turn!!!

Better yet, the tactically inefficient method of delivery. Too many variables ( flat tire, seat malfunction, missed turn in tunnel) , to be an effective way to activate crucial weapon.

this has to be one of the most complicated robot launching sequences I have ever seen. Can we just keep the car inside the robot? the enemies have a lot of time to attack the pilot while he is outside the robot. and Whats the alternate form function. Does he travel far from its base, is there any reason why it has to be a transforming robot? Love it.
Or how about just allow the pilot to be inside the robot truck to operate it (no need for internal cars) 😅 And dont forget. Weather conditions change so there's a chance that the car may not land properly on the ramp.
I don't remember an enemy ever spotting the "truck" version of the Daimos so it wasn't an issue. Usually these kind of transformation where justified by the fact that the operative robot has some kind of limited operation time.
I think the animators had it easier in this show - I mean, the transformation sequence is already half episode you can just re-run every time, so plenty of room for some slack instead of dying while trying to draw and paint a few extra animation cells for the next week :D
Whats the purpose of the round opening and moving ramp? Why not just have the exit lead directly onto the road? Also why have a separate vehicle? Why not just enter the Tranzor from the beginning?

When it was aired so many years ago in my country, they dubbed it (well, not exactly but it doesn't matter) but left command "Just In" in original. Though it was still pronounced Justin. Finally after so many years, a mystery about where the hell "Justin" come out from suddenly has been resolved :D
Whatched it when I was kid just a couple of episodes since that’s all that was available in my native country. Anyway it’s awesome. I always find it curious how many of the mecha anime around the time used very similar facial features for the main character/ pilot. Here he resembles greatly to the main pilot of Voltes V. Hey even Voltron’s crew it’s a knock off of Voltes V, or maybe Combatler V. Yeah back then it was really cool all the combinations sequence and the soundtracks while it was preparing to fight. Now it’s just silly. Still nostalgic. When Toei animation brought out the Gundam mecha concepts that’s when I saw the real talent of Japanese sci fi animation.
Because all three of them are from the same Romance Robot series, thus the slight similarities in design. Tosho Daimos was the last. All three has some form of romance story in it, and Tosho Daimos is pretty much the Romeo and Juliet one of them.
The "before overhaul" is better imo. I feel the music in the "after" one is in a different, higher key, the one with lower key was better. Though, the transformation sequence in the "after" section is more complete. Anyway, this one was my favorite mecha anime because the plot had it all: political intrigues, betrayal, an incredibly well written love story, with good, bad and in-between people from both sides of the war. It's one of the deepest mecha anime I've ever watched in my childhood.
Even as a kid it irritates me why his car had to jump that ramp, spread it's wings, then just to end up again on a ramp. I thought those rocket boosters(I guess they're really just exhaust pipes) would fire and it will fly to the main body. So many parts where a failure would make a landing miss.
This was so cool watching as a kid. But watching it now, I am thinking "Man there are so many points of failure that could have killed him before he even gets to the fight!"
One of the Japanese comments pointed out that this was likely made due to the popularity of trucks at the time. I guess they thought kids were really into the whole idea of being able to fit a car inside of a truck

GMA-7 of Philippines is planning to release a live-action version of Daimos. Target release is 2026. Fans are debating whether the cockpit in the LA should be a modernized version of the OG or it'll be like a modernized version of the MTS (Mobile Trace System) of the Mobile Fighters in G Gundam
Too many stupid people in here criticizing Daimos transformation sequence like its for real. Its a cartoon show for kids. And we love every second of it when we were young. They must be very fun at parties.
It just feels overly complicated. The car wasn't even necessary. They could have dropped him straight into the Tranzor from the hanger things. Other than that though, it's a great transformation sequence. Though I think they need an alternate one for when they can't get to that cliff. Imagine if all the bad guys needed to do was destroy that piece of real estate?

@@janmontejar5735 Not even . Mazinger Z is the first. 1972. Daimos is 1978. So is voltes. Combattler is 1975. Even Grandizer, which is a Mazinger spinoff, came out before those.
I suspect the 2nd transformation is influenced by the DX Godaikin toy because that's the way the arms are stored because they lacked the engineering technology to make it retract then. The first version was already perfect

当時、筆箱のコンボイというのが、ちょっと流行っていたのを覚えてる、どうもアメリカの映画からコンボイブームがあったみたいね、乗車室の頭部分がボンネット型になったアメリカの長距離トレーラーを模したもので、日本ではあまり見かけない形のものだ、
子供の頃に見ていましたが面白かったです。トレーラー形態に意味があるのか疑問でしたが最終回で解けました。

後に解る話なんだけどアニメの映像通りだとダイモスに変形する時の腕の収納とトランザーの形状では収納はできてないむっちゃ不思議な造りになってて現実のオモチャ化する段階で腕は後から着けるって変形シーンを再現不可能な玩具で困ったちゃんなダイモスでした。
そもそもダイモスの変型は、多分に『アニメのウソ』ありきですからw
トランザー形態とダイモスとでは、頭部と胴体のバランスが全く違う。
トランザー形態のバランスで立体化すると、変型後のダイモスの頭が
