"Robot Romance Trilogy" is a Western fanmade term. In Japan, where it's known as the Nagahama Roman Robo Series, it's actually composed of four TV series: Com-Battler V, Voltes V, Daimos, and Daltanious.
After doing some reading (Japanese wiki), daltanious was somewhat included because of how it's structured and tadao nagahama was involved (although in the jp wiki, it is said his involvement was labeled as halfway). Most of jp sites I visited just puts daltanious as an addendum rather than they're the 4 robots of that series ("can be considered") That said I wonder why they didnt include Daltanious in Alpha 3, where the The first 3 bots has a combination attack... You learn something everyday... neat
These Voltes V Episodes teaches us technological advances not yet fully developed by Mankind, concepts like Warp Drive, Quantum Space Time Travel, Electromagnetic Wave Energy and Planet weapon destroyer but already invented by Boazanian civilization thousands of years earlier coincidentally also introduced by Star Wars in the same year 1977.
The animation was really well done. The only nitpick would be with Daimos. In truck mode the head separates from the neck and is connected by a pivot point to the head's wheel assembly. It's basically a really big tractor trailer. Without that type of connection, the truck can't turn. Otherwise, great job. I watched all three of these animes as a kid in the late 70's, and have good memories of all of them. Thanks for the video.

Ok, for a sec I was expecting Vehicle Voltron base on the vid teaser, and that parts of it reminded me of the air and sea team’s components- head, legs, and the plane that’s part of the chest.
The real trilogy is exactly in this order: Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger/ Mazinkaiser, and the last is UFO Grendizer/Goldrake/Goldorak. Yan ang original trilogy.
