I recall something about the map sea monsters being removed to avoid confusion that the players would be able to fight them. It would also make sense to hide DLC themes, tho. 🤔
Especially considering how merman-like Godwyn's soulless husk looks. Deathroot cultivates well within crabs in particular, which means that Godwyn's influence could spread across the sea, potentially into foreign lands. I smell sequel bait.

I want a meteorite or a moon crashing on the sea and gravity magic terraforming in a way that it looks like moses opening the sea. You could see water elevators and walls of water were you could see through all the sea creatures.
The moon and water are closely connected in some way. The Carians built circular pools specifically to reflect the moon. I've always thought maybe the reflection acted as a portal for them to go there. There's also the inverted tower which has a similar theme of traversing the reflection. The sky and the cosmos are one.
If we consider the huge influence alchemy has on this game you can consider the connection of Sun/Faith/Fire/Sulfur and Moon/Intelligence/Water/Mercury and how they are opposites to each other. in this way you can see how water is also tied to the moon. Water is also tied to Scarlet Rot. In Shinto beliefs, flowing water is said to get rid of impurities whereas stagnant water breeds disease and curses. Scarlet Rot and Poison only exist in places where water doesn't flow and the Blue Dancer Charm talisman talks about how the blind swordsman that taught Malenia was taught by a blue river fairy to fight with a flowing sword to purify the stagnation.
I like how you quoted the choir in this. I believe elden ring seeks to connect the soulsverse, godwyns crucible changing into a waterlike dead god reminds me of the dream that aldrich had leading to a deep sea prophecy he concluded upon
Godwyn's aquatic death theming is reminiscent to me of Aldrich's coming age of deep waters from DS3. I love how From revisits and reimagines ideas again and again, and yet keeps them fresh!

I sure got so excited seeing all the wrecked ships, and was absolutely certain something would come up out of the sea in the area on Weeping Peninsula where all the corpses are just meandering on the beach. Another point towards water/ocean=world of the dead is that in Celtic lore, Manannan mac Lir is someone akin to the lord of the dead, and he lives in the ocean, which to him appears like a field full of magical horses that can traverse both land and water. Definitely has me thinking of the field of wheat, and all the horseshoes on posts in the image we have for the dlc.. 👀
Wouldn’t even be surprised if the hydra makes a new appearance and that’s the jumping off point for taking a boat to somewhere “under the shadow of the erdtree;)”
@@Tale_swapperthey missed a great opportunity to combine Hydra from Ds1 and old king from Ds2. There's an interview Miyazaki did with Edge magazine before the game came out that actually validates your theory. In the interview Miyazaki was asked about the importance of water in the narrative and he said it was very important but didn't give away too much in the way of story details.
I’m surprised at how quickly you brushed over the elden beast fight. I think the arena and form the elden beast takes ties super well into the theme of the ocean being tied with a spirit world.
The world of the dead being connected to water is definitely interesting and fitting. The ocean deep is to us such an unknown place, and just like death, diving into the dark is a terrifying mystery.
Ever since DS3 I want an ocean themed DLC or even game by From Software. Cause one of the most fascinating lore aspects of DS3 was Aldrichs Age of the Deep Sea to me. So I really hope they make use of that massive ocean surrounding The Lands Between.
As a student of marine bio, I really love how the majority of aquatic horrors in these games are invertebrates like crustaceans and mollusks. They're amazing creatures, and I love fighting giant versions of them 💖
I can definitely see water playing an important part in the DLC. The Lands Between are beset with kegare - the defilement and pollution of death (among other pollutants created during the shattering). Godwyn’s body is itself kegare as a result of his murder and spreads through the lands. Still water is a marker and breeding ground for kegare as well - most all those tainted places have still waters except for places we transition from one place to another *in a coffin* on a waterfall. To clear kegare the one responsible for it must be the one to purify it through rituals involving clean moving water like rivers and waterfalls. Though the Tarnished was not directly involved, as Elden Lord they could represent the avatar of responsibility and thus be tasked with clearing the corruption of kegare throughout the Lands. Food for thought! (Or Water, that is).
A quick theory that just popped in my mind: Maybe the reason why there are no marine creatures is because of the foggy clouds we see on the map. Maybe since the elden ring was shattered, the lands between may have gotten abandoned and isolated because of the fog that surrounds it after the shattering and also explains the name of the lands between, a land between the oceans of two other lands. The reason why the mariner creatures died is because they may have not have the ability of crossing the fog and because of that they may loose their food and stuff. I just made this outta nowhere.
Sea/Large/deep bodies of water have been a pretty consistent theme in Fromsoft games, hopefully with the dlc they explore it. I want some waterthemed Elden Ring bosses.
Given how the combat system works, I imagine any deep sea bosses we’ll fight will be stranded on a beach, or perhaps the Tarnished can jump into a unique underwater boss arena that lets us breath safely?
The water in the Elden Beast and Rennala fight more so I think has to do with their back story. Rennala is the Queen of the Moon, The Elden Beast seemingly comes from space. The water maybe there because the Moon can manipulate the currents in the Oceans. I also wonder if there will be different paths you can go down based on which ending you selected. Maybe more watery content for finishing Rani’s quest line.
Its crazy how much water we have in the map but we cant explore it, talking about these games, almost everything is there for a lore reason, specially in elden ring where you can “go there if you see it”, so i find strange how big and detailed the map is when you open it but can’t access to those places… yet
" where you can “go there if you see it” yup, this statement applies the most to ER than almost all the other games combined! even ds1 doesnt even come close to matching up to it in that regard. hopefully well get ocean themed areas in the dlc.
I remember coming across ur channel a while ago and u only had maybe 10 or 15,000 subscribers. I hopped on pretty early and have watched u grow and get better with each video. Granted u had some theories that I couldn’t get behind but it’s good to see u get bigger and bigger. I’m sure if not before the dlc or even armored core u will hit 100k my guy. Keep up the good work bro
Hell yeah. I could totally imagine a Titanic sized wooden fantasy ship with several floors to explore. Splinter Cell Double agent had a 2 missions that took place on a huge ships and Shadow of the Tomb Raider also had an optional area that was a big old ship. I adore this kind of stuff.
Since Dark Souls 2 the Deep Sea theme with underwater temples, that also came in Bloodborne with the Eldritch Great Ones, and Dark Souls 3 with the "The Deep" and the so called Age of the Deep Sea, and Elden Ring with many aquatic like enemies. Im convinced that we will explore the Deep accursed Eldritch Sea one day as a full fledged game.
This is gonna sound strange so bear with me. It's all just speculation based off some old cut content I don't really see many people talk about. (probably because it's not very well known) Umibozu could also be a remnant of DS3 since development took place congruently, as such there are a ton of ideas that bled over from one to the other. For example, I've seen a few early beta maps of DS3 and in areas where giant enemy crabs should be, there's a completely different enemy altogether. These maps are left over from a state of development when the crabs didn't exist in DS3. So I have a good reason to believe that the crabs are actually an Elden Ring asset and didn't actually originate from DS3 because they are the only enemy in the game that not only makes zero sense in the world but still has the same stagger mechanic that their ER counterpart does. Now, how does this relate to Umibozu? Well, in DS3 the older version of the Aldrich boss fight was very similar to the Phalanx fight in Demon's Souls. He would crawl from out of his coffin halfway through the fight with the Decons of the Deep and just sludge around like a blob while the congregation takes the offense. When the game's story changed entirely they needed a new boss to be in Anor Londo, they shuffled a few things around and Frankensteined a new Aldrich boss using already existing assets. (The top half of Lothric wearing a funny hat and some slime enemies all mashed together) In the lore, this Aldrich makes mention of having "dreams of a deep sea" so if we take this bit of info and add the old version of the boss you get something that's supposed to be an Umibozu type monster. That old ER map could have been from a period of development where it was a reference to that version of him. If future DLC does involve the sea, I think whatever version of Aldrich that used to be in DS3 will show up again in ER. From isn't above reusing unfinished ideas in DLC or future games. I mean, literally every game is filled with reused assets. Even ER's compass is in an old build of Bloodborne and it would be used while exploring the Chalice Dungeons, which not surprisingly used to be part of the main overworld like they are in ER. I don’t know, maybe that all sounds way too stupid. Lol
Roderica came to the lands bewteen from outside via ship. I think she is the only tarnished that came from the present while all other tarnished traveled from the past.
@@LordOfChaos.x I would say that when it comes to Okina we can't claim for sure that he was tarnished. I don't think it is ever mentioned in the game and he never visits the roundtable hall. I don't think it was ever mentioned either that only tarnished can become bloody fingers. When it comes to the samurai class.. well it is a person who comes from the Land of Reeds but perhaps we could argue that he came to the Lands Between in the times of Godfrey and then was banished alongside with him?
I was honestly hoping the game would have a lot more sea monster themes and even areas in it when I first saw the corpse of Godwin under Stormvaile. Even the axe of Godfrey has a spiky tentacle motive on it.
Another thought is that when you get in coffins in the underground you’re pushed off down water falls to reach the city where Godfrey’s body and the undead dragon are. And there are other coffins left opened and closed at the base of the waterfalls meaning people had a habit of casting the dead and those seeking death off in to water to the depths
I know these games are all about overcoming unsurmountable challenges. But I think it would be pretty ridiculous if a tarnished went on a boat to defeat a giant sea abomination without being instantly sunk into the depths of the ocean. I mean, you can't roll on water.
I love how one of the only sea or water Monsters that we see are crabs, land octopus and crayfish and they are colossal, imagine the rest of the creatures we have no knowledge of.
Technicly we also have Basilisks. Yeah they dont seem to have much to so with water but In Real life Basilisk Lizards (also known as Jeesus Lizards) can run on water.
Great video as usual very thought provoking. Made me think of the fact we literally begin each journey laying in water. Water as symbology is replete across numerous art forms. Always enjoy the content and the considerable effort to bring something worthy to the laden table of ER topics.
Ive platinumed this game and have put over 400 plus hours into it and I've never noticed the waterfall that connects Caelid and the Mountaintops, not on the map nor in person in game. That's wild
I don't have anything to back this up, but wouldn't it be interesting if the DLC is a mirror version of The Lands Between, the spirit world, of the whole map, NPC and bosses? I get the feeling the DLC will be huge, even if it's not that huge, but I'd pay another $60 if the DLC was as big as the base game. Just saying. Maybe even involve the removed dream mechanics, idk.
As someone with pretty severe thalassophobia I really hope there aren't deep sea monsters in the DLC, unless you can fight them above ground or in shallow water. Sekiro was terrifying enough having to swim by the giant fish, but if Elden Ring DLC features any underwater sections or ocean traversal I may not be able to bring myself to play it. P.S. Thanks for introducing me to my new nightmare, Omibozu; that's creepy as hell and I'd shit my pants if I saw that in a game. 😅
I’m right there with you man. I had to put a video on my other screen during that part of Sekiro and even then I was terrified beyond rational thought. I want like hell not to have to deal with the ocean in ER.
Same here, deep/unclear underwater is my nightmare. As a kid I was scared of every "big water" moment. For example in Crash Bandicoot 3 there was an underwater map and "middle of the ocean" map. NOPE
@@eloryansuavo Yeah water has always freaked me out too. My big "nope" moment was playing Star Wars Shadows of the Empire on N64. There's a sewer level and the water is murky and nasty and if you fall in there are monsters that try to kill you. I managed the whole level without falling in but when you walk into the final boss area it's a closed chamber that starts filling with water. You HAVE to go underwater to fight the giant monster. The very first time I saw the room filling with water I paused the game and quit the level.
@@The_Gaba_Ghoul Ah man, sorry to hear that. The only way I was able to do it was to look a video up online of someone playing that section just to see what would happen first. It was still terrifying when I did it but at least I knew what was coming, so at least the element of surprise was gone
@@superpunkgohan yeah everything surrounding the great carp was pure terror, even the feeding times and especially when it smashes that bridge. I did everything I could to kill that thing the as soon as possible, and even tried for a long time to find a cheese jump to the feeding area without swimming through. I’ve played through Sekiro enough now where generally I know now how to pass through that area with minimal exposure, but there’s still major anxiety about it when swimming out to that rooftop with the old lady on it to get the carp in position. God, fuck fountainhead.
What I think about the relationship with Rennala and the water in the boss fight is because at this stage of the fight she is able to summon spirits, so it kind of makes sense.
for all lore freaks out there: Ive got theory about origins of the Lands between- its just another age in the very same world that dark souls took place. Wait what? How? So in dark souls when the age of dragons ended, next was age of fire, when the age of fire ended, the age of darkness has started. One of the elder snakes forseen the future and said that after age of darkness next will be the age of water. So it could have been previous age to the actuall age we see in Elden ring, which is the age of Trees.
Considering the world of the living as we know it is called "The Lands Between", the world of Death might be called "The Seas Below" or some such. That would also make the cosmos the realm of the gods, "The Stars Above" if you will, which DEFINITELY checks out, considering most of the Outer Gods are themed on celestial objects. Blessings rain from the sky, while Death and curses pool beneath the world.
The other significance water has is it’s connection to scarlet rot… Melania’s mentor was had a flowing water style, hence her learning waterfowl dance, it’s believed the flowing nature of water helped her fight off the rot as something that is stagnant by nature
What if the reson for all the ship wreaks. Along with the big water fall, and water/death related stuff, is because there was like a water god who lowered the sea level suddenly. Or because the tide being connected to the moon might have something to do with Radon and Ronnie quest line, and releasing the stars
It is highly likely that the rusted anchor references our boat and that we never left in very early builds of the game, as the Kenneth haight’s father’s quest dictates as he says he was surprised to see a tarnished as they all left on the boats, except for us apparently
In my opinion you're missing the mark a little bit on death and it's connection to water. Life and death is a cycling process in ER lore. The Ed Tree is a force that manipulates that process (manipulates water) for its own purposes. The moon and ocean symbolize the water cycle in a natural state without outside interference. Stagnant water (Rot) symbolizes a complete halt of the process, letting unsavory things develop. Cursed water (those who live in death) is water that moves around but is unable to fulfill its purpose of restoring life. The Frenzied Flame wants to remove water all together and be done with the processes of life and death. And from what I gather The Lord of Blood wants to replace water (a spiritual force) with blood (and purely physical force) Basically Life completely without death. But I'm not very confident on this last point.
Some time ago you made a video about from soft's future speculating there could be a deep sea themed game by from soft and I feel strongly about it, I think from soft is testing things for now and such a game can be seen in the far future
Ive seen people mention the unused Umibozu, but not really connected it directly with the corpse of Godwyn under the capital. Out of everything in game that we can see, to me he seems to fit the description best. Maybe early plans intended for a different use instead of just a set piece, after all we do fight the other children of Marika one way or another.
I'm pretty sure that in Elden Ring water is a resource needed to support massive soul arts for both sorceries and incantations. That's why you fight Rennala and the Nebula Dragon on top of what seems like a lake. The same thing happens with the golden holo version of Godfrey since right under the platform where the fight takes place there are massive water pools.
Knowing there are ship wrecks yet The Lands Between has no harbor at all, really makes me wondering what's life out of the Lands Between. Is there any entity similar to the Greater Will out there? Or is there a continent that dedicated to worship one God or one belief only? Or even an entity that has bigger influence than The Greater Will itself? Is there an event similar to The Shattering that its still going on out there? How differ or how far the civilization out there compared to The Lands Between?
we know a little bit the land to the north is filled with mercenaries the land of the samurai is "the Land of Blood" and is likely ruled by The Great Mother (the same one Mohg prays to)
Awesome video i hope we get some deep sea boss fights somehow,we go everywhere to every peak in elden ring from underground to way high in the mountains and everywhere in between besides the sea and as scary and as much as deep sea imagery and potential boss fight is freaky to me im crazy excited to see that potentially
West of the church of Ella, along the beach not far from the sleeping Kaiden enemy is a mysterious purple cloud mass that rest at the edge where the shore line and drop off meet. It's isolated in a particular area and doesn't spread away from that spot. I suggest going at night despite it being visible during the day just to get a better view of it. I have always found it strange that this foggy mass just sat there but with all you have brought to light perhaps this may have a connection.
Good eye, looking at it right now and it is super weird. It almost looks like something that was supposed to go along the whole shoreline that was removed? Hard to imagine they'd miss such a big chunk if so Weird
Well, there's the themes of flowing water symbolizing life and stagnant water, death. That doesn't explain much beyond the theming of Godwyn, but the oceans are far more still than they once were, going by the map and what we actually see when exploring. The great falls seem to be a sort of barrier to prevent entry to Leyndell via the sea. If we're to accept the idea of the Lands Between being the inner world of the mind, then the ships, whirlpools, and sea serpents can symbolize ideas that are having trouble reaching consciousness. So the falls could symbolize the core beliefs being closed off.
I definitely think that the DLC will have to explore something with water. The little information we have so far about the DLC is all connected someway to water, if losely. Miquella is connected to spirits who have connections to water, which you covered in the video. Miquella is also connected to Godwyn who is seen as this fish monster almalgam because of his body not dying, which is connected to death root, which effects water. It seems like the DLC will take place in a spirit world, which has themes of water. And I could go on, like with Miquellas connect to the eclipse and bringing back the dead, etc, etc. While the sea and water may not be the MAIN theme of this upcoming DLC, it will probably be tied to it in a way that means it must be explored.
They haven't just set it up in Elden Ring, they've been setting it up since Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3 and especially BloodBorne, where there are some very strong connections between the dpeths of the ocean and primordial truths and eldritch creatures. I wouldn't be surprised (and even be really happy) if either this DLC turns out to have some oceanic connections or if From is even going to fully lean into it and make a game fully dedicated to the murky depths.
Just as the Erdtree/Greattree represents one order life and death in-game, so does water and the ocean. In traditional Judeo-Christian cosmology, outer space was seen as a great ocean divided from the terrestrial sphere by the firmament, but was also connected to earth’s oceans deep below. We know that in Elden Ring, there is latent life in the stars, and they, as well as the sorceries derived from their power, stem from the Primeval Current, which seems to be the metaphysical source of all souls. In the Lands Between, there are many different kinds of death rituals, from Erdtree Burial to Ghostflame cremation, but one that isn’t talked about often is aquatic burial. All throughout the underground, we can find coffins that drifted through the Ainsel and Siofra rivers, as well as many more at their source, the Nameless Eternal City. Where else would these rivers flow but the ocean? We can also find identical coffins in the cave we wake up in at the beginning, which is connected to a beach and likely floods at high tide. There’s also evidence of similar aquatic burials deep below Stormveil, but their route to the sea has been blocked by the head of Godwyn. The aquatic connections continue with Rennala and Ranni, as both are shown atop infinite oceans with their respective moons.
Rennala constantly being revived might have to do with her being in the water if it's a crossing that she can go back and forth from through rebirth Amazing video, been pondering the seas in ER for a hot minute now, really hoping to get some aquatic themes in the DLC
With the chairs in the water and the numerous boats wrecked just off shore and that waterfall, it gives me the impression the land was once much larger and got flooded for some reason.
Knowing the history and relationship between Japan & China I can't help but speculate that terrifying monster to the East is Fromsoft's way of telling China not to tread on them. Also given this is the Chinese/Asia build of the game, the emphasis in oceanic themes/monsters does not surprise me.
I think there will possibly be many expansions to Elden Ring. They did talk about keeping it profitable for the foreseeable future. The only way to do that is with multiple large expansions.
I think if they want to keep Elden Ring going as an IP they should just update and expand the base game and not release a full second title, and then I think they can be fully done with the Dark Souls RPG style of game and move on to other things
@@joeyjones9041 yeah something a kin to World of Warcraft. But single player focused obviously. I really like the idea of expanding the game instead of sequeling.
about the Rennala Arena: the boss we are fighting is something like a spirit/ghost (from what I gathered with Ranni's interference in the fight), also she is the "Queen of the full Moon". Us seeing a full moon in the Arena could be a hint on the gravitational pull on water, bringing the high tide and the border between the worlds closer so she can summon her Spirits to protect and fight for her.
I imagine the lakes in liernia used to be quite a bit deeper. It seems like the center of the Elden Ring map isn’t a proper part of the ocean. If the Shadow of the erdtree poster is a dramatization of the in game area. I reckon the lake of liernia drained into this now submerged play space.
Even though i couldnt imagine breaking the lore down in the depth that you do, on my first play through i too found this water theme. When i reached elden beast i thought wow this is the big reveal, like bloodborne's twist. I was disappointed of course and didnt really think much more of it. I would love for the dlc to revolve around this and the story/dream of miquella.
Never had a water area in any Souls game...but in Sekiro swimming was already implemented pretty effortlessly. Watery Underworld confirmed! I wonder how well Cthulhu bleeds...
What's also interesting: When you are at the cliff near the Bestial Sanctum and look in the direction of Farum Azula you can see something growing out of the water. Thanks to the rain it's hard to spot, though.
There's one thing though: Sea/deep themed DLC would literally be the third time in a row that a From DLC is about or brushes this aesthetic. DS3 (murkmen) and, much more clearly, BB did this, so that it kinda detracts a bit from the potential novelty of it in ER.

A quick theory that just popped in my mind:
Maybe the reason why there are no marine creatures is because of the foggy clouds we see on the map.
Exploring some sort of ocean or flooded underwater caves with giant sea creatures in the background would be amazing.
Sekiro dies -> arises in The Lands Between as a tarnished -> teaches us how to swim and dive -> profit
Why there's already one mini boss that you fight in water granted it's not deep but still
The water in the Elden Beast and Rennala fight more so I think has to do with their back story.
The amount of detail in this game is staggering. How they keep it all together as a development staff is even more so.
Aldrich’s age of deep water has finally come!!!
I appreciate that you are continuing to ask these questions. I find it absurd that people seem to think there are not more lore answers to find.
We need a legacy dungeon that is a ship!
Where did we have an underwater temple in DS2?
This is gonna sound strange so bear with me. It's all just speculation based off some old cut content I don't really see many people talk about. (probably because it's not very well known)
Umibozu could also be a remnant of DS3 since development took place congruently, as such there are a ton of ideas that bled over from one to the other.
Samurai class is also from present and okina too
@@LordOfChaos.x I would say that when it comes to Okina we can't claim for sure that he was tarnished.
@@LordOfChaos.x Actually what am I talking about? All bloody fingers had to be tarnished because they all sacrificed a maiden to join.
I was honestly hoping the game would have a lot more sea monster themes and even areas in it when I first saw the corpse of Godwin under Stormvaile. Even the axe of Godfrey has a spiky tentacle motive on it.
I miss the Closed Netwrok test PVP ahaha, it was so fun that no one really knew what they were doing
I'm still convinced that one beach with all the walking dead has to have something going on no ones just figured it out yet lol
"If you enjoy these lore DEEP DIVES..." heh, I see what you did there
big ups hate army
I hope so
@@loureed1226 good vibes to the hate army
if only there was a really powerful mentor who utilizes a sword based on flowing water.
This actually sounds awesome. I would love to have a sea monster/ocean themed DLC, that would be so cool!
That's wild
Ever since Ash Lake I’ve wanted an ocean focused DLC. Blood borne just exacerbated that feeling lol
Not only is Umibozu a sicc name, the “monster habitat do not approach” is also horrifying. Let’s go OCEAN MONSTERS
I wonder if the boats will eventually be usable in game in the dlc
Edit: Perhaps the use of water could tie in with lovecraftian themes???
They better be
Coffins
Would be sweet
@@jesusisunstoppable4438 eh, they're a bit rocky for boats.
Godfrey's Axe has an octopus/tentacle motif that is rarely discussed.
What I think about the relationship with Rennala and the water in the boss fight is because at this stage of the fight she is able to summon spirits, so it kind of makes sense.
for all lore freaks out there:
Ive got theory about origins of the Lands between- its just another age in the very same world that dark souls took place. Wait what?
You mentioned the Octopus.. but even scarier are the Shellfish! Those Lobster snipers and DS3 Crabs, O My.
3:49 this picture elicits a very strange and uniquely spooky feeling in me for some reason
I wonder if they will do anything about the massive whirlpool south of Mt. Gelmir as it looks to have a massive stone or ship in the middle of it.
One of the best lore videos to date, another great video!
Those umibozu images are cursed.
Oh hell na i aint fighting godwyn in a terrifying form😂
This is it-this is the vid I've been waiting for! Give me that sweet sweet deep sea lore
How differ or how far the civilization out there compared to The Lands Between?
we know a little bit
the land to the north is filled with mercenaries
the land of the samurai is "the Land of Blood" and is likely ruled by The Great Mother (the same one Mohg prays to)
The monsters of all time!
Hard to imagine they'd miss such a big chunk if so
Weird
Yeah it's been bugging for a while and when I came across this video figured I'd share.
So on the map alone theres lots of boats and whirlpools and clouds and tiny places everywhere, i wonder if those will all be accesible in the dlc
You think the banished knights and storm king might have been from overseas? Wind powers would be useful for sailboats.
Rennala constantly being revived might have to do with her being in the water if it's a crossing that she can go back and forth from through rebirth
Amazing video, been pondering the seas in ER for a hot minute now, really hoping to get some aquatic themes in the DLC
This video feels like squeezing toothpaste out of a spent tube in the morning.
It’s like a whole new world opened up.
The idea of getting some ocean related content is extremely exciting!
Also given this is the Chinese/Asia build of the game, the emphasis in oceanic themes/monsters does not surprise me.
brilliantly and uniquely american dumb comment
Thank you for these videos, I think you have the best Elden Ring content on the platform.
3:48 THAT JUMP SCARED THE SHT OUT OF ME!
I need more lore on the Deep from dark souls
I think having water in Rennalas stage fits the theme since the moon is associated with rise and fall of tides
I think there will possibly be many expansions to Elden Ring. They did talk about keeping it profitable for the foreseeable future. The only way to do that is with multiple large expansions.
That would be cool, every two years release a huge, absolutely huge DLC, I'd be down for that.
Thanks!
This dlc needs to come out. Elden Ring content creators are starving
Probably late but congrats on 100k subscribers! That's incredible!
Sea monsters being cut content makes sense because there’s a beach where a big group of the zombie-like enemies kind of just wander around
Easily the best souls lore channel, man.
Me: I love Elden Ring and any new content is awesome!
Also me who has crippling fear of the ocean:
So...how do the land octopi fit into this?
There's one thing though: Sea/deep themed DLC would literally be the third time in a row that a From DLC is about or brushes this aesthetic. DS3 (murkmen) and, much more clearly, BB did this, so that it kinda detracts a bit from the potential novelty of it in ER.
Great video! I really hope they expand on some of these themes in the DLC.
Great video.
The character creation mentions crossing seas in the Seafarer description as well.
There's also the fact that the crimson rot causes the land to take on a more sea-like appearance, with coral and whatnot
