I love how 20 years later he's still so enthusiastic about the role.
I like how the older he gets, the more raspy and worn his joker voice is, it ages like fine wine to me
Coz joker's character has so many iterations in movies and videogames
You do know he is still playing the character right
his life is only successful for 2 reasons, so ofc he'd be
Well after starwars that was the only other real acting gig he had
You can't spell Mark Hamill without arkham.
Holy shit
Holy shit is right!
Woah! Mind blown!
Whoa, cant unsee this!
holy fuck
"The Joker is too high profile. I can't do it, because everyone has an idea of how The Joker should sound."
"But now that idea is You."
What a badass, honorable thing to hear. when you set the standard, and a high one, for a huge fandom.
+Charlezard "Well...."I love how he looks so humble at first then smiles sweetly. Taking the complement for all its worth.
+Charlezard He's also so humble after the monologue, smiling and immediately mouthing "Paul Dini wrote that".
+Charlezard Well executed compliment without coming off like a kiss-ass
+Charlezard Truer words...rarely spoken.
Heath ledger was so amazing, so brilliant, so revolutionary but mark is just so classic. When i read joker in the comics the voice is always marks. He is so brilliant in such a archetypal way.
He never grows tired of doing these monologues to fans does he? Amazing dedication.
+baverfjant I wouldn't.
That what makes him very likable and popular, he knows what the fans want... And he does it so well... Mark Hamill is thee best!
its awesome how most celebs want to be low profile and aren't into obsessed fans
but Mark is always being funny and talking and everything
Well, this is more fun than being asked to do the "NOOOOOOO" scene again and again.
I think that's because he is as much of a fanboy as his fans are, so he gets where they are coming from. Love that man.
Mark Hamill's version of the Joker is pure genius all the way; I remember being completely shocked as a kid, to learn that "Luke Skywalker" was the Clown Prince of Crime.
My mind was BLOWN!!!
Mark Hamill is incredible when you watch him voice act. The facial expressions, the presence he creates.
+Stefano Pavone hey, in what anime did he dub/voice act?
this is how every voice actor whos not shit looks when doing voices. facial expression is a huge part of the voices you make, as well as actually being INTO the acting.
It's part of the reason its a tragedy he hasn't played an older joker in a movie. Not bashing Nicholson or Ledger's performances, I just would have liked to see Mark pull it off live-action.
But the facial expressions are irrelevant when he's a voice actor.
@@Savage-- live action Batman Beyond him as Joker. Kevin Conroy as old man Wayne.
when you realize that moment where Luke is actually more psychotic than Darth Sidious
Ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the good laugh!
This man's voice IS the joker.
Jeff Cosman arkham knight
eiji niizuma and The Animated Series and a few animated films I believe
Oh yeah lol I forgot about that
In a tragic plot twist, Luke Skywalker's long isolation has driven him mad, and Mark Hamill plays the entire role from Star Wars VIII on in character as the Joker.
Oh my God take all my money if that happens
DO IT!
Britt Gardner I want to double like this
He kind of does actually. Listen to the new trailer. He sounds like he's doing the Joker in it.
So many lines he speaks in that trailer could fit perfectly over Joker clips.
Britt Gardner something like that.
"There's no way I could do that and satisfy everybody"
Oh, Mr. Hamill... if only you knew back then.... You were about to rock a lot of worlds as that character.
If he knew, he wouldn't have been as relaxed and we might never have heard of Hamill as the Joker
@@Zerpderp0 i call it...the joker paradox.
@@VimyGlide so crazy it just works
Luke Skywalker put him on the map.
Joker made him a legend.
Mark Hamill, you brought to life one of the sickest villains the world could ever ask for in a way no one else could.
Thank you.
You sure it's 'one of the sickest villains' ? I think his performance made the Joker the greatest and sickest villain ever.
@@CryingZombie666 johan liebert is better
Anyone else smile when Mr. Hamill stood up to perform?
You could see when he switched to joker mode, I got a stupid smile when I saw it
I did not smile, but I was happy inside :)
TOTALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The way he says "sure!" so excitedly at 4:56 is gold. He just _loves_ his fans.
From ear to ear!
"Everyone has an idea of how the Joker should sound"
"And now... that idea is YOU!"
That is SO true!!! xD
Mark's Joker has gotten better as he's gotten older the raspy-ness helps a lot.
Agreed, it makes him sound much more sadistic and evil.
You can tell it in his voice in the Arkham games
I had goosebumps while he recited that. Amazing.
@Lucus King Ah, the memories.....................
Not just the voice, but Mark Hamill's portrayal is the definitive portrayal. He balanced him perfectly between dangerous and whimsical. Jack Nicholson was too whimsical and Heath Ledger was too dangerous.
William Yount well said sir!
William Yount I don't think either of them were "too" anything to be honest. They fit the universe they were in. It's mostly about which one was your favourite.
Charizarzar You my friend, speak the truth.
Charizarzar i was actually quite surprised at how much i liked john dimaggio, it´s just the one "movie" but i still think he gets overlooked a little bit sometimes. but i have to agree with your statement, all 3 of them are/were incredible (in fact im quite sure that ledger went a little bit too deep down the rabbit hole).
some shoes to fill for leto, i just hope its better than what i´ve already heard^^ that kind of sounds like the joker i do and personally i expect better XD
Charizarzar yep
These days, when I think of Mark Hamill, I don't picture Luke Skywalker... I picture the Joker.
I think that is the case with all nerds. I bet the general audience that will view Star Wars 7 a year from now will think he hasn't really done a thing since then. We all know better. He's played some of THE ABSOLUTE BIGGEST BASTARDS in animated history.
same here he knows how to put a smile on my face :P
Menhtrol Or instill terror in your heart....or both. :) Such is the way of the Joker and psychotic fire wielding cousin from another dimension, Ozai.
After watching this it’s impossible not to. The man is the Joker. Fact.
Both Mark Hamill AND Heath Ledger were iconic as the Joker. Hamill for portraying him as a funny lunatic, while Ledger portrayed a more sinister (and dark) version comic book fans have known for years. No need to hate on either because each actor did Joker great.
***** Hamill's was an insane psychopath. Just play the Arkham series he was chilling.
Awesome 45 True, he was evil in the Arkham games, but this is more of a comparison of what made Hamill famous in the DC cartoons. Hamill will always be remembered for his role in the Batman cartoon. More so than the videogames.
*****i'd say he's most remembered for a certain tatooine farm boy. 1st
Is that acting or is that f*****g acting?!!
Mark is much more than just a 'voice' actor.. That's the real deal right there!
Absolute quality.
what did we do to deserve and have Mark Hamill in our reality?
Damn I don't know...
We invented Pringles!
+CuriousDave alright, I'll give you that
Something magnificent
we let him be an actor
I like how Hamill is as much of a geek as the rest of us.
Hamill...you...are my number one...guy!
...And I!
AND I~!!!!!!!!!!! \(^O^)/
***** No Im mad (B()
And DeAd (B()
But mad as well (B()
+Tahkaullus01 heh. i get it.
And my Axe!!!!!
When I found out as a kid that Mark Hamill was the Joker, I then understood that he was much more than a guy on a screen and a true thespian.
Age or no, with his voice he brought drama to a show that wanted drama and to entertain children, but his voice and his passion truly brought in more. Only as an adult can I see the difference between Luke and the Joker. As a kid I would never have believed, even if I knew it were true. This is the difference between a actor (Hamill), super star, and a star. Hamill is an actor, and truly one that has done his duty for those who wish to be entertained.
holdmyhandtv In 1996 when Wing Commander IV: The Price of Freedom was coming out, he was interviewed and it was mentioned that he had voiced over 200 cartoon characters at that time. On IMDB it lists him as 267 credits. I agree, this guys has certainly entertained us.
holdmyhandtv from Star wars and many other TV series I saw him in the flash three years ago as the trickster and then I looked at a flash clip from 1990 and there he was again as the same character!!
I still say that it would be amazing if during episode 7 Luke went to the dark side. Started talking in that joker voice and was named Darth Joker.
LOOOOL
Baby Joker I would love a gag reel or bluray extra with him breaking into Joker voice during a scene (like a joke take where he just does it without telling anyone)
The blooper reel in Episode 7 must have one of these!
Baby Joker in The Flash he had times when he was scary
Baby Joker ahhhhh i had that in mind
You know what I love about Mark Hamill? He really puts the 'fun' in funeral.
not as fun as a therapist that takes the word for his profession too seriously

mARK HAMill
I just realised that Arkham is in Mark Hamill's name. Mind.. is.. blown!
Holy shit!! thats awesome.
***** OH MY GOD
O_O
HOLY SH*T!!!
Love it. Nice spot.
it's always interesting to watch a performer go into character. mark just becomes a different person right in front of your eyes
There are 3 types of Jokers: theLedger Joker, the Nicholson Joker and the Hamill Joker. They are too different to be compared with or against eachother. I've grown up with these 3 Jokers and they all play their parts perfectly.
well said. its the perfect trinity of jokers.
You ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?
you forgot Cesar Romero, the original Joker.
And the million other versions of the joker across all comic book storylines
Did anyone else notice that Mark Hamill has arkham in his name?
... I'll be honest. You blew my mind. Thank you mysterious and handsome stranger.
Well shit now I can't un-notice it.
and also... ill. Arkham and ill.
Oh my god!
My mind is totally blown!
I will never unsee that!
Mind=blown
*spits out drink* Tim Curry was almost the Joker?!?!?!?!
puppymolly123 So sad what happened to Tim Curry.
What happened to Tim Curry?
1978rharris
He had a stroke :'(
puppymolly123 I'm sure Tim Curry has been happy with what Mark Hamill did with the character.
George Daugherty
Oh I'm sure he is, and honestly the better man got the role, but hearing Tim Curry's voice out of that character still sounds like it would have been awesome!
The "original" voice actor Mark is talking about that he replaced was Tim Curry. He voiced Captain Hook in "Peter Pan and the Pirates"
Fun Fact
Yeah, the thing is, the voice Tim tried to do made him cough like crazy.
Mic Roe Pony I heard it was because his voice was deemed too scary and unclown like.
Doctor Bane
really unclown like?? "it" still gives me nightmares, and ive been deployed
A "Killing Joke" animated movie has been announced and guess who is voicing Joker...
HeheheheehheheheAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAH.
Webshooters1 NO FUCKING WAY!!!!!
get out!!! HIM!?!
i can tell this will be the greatest batman movie ever made. mark hamil.... IS the joker to me.
supersmashbro596
Yep, Hamil already said he wants to do an animated version of "The Killing Joke" and DC would be idiots not to take him up on his offer. Now they need is Kevin Conroy and it'll be perfect.
Webshooters1 how about as many vas from the animated series? (yeah im including the new adventures as part of the animated series btw :p)
supersmashbro596
I consider all of TNBA as part of the animated series haha.
But yeah, I would like to see the original VA for Jim Gordon and Batgirl return.
heath ledger played an anarchist , jack nicholson played a gangster but mark hammil was the joker.
+burningknight7 but jack nicholson gave away free money.
+Ahsan Ali Well shit, Heath burned money.
WTF?MARK HAMILL WAS CERTAINLY FAKE PHYSICAL WAS SHIT AND VOICE WAS SO THICK SORRY LEDGER IS THE BEST
Toprak Yetkin İçhedefler Chill. Mark Hamill is the real deal for a lot of people. I also consider his voice to be Joker's voice par excellence.
+Toprak Yetkin İçhedefler why are y'all comparing voice actors to physical actors? It makes more sense to compare mark hamill to troy baker or john DiMaggio. But since you are, you can't say Heath was better than mark. Mark created a certain voice for the joker that everybody thinks of when reading the comics. He gave the joker life. But Heath is definitely my favorite physical actor that portrayed him.
I bet you this will happen when Star Wars Episode VII comes out -
Star Wars fans - "LUKE SKYWALKER!!"
Batman fans - "JOKER!!"
Avatar fans - "FIRE LORD OZAI!!"
VictorianDemonica personally i love all 3 series
SKIP!
Danny Phantom fans: “UNDERGROWTH!!”
HE WAS ALSO ON THE 2012 TMNT!!
Super robot monkey team hyperforce go fans: SKELETON KING!!
Hamil's joker is brilliant, both comical and menacing, both whimsical and psychopathic, and his laugh variations are just amazing, truly a stroke of genius casting him as Joker in the animated series.
4:04 That smile! That's Joker right there!
Jack Nicholson played the clown, Heath Ledger played the psycho, but Mark Hamill played the Joker to perfection!
Best Joker ever. He nailed it. Also, what a swell guy!
Never heard Hamill do this Joker voice until now. Wow. Does he nail it or what !!? He's brilliant at it.
F1RacerRR It's that Vincent Price approach.
god. its awesome to me how you can see that mark really really loves this role and is dedicated to it in the way he gets into it and never seems to mind breaking it out for fans.
I just love how he LOVES doing it for an audience because he knows we wanna see it. Some actors would see it as showboating or being a mark for yourself but Mark Hamill knows we the fans want to see/hear him do this so he obliges. I love it.
Mark Hamill is pure amazing. He loves the comics, he loves the cartoons, and he IS the Joker. And I love how much he enjoys doing these monologues for the fans. A true gentlemen of his craft. Magnificent.
Mark Hamill is really cool actually. Ive never heard him just talk outside of him acting.
I think the best part of this is seeing how animated Mark Hamill gets when he's doing the voice work.
This man can literally embody the Joker whenever he does his voice, what a legend
Mark Hamill, Heath Ledger, Jack Nicholson, the three definitive Jokers. God help Jared Leto.
That little hairy hipster don't stand a chance
Dante Mendoza That was people said about Heath Ledger when The Dark Knight hadn't out yet.
Erepyon
oh,then I think he might be just as good joker as heath ledger
hazeman671 Leto might blow expectations as well.
Cesar Romero is best Joker.
That eulogy scene was one of my favourite performances of his in the show. Awesome to see him perform it.
you can see the scenery, the vat of acid, the box. almost see the purple suit and green shirt and the maniacal smile just from the energy Mark exudes into the atmosphere. superb.
Vote Mark Hamill for the next actor to play joker in a movie. (not a cartoon or game, but actual actor)
Wouldn't be the right fit
He plays the Trickster on Flash which he appears to approach as essentially a live action version of his rendering of the Joker. I think that's close enough.
+Grif Barrelroll I think he's better as voice than live action
+DLordSadow HOLY CRAP HE DID!!! I totally spaced on that when I was watching it
let's just leave him that way.
His Joker is perfect because it's always like Joker is just having a blast just talking.
Just hearing himself talk.
heathe ledger might of been the face of joker but mark hamill will always be the voice and soul of joker
i could seriously see him playing an aged joker in a movie, the voice the facial expressions, and his eyes. it'd be awesome
You should watch The Flash episode Tricksters. It is basically exactly that.
I have all the respect in the world for Mark Hamill for coming up with this voice. I'm sincerely glad he was able to end up making a name for himself in the industry after all, because he got a bum rap in Star Wars. I think most people forget that he was the hottest new up and coming actor when Star Wars came out. He gave up a role on a TV show that was supposed to catapult him into the spotlight in order to do the Star Wars movies, and then ended up overshadowed by Harrison Ford.
Good for him that he found his place, after all, and with an outstanding voice for the best damn character--hero or villain--in the DC Universe.
Oof … I got goosebumps once Mark started his Joker monologue. Simply the best!
every actor you played the joke had there own version of him. but mark is him. mark created the joker in a way that fit so perfectly that it became joker himself.
Who ever posted this, thank you. Mark Hamill is such a talented guy and to actually see him perform the Joker is a fan's dream come true.
I don't think I've ever been on the edge of my seat watching a youtube video...until now.
Just look at how the character takes over when he does this. His face when he is insulting the low level gangster is perfect.
Mr. Hamil, you sir are one of a kind.
Dini is such a good writer. He has such a great understanding of the Joker. I mean who puts words like gunsel in a kid's cartoon. Like this is such a perfect blend of comedic, crazy and downright scary.
Hamill performs it beautifully of course.
He has well and truly nailed the character of the Joker! Such an awesome voice!
Thank you for posting this. This has ALWAYS been my favorite monologue of the Joker (from Batman TAS). Hamill completely captured the essence of the Joker's intellect, maniacal sense, playfulness, and insanity in his eulogy. Like many others, when I found out that Mark Hamill was the voice behind the Joker I was blown away. I have been sold ever since. To me Hamill set the bar for what it means to be the Clown Prince of Crime. Loved him even more in the Arkham Series.
I love Mark Hamill so much when he is voicing and laughing as the Joker :) ! Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy made the performances of Joker and Batman so memorable in Batman TAS and The Arkham Games :) . I can't wait for The Killing Joke :)
I will miss Mark Hamill so much when he is voicing The Joker the last time after The Killing Joke :'(
+NinjaTyler or death OF the family
I remember when he portrayed the Trickster in the original Flash. He was great in that role too.
+Jennifer Garcia He played the Trickster again in the new Flash TV series. He did an excellent job there too.
+Jennifer Garcia He still plays the trickster on the new flash :D
+Swagsire I saw that episode on the new Flash. It was great and I love the Star Wars reference where he tells the young guy "I'm your Father". LOL. If you look closely at the actors faces, you can see them smirking. I wonder how many takes they had to do that scene without laughing.
+Jennifer Garcia I also loved how in the promos for it they said the next villain is "no joke"
He should have been cast in "The Dark Knight". I've known for years he was the voice behind the Joker on the animated series, but it's one thing to know someone's the voice actor of an animated character and another to actually picture them physically in the roll. Without the make-up on he still becomes Joker not only through his voice but his expression and actions.
He will always be THE voice of Joker for me, period
I never realized how good a voice actor Mark is?
In Star Wars his acting wasn't of this quality, which is a shame because he could have gone on to be fucking huge rather than for the most part being left by the way side.
I can't wait to see how he has evolved in SW VII because he has clearly grown into a great actor
He's actually quite famous is the voice acting community, I believe.
Did you wish you waited
He's one of the greatest heroes of all time *AND* one of the greatest villains of all time. *A true legend.*
You can just tell he never gets tired of doing. Genuinely such a nice person. Plus he's Luke Skywalker. Mark Hamil Is The definition of "The Man" to nerds. At least to me.
I love Mark Hamill, He's a awesome actor, especially when he did the star wars movies.😎😎😍😍😍❤❤💘💘
I like Mark Hamill's Joker. I also liked Jack Nicholson's, Heath Ledger's, and John DiMaggio's. All of them managed to pull of that sort of sociopathic clown vibe, as far as I'm concerned.
Since he retired from the Joker I think DiMaggio should be the new one ever since his turn during The Red Hood.
KazeAizen
I wouldn't mind seeing him reprise the role either, but as you might have gathered from my comment, I don't think there's a definitive Joker voice, be it Hamill's or DiMaggio's.
I actually kind of like the fact that the character is fairly open to interpretation when it comes to his voice and manner of speaking.
KazeAizen I vehemently dislike the one in the Red Hood.
KazeAizen yea he was amazing as the joker... sad he never did another part again
Mark's was definitely the best, but Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger were also really good.
If Jared Leto is really Jason Todd or whatever, I hope Mark Hamill gets to play the original aged and retired/imprisoned Prince of Clown.
Damn, that would be awesome!
That's Actually a really great idea!!
+Kevin Cheng if it was any of the robins I think it would be Tim Drake, the one that was turned into a Joker child and became the Joker in Batman Beyond(which Letos Joker looks a lot like)
At this point I think the only chance that would happen is if they did a Batman Beyond movie. Though they'd have to change what happened in Return of the Joker...
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
The student truly became the master.
wow... what a range he's got... brilliant genius!!! thanks for posting this!
I want that eulogy delivered in that voice by that man at my funeral (if I ever plan on dying)
THE KILLING JOKE ANIMATED MOVIE IS FINALLY HAPPENING DC HAD BETTER CALL KEVIN & MARK!
Of course they will! It will be their final performance as those roles
eiji niizuma I just read that comic.. I don't see what the big deal is. It was really underwhelming, it felt like an episode from a cartoon.
Shane Egan the killing joke is a deconstruction of the relationship between batman & joker
Kevin's Not Done Yet
+qballer82 Well hopefully they can get Mark. He has said he is no longer doing the voice, though he did say he would do it for the Killing Joke.
can the world please appreciate talent while they are here? Mr. Hamill.
Love that nod to Paul Dini that Mark Hamill did at the end there. Paul Dini is such a great writer.
Thumbs up for Mark Hamill as Joker in Snyder's Batman v Superman
Yeah, if you want a 60-year old, overweight Luke Skywalker as your Joker.
*****
I'd pay money for that.
The only problem is that he retired from the Joker roles after Arkham City....
brawlerdude555 Yeah now that I read it back to myself, I think I would too.
Or…At least voicing the joker
Mark Hamill will always be the voice of Joker to me for the rest of my life, Thank you sir.
That was some bad ass acting right there... why has he never done live action joker again?
*****
Doubt it.
Pretty sure a big reason is because a live action Joker would require a certain build and when Hamill got the part, it was considerably after his Star Wars roles, by about 7 or 8 years. Now fast forward that to another decade or two after his Joker is already extremely well-established as the baseline, and he's long since been out of the running to play a slim and trim live action Joker.
That's one of my best guesses. I fucking love this man.
***** He was only retired from Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, Christopher Nolan didn't feel comfortable recasting the part after Ledger's death, out of respect. Its also the reason the Joker is never really mentioned throughout The Dark Knight Rises. You can bet the Joker will be back in one of DC's future Batman movies (be that Batman vs. Superman or some other film).
*****
I know you read it somewhere, but I don't believe they'll retire the Joker from film forever. He'll be back on film in our lifetimes. He's too popular not to be.
***** Heath didn't commit suicide, he overdosed on sleeping pills his doctor gave him.
Between Skywalker and Joker this man made my childhood, and I can't thank him enough for The Killing Joke, I never thought they would make it right.
I feel they should have picked kevin michael richardson way before john dimaggio to play anything joker related.
i realise richardsons joker is heavily influenced if not stolen directly from mark hamill, but as james hetfield of metallica once said, if your going to steal from somebody make sure you steal from the best
You mean like how KMR played the Joker in The Batman?
not sure i get you sorry buddy, yeah KMR played the joker in batman.
i feel his joker is heavily influenced from mark hammills joker, listening to both side by side its pretty hard to deny.
Not sure what hammills reasons were for not returning to the arkham franchise, but even when i read batman comics its hammills voice i hear when the joker is talking
Luke Curran If I remember right, he stopped because the Joker's voice is very taxing to do for nearly 20 years.
Uh, hetfield didnt originate that quote dude. He was himself saying a very famous quote thats associated with stealing music from other artists. FYI. And it wuld b a lovely irony if he claimed that quote as his, because that stealing that in itself wouldve been an example of that very quote.
I actually think its a mark twain quote, but im not certain about that either.
Seeing as there is video evidence in the last 20 years of somebody saying it though i figured id use a reference that people would get.
Also great hats off to Paul Dini for his writing as Mark mentioned at the end there!
I really hope one day Warner Bros will release the recordings of Tim Curry's Joker voice, very curious on how his take of the character was, lot of people think he sounded like Pennywise when he did his Joker voice but I don't think that's true
It would be amazing
Very much so. I'd love to hear those recordings as well.
Let's be honest: like many other voice actors, Curry's characters all sound pretty much the same with little variation. ;-P
True, but I have a feeling he changed his voice for the joker
I am geeking out so hart right now!!! There really is no other choice for 'best Joker voice' IMO.
The ONLY Joker adaptation, as far as I am concerned.
The new guy did his best to keep the Hamil legacy going. It really is great.
Daniel Arevalo who's the new guy?
Nemomeansnoname Troy Baker, he does the Joker in Arkham Origins
Absolutely LOVE Mark's Joker, it's just so perfect and the laugh is brilliant
Out of the four main Jokers (Romero, Nicholson, Hamill, and Ledger), Hamill tops them all. This man is wonderful!
Mark and Kevin will always be Batman and Joker period. Cant be done better.
i cracked up at the end of the eulogy when he said "Now that was fun...now who's for chinese?" cuz i'm eating chinese take out! lol!
for me Joker will alway be Hamill & Nicholson....thats it.
And Heath Ledger
That's how he did it in the actual cartoon. 😊
It's amazing that he looked at the script once and continue to go on. He remembers everything
MARKed as Joker forever
I started playing the Batman Arkham series games for Batman, and stayed for Mark Hamill's voice.
You can see him physically transform into the joker
It was awesome to see Mark do "The Joker" live on stage for the audience and even for me to see, thanks so much for posting this home video. It was some time later and quite the surprise reading all who were the voices doing "The Batman" series because Mark's voice was never recognizable as the Joker to me.
105 Jared Leto accounts
Or Malcolm Mcdowell.
Charles Tabing 128
"And now that idea is you" says it all...
Hamill will always be Joker's voice, and Ledger will always be his face. If you could combine them both, you'd have the original joker from the comics reborn perfectly.
Hamill was great as the voice of the joker it was great how in one sentence he can go back and forth between various moods without skipping a beat. it was like he had a split personality and they all wanted to talk at the same time. I was surprised back in the day to learn it was him. he definitely owned the role.
