Kirk has been my fucking hero since I was a kid. Like, I literally spent my entire youth through today playing (or attempting to play) everything the dude has written. And thank God I had the amazing friends that I did when I was young because I was indoctrinated in Tool a good 20+ years ago. This would be a lot of check marks on my bucket list all at once.
I think the penny dropped when Kirk started with the high bends and the crowd was feeling it. It was Maynard’s improv vocals that really caught my attention
I rambled on over here after I read that Mr James fkn Hetfield said how this jam with TOOL was one of the most transcendent experiences he EVER HAD JAMMING!! 🤘😈🤟🎶🌌☮️
Don't quite know who's playing what 🎸 here but it's still FKN RAWKIN'🙌 I can see how being on stage backing up Maynard's ethereal singing could be transcendent on almost any occasion...
He shouldn’t have gone for the bluesy licks and it would’ve been fine. Out of the place with the dark feel of the half-tone. But that’s Kirk, that’s who he is, minus the wah.
Here from the “grunge diaries” post on FB
Same 😂
Same
Yep! Lol
oh, hi there!
Yup, they got me too, saw the post, mossied right over...WORTH IT

Kirk's probably like "so this is what it's like to play with a real drummer" 😀
Wow that's hard... I mean Lars is a bad drummer when it comes to technical and complex things but he fits in with Metallica in my opinion.
lars is so much better than absolutely anyone gives him credit for
@@stopit2964 Was, sure was.
Sad but true.
and toolshed76’s probably like “must be nice to have a head of hair.”

Literally not on this song. It's Kirk. He owns a home in HI.

Bad ass..!!!
It's difficult to make this song harder than it is. But holy hell!!
Holy fucking shit this is awesome.

Kirk's solo at 5:05 is fire!
7:14 aw maynie
7:19 SHIT YEAH THERE IT IS! I KNEW YOU STILL HAD IT IN YA!!!
what do you mean???
Maynard's voice cracked at 7:14 then hit the note right at 7:19. I think that's what he's referring to at least
mcpure90 thank you :D
I wonder if Kirk was in drop d
😂 Kirk plays in different tunings in Metallica songs. Im sure he was.
@@krmitt5 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
All Nightmare Long was in drop D
Pretty cool. Parts sound a bit Unforgiven-ish.
They doing double riffs and sneaky ass guitar shit!
That's weird as fuck but still good
IP2 🤟🏻
if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything. ok.
HEY SOUND GUY THE MAINS ARE TOO FUCKING LOUD
This is not Kirk.... because there's no freaking wah in the solo!
I miss the St.Anger snare drum,... not.
Not so much
Ummmm that "solo" sounded terrible
If the story is to be believed, it was completely improvised. I'd say its not that bad

Lol yeah that was lame… sorry not sorry.
