So glad to see you ripp`n it up.
Thanks so much!! Glad you enjoyed!! 🎸👍
I saw this video the day after it came out, and immediately got on the site and ordered a guitar. My 338 showed up yesterday, and I can’t find anything wrong with it! Finish is perfect, feels great to play, sounds really good. I changed the strings and adjusted the intonation, but the action was basically perfect out-of-the-box. And it’s gorgeous. Everything on this guitar is so well done, I’m still kind of in shock. So big thanks, Jimmy!
Hi Drew…thanks so much for watching and commenting. Glad you enjoyed the video and congrats on your new 338! So glad to hear your enjoying it!!
Truly appreciate your stopping into the channel and sharing your thoughts…much thanks and congrats once again! 🎸👍
The Madcat telecaster is my desire. Last fall I bought the 335 style that came with locking tuners. It is better than my Grote. Thanks for the video.
My pleasure man…the 338’s started the madness…😎
Better grab a “MadCat” while you can….thanks so much for stopping into the channel! Much appreciated…🎸👍
Very nice guitars for favorable and reasonable money. Best regards Jimmy. Pavel CZ.👍👍👍
Thanks so much for watching and sharing your thoughts Pavel…🙏👍
great phrasing Jimmy Fly!!!
Thanks so very much NeverQuit..truly appreciate your stopping into the channel! 🙏👍
Dang Jimmy, the out jam was a great one! Terrific jam!! Nice job my friend.
Hi Mr. Opus….so glad you enjoyed! I just released the full 4:00 version of the jam used here…check it out when you get the chance. 🎸👍
Jimmy did you ever do a top 10-5-3 favorite guitars you own video? Would love to that one!
I started a series on favorite “types” of guitars but never broke it down to top 10’s or 5’s or…that would be very tough for me to do as I kinda love them all…
Perhaps in the future I can attempt to get started with my top 25?? 😎
Truly appreciate your stopping into the channel man…much thanks! 🎸👍
Jimmy, love always the content. So I shared a picture of your studio to my wife, to show her I'm not the only one who's studio looks like it does........didn't help as Id hoped it would..."when are you gonna stop buying guitars and clean this slop-house up!"
Hi Matt…thanks so much for watching and commenting. Slop-house?? 🤣
I call it “lived in and comfortable”…😎
So glad to hear your enjoying the channel…truly appreciate your stopping in and give my best to the Mrs…🎸👍
Chief, Glad to see ya’ back! 😊
Thanks so much mjvicc1952….glad to see ya dropping in! Much thanks my friend…👍🙏
Jimmy, the Gretschcaster is modeled after the limited run Fender White (and later, Orange) "Chicken" Semi Hollows with real Filtertrons, which were a direct nod to the Gretsch White Falcons. I waited for these to come out, but then they dropped the SRV FFST, which I bought.
Hi Rob…thanks so much for watching and sharing! I knew it looked like a Gretsch/Tele type combo! Truly appreciate your stopping into the channel. Much thanks…🎸👍
I was honestly wondering myself where the inspiration for those Gretsch-like FFTLs came from… Now I know!!!!! I have to say, those folks at Firefly seem to be REALLY smart about what models they release and when they release them. Something tells me Firefly is UNLIKELY to release any copies of more classic Gretsch models like the Country Gentleman, 6120, or Duo Jet though, because Gretsch has never exactly been as big a player as Fender/Gibson, and besides, Gretsch themselves currently have some models in the marketplace that are price competitive with Firefly. Firefly hasn’t brought back their PRS copies, either.
Jimmy, Great to see ya and get some info, and that playing always brings a smile to my face. God bless ya Champ.
Hi David…thanks so much man! So glad to see you drop in and glad to hear your enjoying! Truly appreciate it! 🎸👍
Hey there, Jimmy. I was starting to worry a bit about you. Hope you are doing well. With the really nice appointments Firefly is currently using, I am completely sold on the product. I'd love to see them come out with their version of the smaller sized Epiphone 339 or Gretsch Streamliner Jr. The Firefly treatment to those two guitars at Firefly prices would have to be great. I have a couple of their 338 Pro's and they are fantastic instruments. I also have a Streamliner Jr., and I love the smaller size. Also, on a previous show, you mentioned that your Monoprice amp was plugged into a separate speaker. Excuse my ignorance as I am just a hobbyist and not an accomplished musician like you, but why use the external speaker? Have a good one.
Hi Capt. Rebel…thanks so much for watching and commenting! No worries my friend…doing well here. Just my “busy” time of year…
As for the question on my Monoprice Amp and Cabinet…the separate cabinet has a Celestion V30 (Vintage 30 1x12” speaker) loaded in it, and has more room to push more air. The amp itself has a Celestion 70/80 12” speaker in it, so a bit of a different animal and sound between the two speakers. Just gives me more options tone wise while keeping both speakers available. Hope that helps explain a bit to my reasoning…😎🎸👍
I think many would say that the V30 sounds better than the V70/80, and that the bigger cabinet on the extension gives it a less boxy sound than the Monoprice amp by itself.
@@zuperdee
Indeed!! 🎸👍
I too have the same amp and also the cab, and I find that with the V30 cab it gives me a more classic and less bitey tone. The Celestion Seventy 80 is great for an over driven break up sound.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts Jorge! 🎸👍
I've been watching your videos since covid hit. At first I was skeptical about FF, Monoprice & IYV. I was thinking no way these Sears catalog guitars could be that good. I ordered my first Monoprice Tele a few months later for $90 and was blown away. Now the quality of these guitars have just gotten better. It's hard to get one sometimes due to them selling out. It just goes to show how great these guitars are for the low price. Long gone are the days of spending $500+ for great guitar. I've been wanting the FF JR for a while now. I really do hope that they bring it back. I really appreciate your videos Jimmy. I would be spending money on the more expensive Fender or other brands if not for your channel. I do have some higher end guitars, but I have some that can compete with them at more than 1/2 the cost. Again thank you for all the hard work & have a great weekend my friend!
Hi Tim! Always appreciate your stopping into the channel, and the support/kind comments my friend. I try to present what I am finding in the mostly “budget” market that players may want to add to their “arsenal” without breaking the bank. As you know, I also own quite a number of higher end guitars myself…however I am finding it much more fun discovering how much guitar you can actually get on a budget and trying my best to get that info out to our visitors and subscribers! I truly appreciate your contribution and support to the channel! Much thanks Tim…🙏👍
@@JimmyStewart1 I meant 1/2 the cost not more than. Late night viewing and not proof reading my comments gets me sometimes lol. Sometimes you can buy 2-3 or more Monoprice, FF & IYV guitars for the price of one $500 guitar which blows my mind. I wish that they had these when I started playing in the late 90's.

Or when I started playing in the sixties…😎
We knew what ya meant Tim!! 🎸👍
Cool update, Jimmy! Another great bunch of really nice looking guitars!
Hi Cal…thanks so much for stopping in my 🇨🇦 friend..hope all is well with you and yours…🎸👍
I also saw and trusted your review on the stage right 15 tube I loved using it at home and took to a jam once brought it back and noticed a sound it was making on a certain note like you I bought JJ blues jr replace tubes I hope that corrects the problem I’m very disappointed in those amps now
Hi Bobby…I think most would agree with me that the Monoprice Stage Right 15W amp is one of the best value all valve guitar amp combo’s out there right now for the $$. Mine (and many like it) has been going strong now for over 4 years….any amp can have issues at some point, and most likely a tube(s) will be the culprit. Hopefully, the new set of JJ’s will sort out your issue. Be sure they are tightly seated and the valve retainer clips are not rattling….
Great video! I was expecting your video to also mention one of the biggest additions to some of the guitars that they just dropped. The Music Man style, some of the Tele Styles and Strat Styles now have flamed roasted maple necks! Yes, beautiful FLAMEY necks! I thought you were going to mention that because in your thumbnail the headstock of the new Tele even has a little bit of flame on the thumbnail picture you used for your video. Also I read your comments and it seems nobody else knows about the dozen or so guitars they just dropped that have beautiful flamed necks. It's unbelievable how they can offer these guitars for that price.
I fortunately just happened to check the night that these dropped and was able to get a couple. I watch UA-cam a lot and it seems I'm always watching a review of a firefly or jet guitar that I just seemed to miss. Jet guitars is actually now my favorite❤ but Firefly is a close second👍🏼
Hi Brad…thanks for watching and commenting. I really just wanted to go over the drop in general, as specific features are different on specific guitars and folks can read that in the different item descriptions. Yes, SOME of the new models have very nice flame roasted necks….some are compound radius as well…on individual guitar reviews, I go though all the spec’s along with measurements and weights. Truly appreciate your stopping into the channel! Much thanks….🎸👍
Wow, Firefly seems to be on a roll!!!!!! I had NOT seen those EVH-style Strat and Music Man models… I guess I should start looking beyond the Teles! 😂 EVH has never really been my thing, but something tells me that those models will sell out EXTREMELY quickly! 😎 Some of those FFLGs look really good too, although I worry a bit about neck dive with them! I see they also have a Lucille-type 338 and a couple of Trini Lopez/Dave Grohl-type 338s. It really is amazing how they manage to stock so many different models, including these more esoteric signature-type models, while improving their specs and quality all the time! How do they do this?!?
They really are hitting it…like I said previously, it’s one of the reasons I really do respect what Firefly is trying to do. Taking some chances, listening to the fans, putting out some unique and interesting models, finishes, and trying to improve all at the same time while keeping pricing very competitive within the “budget” category! 🎸👍
@@JimmyStewart1 For sure! I love my newer FFTL. Some of the signature-type models would cost 10x more for the real thing, no doubt! Firefly has definitely given us ordinary folks a chance to experience at least the look, if only 80% of the sound and feel for less than 1/10th the price.

Absolutely agree!! Thanks again for stopping in and the channel support PG..🙏🎸
Thank you Jimmy!
My pleasure…thanks so much for stopping in! 🎸👍
Looks like i missed what I would've bought.. Any idea when their next restock is?
Hi Vimm..thanks for watching and commenting. Never have a definitive date from Firefly..just approximate time lines..😎
Keep your eyes and ears open and I do my best here in the channel as well for news…🎸👍
Love the LPJ! I am a sucker for all of them. Does that one have 250k tone and 500 volume?
Hi Glen…thanks so much for stopping in and commenting! My 54 Gibson JR was my main guitar for years..picked this up to take along while the 54 got to do some case “resting”…
Honestly, I never opened this up to see what’s under the hood for pots…
I just know it sounds/plays good, which is good enough for me…😎
We need to talk to George about a 3PL option for bringing 100's (if not 1,000) of each model into a US fulfillment house.
Thanks so much for dropping in man…
Hmm..being a smaller company, I really don’t know if they have the capital or ability to have that many guitars made at once, never mind warehousing them. It’s all about inventory and turnover…sitting on inventory is costly. If and when they are ready, I have room here…😎
Hi Jimmy. Nice review and playing. Waiting for FF to release a lefty classic relic strat in burst…..sent George an email.
@@sparks3019
Thanks for stopping in! They have released lefties in the past, but again it’s about sitting on inventory. Left hand guitars simply don’t sell as fast as right handed models. It’s always tough out there for the southpaws…

Hi David! Yes sir….🫡
How heavy are these mahogany body Firefly guitars?
Hi Eugene…thanks so much for stopping in! Weigh will vary from guitar to guitar based on body style, material and specs. If you are referring to this particular JR I am using in this video, it is just under 7 lbs as I recall.

Great playing but your guitar reviews mostly going thru effects and audio and not the true sound of the cheap guitar and your not the only one that does that
Hi Bobby…thanks for stopping in! Well, this was not a review. This was simply letting folks know what has been released recently from Firefly. When I do guitar reviews, I ALWAYS do a “clean” tone check of each guitar, along with some “dirty” checks. Nothing gets processed via any pre/post audio DAW….it’s simply a camera and a room mic….appreciate your watching and listening! 🎸👍
