These guys make it look so effortless bowling on the hardest conditions in the world. Thanks for bringing us along guys every week good luck this season!
Back in the 70s or so, I bowled in the Landgraaf tournament held in NYC. They had oil to the pin decks! This, in the era of rubber/plastic balls and wood lanes. Flamethrower types like Kevin McCune could throw up a rooster tail, the oil was so heavy. The one good thing was the hole-in-the-wall pizza place. The slices were fantastic!
Was anyone else watching each bowler throw a shot and going ‘oh that’s [insert name here]!’ … always interesting to me how unique every single style is.
Absolutely love the behind the scenes videos!!
We are watching the qualifying on BowlTV and rooting for favorites from O'Fallon, Missouri. Go Brad and Kyle!
Can't wait for these guys to bowl on pattern #4 lmao
Me, too!😁
What's pattern 4?
Especially two handers. The only thing two hands will be good for on that pattern is putting the ball back in the bag.
These videos are great and I really enjoy the behind the scenes stuff. I am getting back into something I love and find myself consuming more and more videos every day. Keep up the great work! Loved the difference between the equinox and attention star v2
I'm hoping to get one of those bowling balls, hoping to start bowling again in the fall (after not bowling since 2006), I need new equipment, all my old stuff is from the 90's
What is the difference between fire and ice when talking about the oil patterns? During practice session can you go to any lane you want or are you assigned lanes?
Any chance y’all can get the OG Showman, Guppy Troup, to talk to the Vlog while he’s there? Some of us remember him from back in the day as a great bowler.
The OG showman is Carmen Salvino
I need a ball so bad. Kyle you can win this open now. Long grind stay strong
Guppy sighting!!
Love watching yall! Bowl well, gents!
Good luck this week at the US Open Brad & Kyle!!
Only Hank knows what he's talking bout! 😆🤣
Cool video talk tech bowling tournament Brad and Kyle
Good luck guys!
Got real excited seeing "congratulations Jordan" in my inbox just for it to be a different Jordan lmao
they changed the title
Yeah same here!! Haha!
Absolutely REKT
Good luck, guys!
Cant wait to see each day
Good luck gentleman, you got this
Good Luck to both of you
Shout out Hank Boomershine!!! He donated to Ursuline when I coached several moons ago. Good luck as well fellas!!! #proudalum
Troups pants. Absolute cinema
I was lucky enough to see Brad throw his Equinox for the first time. I think he said it was his first time lol. January 18th
I can’t wait for pattern 4 and see those scores. That has to be a record amount of speed bumps for a pattern
OMG, WHAT AM I LOOKING AT????
Nick Hoagland (the pattern designer) was on BowlTV this evening and talked about it. The graph can be misleading because it doesn't reflect the buff that is applied when it isn't actively putting oil down.
The net effect is a flat pattern with no oil at all on 6-7 on either side. The way to play is to hit that dry at the end of the pattern. Hit it too early and it over hooks. Get outside of it and it doesn't come back.
Expectation is higher scores than days 2-3 of qualifying, but not favoring either side or a particular style. We'll see how it works out!
Enjoy your time in Indy!
What is the criteria for getting into the US Open. I have never looked into it just like watching the tough conditions.
Bowl well you guys!
I'm old enough to remember when Dick Allen was Richie Allen haha 9:48
Can't believe he is still bowling.
We couldn’t get Guppy on the Vlog. Come on man!
52ft of oil is insane
Best of Luck Guys!!!
12:38 darren tang
It’s really easy if you choose me as a giveaway winner. Just saying. I’ll save you on the shipping, I’m in Indy.
52’ oil stand right and throw left 😂😂 if you are a right hander…
awesome...only 10 balls? Should really be 6. But it is a start and the PBA needs to follow some kinda a rule like this.
That 52 foot pattern is going to be easy!
Brad. Why do you say equinox that way? 😂😂😂
Looked like Packy said What "The f*cks goin on" LoL that was just perfect timing! Have an amazing tourney fellas!!!
He has a potty mouth🙃
@ripvanrevs 😂😂😂
I still say urethane should be banned and the lowest you can make a balls surface is 1000 grit
good luck guys tear it up
Good luck at the open
Good luck
Storm balls are the best go team Storm
Entered the giveaway. Bowl good guys. Those patterns looked tough
It’s the US Open, they’re supposed to be tough which is by Randy says it’s the toughest tournament to win on the PBA Tour.
@MCLife30015 trust me I used to go regionals back in 2006 to 2010 and I wanted to bowl that tournament so bad because of how tough the lane conditions were. I have the chance 2 years to build that tournament and did not take it because I could not get off of work
hey
Change the tourney name to the 5th arrow US open. Looked like everyone was starting left of 20.
Whats the bob ross guy's name again?
I know it's different these days but I miss the days of going to a tournament, bringing 4 balls, checking those balls in. Then going out on the lanes and figuring out where the shot was, not getting the full pattern given to you prior to the tournament, drilling balls just for that pattern. Yes, I'm old.
You can experience the old days every year at Nationals.
What are yall thoughts on pattern 4 😭😂
Waiting for Robarge to loft it over all the speed bumps!
@ripvanre ...and he will do it! 😆
This is gonna sound mean and I promise it is not meant that way:
Why would you not take five minutes to look over the patterns for more than just the length? It’s literally your job to bowl. Do the other aspects of these patterns literally not matter? This is a serious question that I genuinely would like to know the answer to.
(This is a good genuine question and was not “mean”) We would predict that roughly 10% of the field actually looks at the graph “fully”, in our experience you learn WAY more actually rolling balls on the pattern. Hope this helps!
@ I appreciate the response. It kind of seems like our sport has gone a bit overboard with these complicated patterns, since lane topography and transition have such a huge impact on how they actually play.
Good luck this week and this season guys!
Sucks... first vid i see bout us open.. already know a lefty is gonna win it... 😮
What’s up with Nate Stubler. Bro looks dim.
First
That black dude Cameron throws the ball like the cops are on his tail lmao
