I agree
@@220avgthe plastic ball mold is a bowling ball mold to make ur own. 😂
That’s awesome.
lol shit 134$ to manual ball return one game sign me up I’ll do it 10,000 times no problem
So about the mold: it's called the Hook Again Chamber. It was made by Ebonite and they had some sort of cleaner along with it, you would basically soak your ball in the solution to make it hook more. Randomly saw some for sale on facebook and I just had to snag one and get it to you. But it really sucks it didn't work out they way we were thinking it would.
Hoping for one day a method to come to you so you can make all the craziest homemade balls of your dreams!
Thanks again for being on the lookout! Decadude #1
Nicely spotted! I'll keep my eye out for one as well. Maybe once the northeast gets back above freezing I can continue with my project
I mean, 220 should def do a before and after on the hook again and see if it actually improves hook on a ball!
@@Samuel-xs2yv I'm pretty it was just acetone that made the cover softer.
This is actually the mold the bowling ball companies use to pour new balls

Michael is the most creative human I’ve ever met. These science experiments bring me back to elementary school times. Love it!
Love it we need those consistent league videos with you guys 💪🏻
You owe Mike a few more slaps since he acts like a brat on league night videos 😂👍
Brandon is a real one, Forrest gets a homemade steak
19:48
5-7-10 2 lanes over from you 😂😂
Nothing hits like a dumbbell 💪
Put a dumbbell core in the next ball
Thanks Brandon!
Thanks Brandon and 220! awesome vid , always looking forward to these
Man that’s huge! Thanks so much Sam
Getting closer! I don't think there'd have been any fix for the flat spot regarding not being a risk in the ball return, but it'd probably be good to surface future balls before you lay them out. That way if there's imperfections like that you could have drilled to (attempt to) not track over them. Something like a Cook Sphere for surfacing would also probably be worthwhile, but I do think you'll need to keep searching for a totally spherical mold. I love these videos though, I'll be super excited to see you eventually cast a real core to use in one of these as well.
Thanks!

Thanks for the thanks!
Im really glad he gave us credit in the "we made 3 bowling balls" i feel like I put in a lot of effort on this endeavor so far and im just glad to feel seen
So, as an artist who does projects that require the pouring of glue, floetrol, and resin, the bubbles are formed from the pour, to elimate them, try to pour slower, as well as you can use a butane torch (i use a creme brulee torch) to pop them and get rid of them!
There is no access to the surface for the torch method. Vacuum chamber the resin before pouring would be better.
legend
“What ball is that you’re using?”
“I made it at home earlier today”
Thank you Brandon! This was an awesome video dude you killed it!
"I know you've been here 5 minutes, but I bee here over 2 hours"....LMAO MIKE>..you're hilarious....hope one day you get this to really work and start your 220 line of balls.
Bedankt
Thank you Brandon and Forrest. Glad that you told us what it weighted. The mold looks like the ones that Bowling Ball manufactures use, but they machine the ball afterwards to make it round, so you just need to find a CNC machine to do that. 😂😂😂😂😂. 220 as always another fun video to watch. Ken
Hell yes! These homemade ball videos are the best! I look forward to more now that you have the mold
Michael - “we have a very suspect thing protruding from the ball” .. my brain “congratulations it’s a boy” 😂
LETS GO BRANDON AND DELTA BOWL
Not gonna lie that storm joke had me rolling 😂😂😂😂
I dont care if i am 2nd, 3rd or what-the-heck-ever! I just sincerely want to say that, I love your videos, my man!
Always brings me joy and replenish my need to grab a ball and hook it to the pins because i am busy most of the time lately and can't just go to a bowling alley and play a few rounds.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR AWESOME VIDEOS!
You win the 3rd trophy 🥉 anyway but thank you sir 🥹
@220avg Holy-shootin'-balls! 😳
Sorry, my first time ever being replied by an AWESOME MAN such as you, my good sir! ❤
W Brandon
You also need a vacuum chamber for the resin to eliminate bubbles.
19:49 that guy that 5-7-10 must have been so mad 😂
19:51 RIP the dude who sour apple's on 34 lmao
Strange how that is called the sour apple now. If you watch PBA shows from the 80's, they call just the 5-7 a sour apple.
I loved this. nexdt time put a 3D printed core in there or something lol
Dude left a 5-7-10 on lane 34 around 20 minutes. That was skill.
I would love to see a video of you using the OG 1990 Fab 16lb Blue Hammer Urethane ball. It is the GREATEST ball ever made imo 💯
Pro tip for you. When you try this again, put the ball on the ball spinner with the seam spinning as an axis. Use a razor blade to scrape off the ridge by lightly shaving it as it spins. Should get rid of that noise and the hops. Also, if your pro shop has a Hause Resurface machine, use that to get it right. Hope this helps.
Thank you Brandon & Forrest!😊
Maybe scuff up the inside of the mold and use some silicone to get an exactly* round insert that to make the next ball?
Brandon absolutely made the video!
Thanks Brandon. Forrest with the assist. ❤🔥
❤
You should try this again. But your first step is to find someone who can lathe or sand the ball completely round.
Next please put a core in it
Also mix all your resin and pour 1 time.
And if your pro shop has a determinator. That will help you with laying out the ball the best way possible.
Love the 5-7-10, that was awesome
We need to send Michael one of those vibrating machines that helps you shake all the bubbles out of pours. You would get the smoothest finish that way
That Jolly Rancher Watermelon C4 is amazing! Oh and ty for the amazing content as always
Need to find a lathe or one of those automatic sanders maybe to get that ridge right. I like this series so far. Hopefully 5 is a success
mixing the blue into the resin looks like a scene from breaking bad
19:50 sour apple sighting lol
He needs to put a core into it
Honestly this was the greatest of all your videos.
This is absolutely amazing that's my home bowling alley, I have a league there tonight!
I have one of those. It is for dehydrating your pulling ball without using a bunch of material. You can finally grind oil dry or kitty litter( which is just oil dry with some scent) and let it sit and it'll absorb the oil. I've done it on a few balls but actually forgot I had one in my basement till I saw this video.
The color of the ball looks pretty cool and hits surprisingly well for just 13 pounds
13:33 Good thing Forrest is friendly, he's flagged for PvP.
Underrated comment.
@TheZotmeister my nerd is showing... But 220 literally has Frostmourne hanging up in his house.
I love when fellow wow nerds see the little subtle references 😂
@220avg oh yeah... dedicated too much time to the game to let stuff like that slip by unnoticed 😂
I had over a year /played on my main and I had like 10 chars at max level lol
Mike this was dope.

Let’s talk about that leave on lane 34 @ the 19:00 ish mark wow
to deal with the bubbles you need to have a pressure chamber that will pull the air out while the resin cures.
That's definitely an option. Another one is what's called Deep Pour resin. It's designed to cure slowly so that the bubbles have plenty of time to rise out. It works surprisingly well. Just takes longer to cure.
Shoutout to the bowling alley for not banning you for throwing a death ball into the machine. That said, I really want to make my own bowling ball in the future. Be cool for a social event where someone teaches you how to make a ball while you do it.
Need to rig up a vibration table and preferably a vacuum pot to eliminate bubbles.
I can't be the only one thinking we need a 220 + Evan and Katelyn collab for making resin bowling balls
What's their channel?
@@decadude8968 ua-cam.com/users/evanandkatelyn they do a ton of resin and DIY stuff.
Hammer Called-- They Want Their Ball Back!
I was literally just thinking it looked like a hammer NU then saw this 😂😂😂
2:18 😂
Nicely done Deca. That ball mould looks cleaner than mine. The ridge is a problem I encountered as well, and found that pouring past the seam in one pour helps a lot. I actually use cut down gallon jugs as mix containers. Think windshield washer fluid bottles.
You have your own mold? Can you tell me about it? I'm all ears lol
I sort of followed 220s route. Except mine I placed 2 layers of wax paper roughly 3/4 up, and in the bottom I had a brake parts cleaner cap holding the ball in place, screwed to plywood. Solved the flat spot problem, but I have 2 extensions that have to be removed when the curing is done. I was trying to make a clear dragon ball bowling ball. Got the stars figured out so they're actually functional weight blocks, but can't find a urethane or resin mix that looks even slightly correct. They just end up looking like tangerines or with the quick set urethane they're just too bubble ridden. Then it got really cold up here in the northeast US, so I haven't even tried for the last 2 months. My barn isn't heated.
@drg19841 yeah that was basically what I was thinking of doing. I don't know what exactly manufacturers are using to make completely clear covers, I have to assume it's a kind of resin that needs some machine assistance and not so much one that you can mix by hand. Would need to find someone to spill the beans on how they do it.
I think I found the solution! There's a video on here called "Alumilite Clear Slow - EVERYTHING You NEED to Know!" And it shows the cure for the bubbles and haze. Apparently the trick is to have a pressure pot big enough for your castings. I don't have that, yet...
@@drg19841 I'll have to check that out, thanks for the info!
5:56 goddamnit beat me to the punch
When storm offers you a gig make sure to decline and tell them you’re waiting for Brunswick
Also, I used to work at a bowling alley. Those allies I worked at didn't have enough room for someone to grab a ball like that.
Pro tip for the ball boy: return by rolling to up the gutter. Wait don't - it's more fun to watch you run.
The ball surface is doing all the heavy lifting.
Please just contact a bowling ball company and ask for a mold!!! Then also make your own custom core!
Lily on lane 34, I repeat Lily on lane 34. That is all, thank u lol
14:14 I pray that every league out has a guy that sounds like this. I've got mine, he goes by Moonshine Rob
Brandon looks a lot like a guy I went to the University of South Carolina with who was in the Carolina Band and I think he was also a Music Ed. major like me. I can't remember his name because my memory sucks, but I feel like it might have been Brandon. I'm probably totally wrong but just thought I would check to make sure it wasn't him, because that would be kind of a crazy coincidence.
Guy to your left had a Lilly 😅
Hey everyone, Brandon here, thank you for all the love
@brandonthewierd we all appreciate you and the delta bowl team allowing 220 to make entertaining content!
How do you harvest a watermelon from underneath a bowling alley? Of course you use a rake!😂
the box is the highlight of the video lol
That color looks so close to the NU Blue
5-7-10 split at 20 minute mark the lane beside him that’s hard to do
Cool video talk tech bowling ball homemade bowling ball Michael
Lilly sighting
Honestly at 6:00 I had a feeling that would've happened 🤣
I saw that coming a mile off 😂
8:43 christmas tree ornament!
one more thing you should make a bowling ball with random items like cans cardboard and maby leaves or grass
hope u like it
You picked like the worst possible way to mix the resin and fill the mold...
In the future, just pour directly into the mold. Use a funnel. Mix in the mold, including the color so swirls will be consistent across the entire ball.
I would put it on a resurfacer with 80 grit pads to round the ball back
Make that "that's what she said" into a short😂
16:54 I could watch Forrest slap Micheal in the face all day 😂
That was a crazy lilly in the background
you should send a message to one of the resin channels(evan and katelyn is the first one that comes to mind, they seem to love doing wacky resin things)and see if they have any ideas on how to get this to work. in your attempts it feels like youre sooo close, need to workshop this
i agree!!! michael needs to get in touch with some resin youtubers and brainstorm
Double curve was not a dud. That ball is a stud!
Thank you Brandon!!
Theirs definitely potential with that mould just need to get the rid of the ridge
Forest YT : Balls, *competitive style*
220 YT : Balls.... yup balls.
People would use acetone or paint thinner in that mold thus making the outer Shell of the ball softer this letting your soaked ball hook 10 times more.
Thank you Brandon and Forrest
Dude, get something that fits in the top of the hole of the mold to mix with. You literally have a measuring device with the mold. Clamp it all together, put half and half, add coloring, mix, and top off. Final mix, let it sit.
you should do this again but try to put your own designed weight block into it lol
Thank you Brandon!
you should make a ball with a candle pin ball and another is diffrent pins 😎🎳🎳🎳
hope u like it
Maybe get something to vibrate the mold after you poor to help the bubbles surface out
Thanks Brandon!
better idea for next time you can use a bucket to mix the resein and the hardner all together and pour it into the mold at the same time :))))
Missed up on the ball! didn't design a core for the ball! coreless bowling ball! wounder if it gonna hook lol
It did hook, surprisingly more than the rock core from what it seemed.
220 we need a rock core ball 2.0, shooting a 300 🤯
I almost wrote an angry comment asking why we don’t weigh our homemade bowling balls anymore. Good thing I watched til the end.
