- Diy 5th axis trunnion build series for my epoxy granite vertrical mill.
Its a B-C configuration trunnion running on Harmonic drives with delta Servo's. Raw material is weighing in 26kg. In this video I am machining the 2 side plates.
Part 1: • Diy 5th axis trunnion ...
part 3: • Diy 5th axis trunnion ... - Наука та технологія
So many people make excuses for not using coolant. They clearly have never experienced the finish of a cold cut part or extended tool life. You are doing Excellent work sir.
Content on UA-cam is very lacklustre at the moment, you are a breath of fresh air, thanks for taking the time.
Man, I'm so glad to hear her sing like this!
You've made such an amazing work with this machine.
I enjoyed seeing your old bike reflected in the window of the enclosure.
I enjoy seeing a piece of stock turned into a part. Even better when you explain exactly what you are doing. Great job!
This is an awesome build to be following. Really nice execution on those parts, Stef. Looking forward to the next video!
Cheers from a Watchmaker in Australia,
Reuben
Awesome. Looking forward to see the big part machined :)
Great stuff! Can’t wait to get my mill running. Your work is high quality!
I can't wait to see the 5 axis in action. Well done, exceptional good job.
Gday, these parts turned out great, the mill is a credit to you, throughly enjoying the build, cheers
Really nice work Stef. Im really impressed with your CNC machine. One of the better builds I have seen on UA-cam. Sounds really rigid and strong.
Awesome, keep those videos coming! Great machine!
Only one thing could be better. Flood cooling. I think you should change it to what Piotr Fox did with his machine. He perfected it. Makes less mess and cools great. Why not borrow good idea 😀
very very good proyect and very good job..thanks for your time
Hi, looks great. Also milling. Such big cuts, so easy :)
Nice project friend!
FC your project waiting for next part . Thank you
Mooie leerzame video's. Dat verspaand wel erg mooi
Waiting for the big part 💪
great work
That was amazing! What was fz for the secound side?
nice work !!!! excellent videos do you have a part component list where to buy?
Everything looks and works perfect. To get better sound records, maybe, you can record with and external microphone out of the machine enclosure and sync the video and audio in editing software.
Chip soup! Love it. Btw, this is insane MRR for a homebuilt machine.
haha Tnx, i just run it tough a calculator and it said 144cm³/min.
I mean this "DIY build" leaves behind a lot of commercial machines. All epoxy granite.
@@Ale_Lab It crumpled haas, tormach, syil, this stef guy is an absolute guru.
@@max_eley yes absolutely. I have a super mini mill at the Uni. To me this one sounds better then the mini mill while cutting.
I'm pretty sure he is still far from the limit. I got up to 450cm³/min on my diy machine. And its only a "normal" portal style build.
Sure, we like this 🙂👍
Where did you get your slide way covers from Stef? They look really good.
Nice one
Hi Stef, could you share the brand and model for the servo motors? I want to build this trunnion and will redesign it based on the harmonic drives i can get, but it would be nice to retain the design for the motor cases. Apologies if this was mentioned already and i missed it thanks!
what brand of CNC is it and how much does such beauty cost?
Hello, this work is amazing, congratulations. are you thinking about selling the 5th axis??
Getting out of your comfort zone probably means getting into the comfort zone of your mill xD
Do you have some kind of spindle load meter? It is the most important tool for sizing cuts to me.
👍👍👍
С меня лайк 👍
what is yhr part numbers for those harmonic drives?
goedbezig. Lopen die harmonicdrives normaal niet in olie?
Nee hij is gewoon geseald en vol met vet.
now if we could get multiple individuals in each European country, US state, Canadian province to go into "full" production and supply the needs of their state/province/country thus denying the Chinese market for these on Amazon, eBay, Alibaba, etc. using the shipping advantage, 'buy local' "locally built" appeal to conscience, same or higher quality, personality draw of builder if on social media such as YT/Instagram, jobs creation, etc......
Now the million dollar question. Where did you get the Harmonic Drives and how expensive were they 😃
They are second handed from eBay Germany. I paid like 250 euro each. they are from the company Harmonic drive AG.
@@Svanitterzon you're quite lucky to get them so cheap on eBay. Every time I've looked they were considerably more expensive. I'd like to build a trunnion for my 3 Axis CNC but I need to wait until I find something more affordable
@@hypersphereengineering6015 yeah sometimes you need to be lucky. Im glad someone pointed them out to me.
Сталь надо использовать а не алюминий😂 жесткости мало будет
И делать массивнее
what software are you using
Edingcnc
did you delete your videos making the cnc mill? I think I remember watching you make them
The video's i have made about my machine are still online. I didnt do a video serie on how to build the machine. (I wished i did)
what brand probe are u using ?
Its a haimer.
@@Svanitterzon gotcha , i was hoping you found some economy imitation lol
@@airgunningyup well i got mine on ebay for a reduced price:) never regret buying it.
2:15 sounds horrible! is it just the camera stick?
Its because i mounted the camera straight to the milling head. On some sketchy arm.
5 axis mill price : 😩
Make my own mill price : 😃
Wait I need a mill to make one…. 😭
Sadness ensues
🤣
