Gday, this has been a great series to follow and to see it complete and running is fantastic, you really have done a great job here, thanks you for taking the time to share, much appreciated, Cheers
At 15’19” I remember on a new machine I set up the indicator that way , and commanded S3 m3, well, the machine controller (heidenhain) minimum possible commanded speed was 5rpm, and the spindle started at maximum speed 5000 RPM , After 5 years I’m still looking for the indicator .Be Aware….
could you please give me more info about: 1: the brand of the servomotor used 2: the brand / type of the cycloidal drive you used and where you bought them both. thank you very much
Nice Stef 😀 only question I have is why is the riser so tall, wouldn’t a third of the height still give enough clearance? Or maybe you could make a design with stackable raiser blocks that you can add/remove depending on the needed clearance. Every cm of that riser affects rigidity. Cheers
tnx, yes maybe i can make it a little shorter. But this way i don't really have to worry about tool collisions on the trunnion. which is nice in the beginning when im still exploring the possibility's.
how can you tell the machine or in a better word the controle software the destance between the bottom of your work and the 4th axes because iam trying to make 5axis cnc machine with mach3 and i dont now how ever i tried searching please that would be realy helpful to me
For that i need to make the side cover to fit on the B axis belt. Those cables still stick out so i cant mount it and i need to make some kind of plug so the coolant cant go tough the C axis harmonic drive and flood the center piece. Other then that i think its already coolant proof so far.
Greetings mate, excellent job on the whole project vmc and 4,5th axis ... I would be interested on doing something similar... Could you share info about the harmonic drives (supplier, specs). Thx
One thing that I would add is a location key in the bottom of the base , exactly in the center of the trunnion , and perhaps a location spigot Bolted in the table , that way you can just drop it in the table and have your location offsets in the controller, great time savings
You got very dencent second hand harmonic drives and very good overall construction。What kind of home switches that are used in the 5th axis, mechanical or inductive ones? Are they useful and accurate enough?
inductive ones. i still only have the one on the B axis working it seems to work pretty well sofar. The home speed is insane slow to make it little more accurate.

Amazing work man! You inspire a lot of non professional DIY lovers! Thanks man
Tnx for the comment!
Beautiful design and execution! Thanks for explaining the Work Coordinate System for your project
Hello , can you sell the drawings for making the trunnion , I wish to build this in India
Well Done, Please can You guide me about postprocessor .. can you share with me
CNC vendors come here to take notes xD Amazing work!
I congratulate you on your machine. I have a question I want to ask; Which post do you use in Fusion 360? Haas?
Bravo Sir! This is the most professional beautiful DIY CNC build I've seen on youtube by far! keep up the great work!

What do You think about ADTech4690 6axis motion control board, I can't decide among it and Eding760 6axis ??
If you don't mind me asking, what post processor do you use in fusion 360?
I bet alot of us would like to see how your software works and what you had to change to make it work. 🤔 I'm really interested!

Thank you sir your video all very useful 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Any chance you can share the build files for the trunnion?
Нужно добавить упор. Возможен сдвиг заготовки
How Newton is the torque of your axis B & C servo motors ??
Instead of milling a sloth for C axis sensor, just drill a hole...
echt mooi gedaan, en een
prachtige machine heb je, complimenten hoor
Can you help me to make this axis for me
10+ thousands for 5 axis software...Do you sell plans of your milling machine?
There is a 3d model of the machine on grabcad. grabcad.com/library/epoxy-granite-vertical-cnc-mill-1
@@Svanitterzon i see 3d but no sketches with dimenssions...
@@bobanppvc if you open the 3d model in a cad program you can measure every dimension you need.

Incredible job... Kudos 😎
Amazing CNC machine. 👍
класс!
Heel erg indrukwekkend Stef! Ziet er goed uit!✌️
As always, very nice work! Any plans to make a coolant proof version one day?

very very good job..love trunnion

I would be interested on doing something similar... Could you share info about the harmonic drives (supplier, specs). Thx
Nice work Steff....😉👍
why you use belt instead of coupling drives right into reducers?
Because there is no space to mount the servos straight to the harmonic drives.
wow finally!!👍😋
You are a magician. Amazing build and thanks for sharing with us every details.

Like 👍 5th axis is on one of my to do project. Thanks for sharing and Keep up the awesome work!
ok
Mmmm that was a satisfying payoff at the end, watching that aluminium part being made.
Good jop
Nice work!
Damn this turned out really well. Any plans to share the 3D files in the future?
Very good, thanks for sharing.
👍
Well done Stef. It was satisfying to see it running as intended at the end.
You are doing very good job!
Stef, awesome as usual.
Excellent work!
Amazing build and great videos would you be willing to share the cad files as I plan to build my own 5th axis for my mill
I first want to put the trunnion to more testing and then later i will upload it to grabcad i think and post a link somewhere here.
Amazing work!!
Congratulations!
Awesome build
Muito bom ! Parabéns.
Magnificent!
Great work!

@@Svanitterzon thanks!
Awesome. I stayed up late just to watch :D
It wasn't my intention to disturb your night rest 😅 tnx it means a lot to hear you like the content👍
@@Svanitterzon Well worth it. Keep up the great work. We appreciate it.
