Someone just pointed me towards the Vehicle Virgins channel who create a lot of videos in this style ... so if you enjoyed this, please head over and check out some of their content: ua-cam.com/users/VehicleVirgins
+Seen Through Glass I'm also tall like you, so i got the exact same problem with the traffic lights. Why not move the traffic lights across the streets, like in America. I think alot people would be happier with that !
Yep I agree..... It looks more tacky as time goes on. Obviously running out of content to film. Should stick to stuff like like this which is more original with a bit of humour :)
+AJ3 great to see that you watch these car videos too. I watch all your videos and ik lovee cars! you should make some car videos but you dont have a sportscar...
Sorry, used to commenting on Porsche forums where you say which model you have. The previous poster said 991, so I followed suit. I know it's a Boxster...
...but if you don't have 10 mins here's the 5 "HATED" things : 1 Rearview mirror size (too little) 2 Windscreen visibility (limited for tall people) 3 Distractive electric front seats (too many options) 4 Excessive soundproofing inside the car (or low exhaust sound) 5 Front engine is too confortable.
One of the main reasons I went for the F-Type S coupe was because it sounds so much better inside the cabin. Very classical, racy noise that just vibrates your eardrums. The F-Type R is insane outside, but inside you feel like your missing some of the action, quite similar to the maserati Quattroporte GTS for example. Other than that, the main reason I went with the S coupe is because iris lighter, and I won't lose my license quite as quickly.
+Seen Through Glass sweet, also could you maybe do a video on what kind of lightweight sports/supercar you could buy for like a budget of 30 to 50 000£ ???
Yeah I have been looking in to those kinds of cars but I also would like Sams advice, you know, cause he's awsome and stuff. And also thanks to you to mate
+Kaisuke971 From the position he is holding the wheel though I'd say the seat is quite high, so it may be obvious but if he prefers an upright driving position then he's probably not tried lowering the seat. Me, I always have it on the stops as low as it goes with the wheel slightly higher than mid point, and quite close as well. Check out Chris Harris videos, I sit a lot like him, it looks a bit odd but I do about 40k miles a year and I've never been more comfortable.
+Matt Jarrett I also set my seat the same way he did in the m235i and my m8 always says it looks silly but the amount of feel and control I think it gives its worth it lol
I didn't really have an opinion on the new mustang. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. But seeing it in that gold wrap with all the little details have made me completely fall for it😍
Have you never been offered a job on top gear or similar ,you are so so so good at this i could watch you all the time doing so many cars ,cannot believe your not on tv with your own show, well done bruv.loved your jag.
What are your thoughts on the Alfa Guilia QV? Nobody gets their mitts on one until the end of next year and like many recent mainstream Alfas, it presumably looks better in the wild than on promo shots. But you can't argue with a 7:39 ring time, the thing shifts!
+Seen Through Glass man that's awesome hahaha I will one day own a car like that. I'm saving up for my first car right now haha may be some time yet but I will haha keep up the good videos man
tbh mate I do not dig the white dot. the rest works. I reckon black rims would lift the whole look up. that's just my humble opinion. cheers from Croatia
Don't drill your car to make it more sporty on the inside just get a 'Soundracer' they plug into your cigarette lighter and mimic the sounds of other cars, you could get a V8 one (others are available) you could go for a V12 Ferrari one for instance, great fun, and won't damage your car. Paste and copy 'Soundracer V12 Ferrari Car Gadget' into Amazon, you'll see. Its akin to using a squashed up can in the front wheel of your bike as a kid....
you can easily pop off any trim, door cover, floor, etc and remove some sound dampening material then put the covers back again if you want it to sound cheap and loud.
First of all great car mate, awesome colour scheme - I'm only at 1:15 and like the way you present the practical side of honest features that effect you personally. I think you're in the league to test and discuss other vehicles 'inabilities' for your subscribers!!, Merry Xmas
Hello. I absolutely adore the F-Type and own a 2009 facelift Jag XK myself and I love it. Much of your criticism is highly understandable and the same for the XK! - The rear-view mirror! It's the same in the XK! The mirror is gigantic and obstructs view! What about the outside mirrors by the way?? I have problems seeing in tight corners. Same in the F-Type? - I had a good laugh about you looking outside of the sunroof for traffic lights :D In the XK it's the exact same problem. Not a London problem. I'm from Germany, so... - Same for the seat settings. I don't think you need 'em but it's not that big of a problem for me. - Sound in the F-Type I think couldn't be better or louder on the inside because otherwise it would be a nuisance to drive long distance in it because of droning sound on the inside at certain revs!
The F-Type isn't a GT. The XK was. If you want it to sound louder inside why don't you try removing the parcel shelf and all of the boot lining trim panels?
Finding that optimal racing seat position is tough, account for heal toe, traffic comfort and visibility. Took me about 2 1/2 months after I got my 350z. haha
I would also add that manual upshifting isn't always responsive. I've redlined it a couple of times because it didn't respond properly when in manual mode using the gear shift.
Only thing I agree with you on is the rear view mirror, in performance cars having perfect 360 view is essential! I had that issue my Nissan 370Z's where the side view mirror is massive that it blocks the side view so I had to keep lookin up the same way you do just to see if there is a car hiding behind that mirror! really frustrating! As for the sound, you might love the noise in the bgnng but blv me you'd later on be tired of it on long drives and this shows that you have perfect isolation as well! 3rdly the seat positions, you better have more options rather than less! and the ones you have there are all useful, you yourself were using it so you know that it does work to fit your body perfectly! that's all! enjoy it as much as you can!! lovely ride
I have some similar complaints. I own a 2007 Ford Escape in America. Nowhere near the comfort and high performance you have in the jag, but I'm 6'6 and I fit very comfortably inside, with 4x4 and a compact wheelbase that makes parking beyond easy. I do have Visibility problems though. One being my Rearview Mirror blocking everything on the passenger side, handles on both A-Pillars, and a smallish windshield that prevents me from seeing some traffic lights. I have to do the Kangaroo dance alot too. The Engine is also dampened in the inside. Other than that it's been an extremely reliable and dependable vehicle.
About the exhaust note inside the car. You touched on it yourself, it's sort of a GT car. No one wants their ears to bleed when going somewhere in it for several hours, it's not all that pleasant. I get that for quicker trips around town and whatnot, that LOVELY rumble from the exhaust is the best thing ever. It's just not a good quality in a car that is suited for being a daily driver/long distance cruiser as well. Also, what is the difference like with the active exhaust on/off?
*Don't feel bad. I've got a Jag and after 2.5 years **_just the other day_** discovered an entirely new, and unknown to me, seat adjustment ... which was awesome I love it but I sure wish I'd known of it 2.5 years ago!*
if you want the exhaust sound more prominent inside just pop off the door panels and remove the sound dampening inside. there is also (usually) fiber padding under the carpets as well that can be removed but that takes a bit more work. a more extreme measure is to remove the plastic underpanels under the engine but that can have effects on the air flow.
The weather in the UK is just appalling. Every TV show, youtube vid, it's raining. Always raining. I've been the the UK twice, both times in May. The weather was cold, cloudy and rainy, every day. I honestly don't know how they get people to live there.
Get a "LightInSight" fresnel lens and mount on your windshield. I use one in my Audi, which has a low windshield. Works great, no neck craning most of the time. Btw, why not crack open the sunroof into vent mode? That way you'll hear the exhaust more.
In USA stop lights (semaphore) are after intersections so you don't need to maneuver your head to see light. Very clever and reasonable decision, regulation. Inside mirror like in most of car are not perfectly crafted. Some are better than others but overall the mirrors are there to help us see back as much as we can. Follow an Italian driving philosophy where is says we don't care what is behind us but in front of us.:)))
Q. HOW TALL ARE YOU ? You do live in Blighty with its tight streets, narrow roads & stuff, so I can see visibility being a bit of a serious issue. But I live in the US & have driven a C5 Corvette for a few years & people in normal cars just don't get it - there's so little visibility. I dropped my seat to the floor, slid it back until it squeaked against the fire wall and transmission tunnel, then got it comfy, recorded the memory position - and I did find space. But I am certainly some inches shorter. So I really need to test drive an F-type & really find out if it's just you. Q. What is it like in the Jag, at night - do you get all the bigger vehicles shining headlights straight into the cabin ? That's very bad in the 'vette. Or I'm just not a night driver.
Great vid! Looking at all the comments about the "controversial" modifications is a fun way to pass the time, just my opinion, I think putting a #STG sticker on the white door circles would really tie the whole car together and make it your own (even more)! Anyway, great vid and keep it up! 👌👍
If you go to 1710 am on the radio and crank up the bass it usually picks up the engine sound! Works great on stick shifts. Haha, try it. Not what you are going for with a beautiful car like that though.
I live in British Columbia and drive a big North American pickup truck. Always have, always will. I have no use for little slipper cars. But man oh man, Jaguar have to be the most gorgeous cars out there.
Nice video Sam. One thing I can relate to is your seat adjustment comment. I am constantly fiddling with my seat in my F as well. It's like I've never found the perfect sitting position. And I've had it for over a year now...first world problems right!
Sam, the not being able to see street lights thing is definitely a height issue. Im 6'3" and i drive a big-ass 2003 Dodge Durango, and i still cant see shit when i get to the front of a street light.
STG I love your car, although the F12 would be amazing. That would definitely be my choice for your next car. You're not Paul, you are the new James May. You three are like the new pc version of TG. You guys need to get a writer and start filming together.
Regarding traffic light visibility, I am having the same problem. I'm 6'6". But there is a solution! You're using the horizontal lines on the road all wrong. It took me a while to understand the meaning of these lines, and no one in driving school explains the proper use of the lines. These lines should be used as a reference points. When you approach an intersection with a traffic light you should stop when the line disappears in front of your bonnet, like at 2:31 and make a full stop. That way you have full visibility of the intersection and traffic lights in front of you. And no kangaroo bobbing... I've tried this in several cars and it works!
You touched on something rather interesting when you said drill holes in your car to make it louder... Well, you clearly can't do that for obvious reasons, but what you CAN do and it's reversible is remove some of the sound deadening material in the rear of the car. It's adhesive backed, probably 3M material, I'd imagine a hair dryer would be all that's necessary. I'd start at the very rear, closest to the exhaust, then either move to the sides of the fenders, or the bottom of the 'trunk' well below the spare tire. Bonus is you can always put it back on, and if you like it, just leave it out and with the trim in place, nobody would ever know about it. Now this is also predicated on exactly how much you really want to have a louder interior. Too much removal and you start picking up that annoying hiss from the tires like every economy junker has. If it's worth the effort, it's probably only an afternoon's worth of work to do this. Just a thought.
I think you should make the white dot a little larger, put another white stripe up the bonnet, across the windshield and down to that thing you have sticking up in the back. Maybe slap on a few bumper stickers - just go with it, put them everywhere. None of this will make the car look worse than it does now.
I recently put in a nice gentex mirror in on of my sports cars. With the valentine one and the controls on the mirror I feel it blocks my view. So I went with a never frameless gentex mirror and problem solved. Sounds like that would be a good solution for you.
the problems you have with your car 1) you're too tall for your low slung sports car 2) you're too tall for your low slung sports car 3) you're too ocd to sit back and enjoy the fact you can adjust your seat in every way possible 4) you don't like how 'jag' ish (refined) your jag is. open a fucking window 5) you don't like how such an amazing car has changed your perspective on cars these sound more like things you don't like about you than your car
I hate the white spot, white stripe, white lipstick, tyre writing and black spoiler, basically put it back to stock lol
+Cornwall1888 I agree, all the white, the tyre stickers and the spoiler totally ruin the car. Doesn't suit it at all
+Cornwall1888 Yep another potential classic car ruined by someone with more money than sense or good taste.
I think he's trying to recreate a f type project 7 look, they are phenomenal cars though :)
agreed
Which he can easily. Most likely more easily than it would be for you to buy one.
The big fucking circle
+snowcat you'd hope he would just pick his favorite/lucky number to put in there, but noooo
+snowcat Lol! I usually watch your vid's and now i found ya here :D But i agree, wtf is up with that circle.
I hate square
+snowcat holy fking shit its snowcat
+snowcat You being you, and I and I
Things I Hate About My Jaguar F-Type R:
1. I don't have one
Someone just pointed me towards the Vehicle Virgins channel who create a lot of videos in this style ... so if you enjoyed this, please head over and check out some of their content: ua-cam.com/users/VehicleVirgins
+Seen Through Glass Great video topic I LIKE!!
+Seen Through Glass This guy is really good been following him for a while now! Ooh and I really like you channel keep up the awesome work!
+Seen Through Glass I'm also tall like you, so i got the exact same problem with the traffic lights.
Why not move the traffic lights across the streets, like in America.
I think alot people would be happier with that !
Vehicle Virgins is a fantastic channel.
vehicle virgins don't say stupid things just because they don't have nothing to say and want to make the video longer
Please make a video of how to ruin an F type because I can see you have already done it once.
Yep I agree..... It looks more tacky as time goes on. Obviously running out of content to film. Should stick to stuff like like this which is more original with a bit of humour :)
+cascroft2011gaming That's completely your opinion though? It's not your car... Sam has modified it tastefully in his opinion. Get over yourself
it looks awesome
It wouldn't be bad without the circle on the side
+cascroft2011gaming Yes. That is an elegant, stylish car as it is. To each his own, but making it look like a riced-out Honda Civic....geez
Its never hate.. just love... Things you might change, well thats a different story. Love your car mate!
I experience exactly the same in my f-type, I'm 6 foot 4,.
Tall people struggles bro.
Do you have the r model ?
Wtf AyLeMayo
Wtf Sparkles :D
ayy ninja lmao
I'm 6'8" is there any hope for me dude?
The white dots 👀
hey!!!
+AJ3 great to see that you watch these car videos too. I watch all your videos and ik lovee cars! you should make some car videos but you dont have a sportscar...
+AJ3 it is to resemble the Project 7 version of the F-type
Nice video! Loving your content more and more, every video I watch!
+Owen Williams Thanks mate
+Seen Through Glass *m8
lower your seating position. QED
+Sathyan Thambirajah It's as low as it can go...
I have a 991 and I find that the seats are very uncomfortable. how are your seats ?
+Sathyan Thambirajah Which seats do you have? I have a 981 with the 14-way adjustables and think they're the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in.
+Michael Esarey Oh yah...a 981 ? ....it's a Boxster !!
Sorry, used to commenting on Porsche forums where you say which model you have. The previous poster said 991, so I followed suit. I know it's a Boxster...

3) The white stripes
4) The white circle
5) The white accents
Great editing and video as usual!
2:12 The guy in the white van peeking through xD
Shmee150 is the professional and technical guy, Paul is the cool guy and Sam is the funny guy! I always enjoy these videos! :)
You are the Casey Neistat of the car youtubers! Keep up the great work Sam!
+Ross McKillop no. He's Sam.
Saaaaam neistat
+Ross McKillop lol maybe that's because he's totally ripped off Casey's style of editing and music...
+amays86 but Sam did mention he's 'inspired' by Casey and even Casey is okay with how he inspires others to create
Hi bro!
Can you make a video about what kind of car you should get as your first car? If you have a budget of like maximum 5 000£
+Renwar Ali Nice idea...I'll try and look into this :)
+Seen Through Glass sweet, also could you maybe do a video on what kind of lightweight sports/supercar you could buy for like a budget of 30 to 50 000£ ???
+Seen Through Glass Please also in Euro !
+Renwar Ali Hey im 13 and im probably nonsense to you, but maybe like a VW Golf as its quite practical i think.
Yeah I have been looking in to those kinds of cars but I also would like Sams advice, you know, cause he's awsome and stuff. And also thanks to you to mate
i know 1 thing every 1 hates and thats the white dot on the sides :p
You can see the man of 6:42 think: "Look at that poor man in his F-Type R. I'm glad that I don't have to deal with the problems that he is having!"
Can't you put your seat lower? or is it as low as it can be already ?
Are you forreal... You really thnk he as never ever thought about that ?!

+Matt Jarrett I also set my seat the same way he did in the m235i and my m8 always says it looks silly but the amount of feel and control I think it gives its worth it lol
+TheCoBBus He's adjusting at least 3 of the switches each traffic light so he's probably covered that option...
Regardless, this car is small and not meant for everyone, especially tall people.
Quality of editing is getting r e a l l y good now.
You should teach Paul about music choice and the volume of it in videos...
I know people don't like the whole project 7 thing you've done with your car but I actually love it
I don't even know why Yianni's got more subscribers than you
Ksi got him famous
+Alston Tan Ya, but Sam has more videos quality than Yianni
Yiannimize buts no effort in their videos compared to sam
yianny wrapped ksi's lambo. simple as that
+GTgameTime The difference is only about 8 months
Good vid mate! Honest and not pretentious like most content out there
If ever there was an example of having more money than sense...although I suspect that would still be the case if he only had 20p...
I didn't really have an opinion on the new mustang. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. But seeing it in that gold wrap with all the little details have made me completely fall for it😍
For some odd reason I just love those coloured paddles.
Did you get to choose the colour of them or do they come like that? :p
It's an option
It must be a 2015. They changed the paddle shifter color in 2016 and beyond.
i love those shots of the outside of the car while driving
it's a hard life, hope you can make it through your pain. those refugees don't know how lucky they are 😊
Have you never been offered a job on top gear or similar ,you are so so so good at this i could watch you all the time doing so many cars ,cannot believe your not on tv with your own show, well done bruv.loved your jag.
Music choice was really really good.
What are your thoughts on the Alfa Guilia QV? Nobody gets their mitts on one until the end of next year and like many recent mainstream Alfas, it presumably looks better in the wild than on promo shots. But you can't argue with a 7:39 ring time, the thing shifts!
3:24, “the things that suck in the wings..." lol, its called side bolsters.
This was a great video Sam. The video was perfectly edited !!
This channel is awesome just became a subscriber as I like your videos. Just wondering is this your daily driver? Or do you have two cars?
+David t Thanks mate, really appreciate that. This is my daily driver
+Seen Through Glass man that's awesome hahaha I will one day own a car like that. I'm saving up for my first car right now haha may be some time yet but I will haha keep up the good videos man
Sam - your personality + this type of content is compelling viewing - keep it up !
tbh mate I do not dig the white dot. the rest works. I reckon black rims would lift the whole look up. that's just my humble opinion.
cheers from Croatia

every single "exterior mod" you have done to that car, is making it look like shit. Great job.
you can easily pop off any trim, door cover, floor, etc and remove some sound dampening material then put the covers back again if you want it to sound cheap and loud.
That click-bait title... "Hate" is too strong of a word
I do enjoy your sense of humor too LOL. I am getting one this week. Excited! Thanks for your video reviews. Enjoyable! Cheers!
#6 - The custom upgrades
lol
First of all great car mate, awesome colour scheme - I'm only at 1:15 and like the way you present the practical side of honest features that effect you personally. I think you're in the league to test and discuss other vehicles 'inabilities' for your subscribers!!, Merry Xmas
Your getting old, that's why your liking the comfort and refinement over the passion, noise and back breaking suspension.
+Stephen Butler Haha! So true! Maybe if i still had hair i wouldnt have sold the Alfa
+Seen Through Glass You should get a Lamborghini like Supercar of london !!!!!!!!!!
+Jay G why stop at lambo, just get a veyron! ;)
Hello. I absolutely adore the F-Type and own a 2009 facelift Jag XK myself and I love it. Much of your criticism is highly understandable and the same for the XK!

Sounds like you need to get a 911.
+Nigel Saunders NOO LOL
THAT THING SOUNDS LIKE A HYBRID NO SOUND WHATSOEVER..
+Mike Zarka You're out of your mind
What, like ANY 911? They're not all good mate.
Nigel Saunders, The Bonsai Zone 911 sounds like shit
I really like this vid! I think its even more interesting what people don't like about their car they love.
+JMOX Thanks for watching :)
5/7
This feel to me like old Top Gear so i enjoy this channel very much.
The over privileged are always the most ungrateful.
If you pay a lot you must expect A LOT
Love this background music! Very nice video, keep up your great work! You deserve this car :)
This is the video that made me get my F-Type R, so Thank you Sam!
This guy is the funniest car spotter I've seen! 😂
Hey Sam. You've got an amazing car. Love your videos. They just get better and better. Big fan!
You should add Seen Through Glass stickers in the white dots on your car, actually think it makes it look cooler!

Or I'm just not a night driver.
this was over one year ago the first video i watched from sam and it led me to subscribing to his channel. well done.
Now Sam be honest you did have to nit pick here haha ;) another good video man keep 'em coming!
rambling on, and on, and on.....last two minutes reveals you're looking for something deeper in life...and you best find it.
Consistent great content.
+PokerDot Perry Thanks!
Sam, the not being able to see street lights thing is definitely a height issue. Im 6'3" and i drive a big-ass 2003 Dodge Durango, and i still cant see shit when i get to the front of a street light.
The first video you posted When you modified the f-type i Hated it, but now i love it
love your editing also good job
The old rear view mirrors that could be repositioned higher or lower made much more sense.
STG I love your car, although the F12 would be amazing. That would definitely be my choice for your next car.
You're not Paul, you are the new James May. You three are like the new pc version of TG. You guys need to get a writer and start filming together.
Very well edited!!!!!
Insightful review from an owner's perspective. The Ferrari F12. Now we're talking. Unleashed Power and Beauty.
I'm sorry but that's definitely one of the best looking cars I've seen in a long time
I recently put in a nice gentex mirror in on of my sports cars. With the valentine one and the controls on the mirror I feel it blocks my view. So I went with a never frameless gentex mirror and problem solved. Sounds like that would be a good solution for you.
the problems you have with your car
1) you're too tall for your low slung sports car
2) you're too tall for your low slung sports car
3) you're too ocd to sit back and enjoy the fact you can adjust your seat in every way possible
4) you don't like how 'jag' ish (refined) your jag is. open a fucking window
5) you don't like how such an amazing car has changed your perspective on cars
these sound more like things you don't like about you than your car
