I want to know their plan on bringing all the current flyable ships up to gold standard. And not just with physicalized components, but also with door panels and armor/weapons lockers.
We get so much information about ships while the sales. It’s good that they talk about the actual game.
Ship to ship docking would be something to know more about too

If CIG admits they fked up royally when they let Ryan Church “the absolute best ship designer” walk away, then announce they rehired him I’ll throw money at the screen for CitCon.
I guess I'm the only person that wants to live on my ship. I don't personally care too much about base building. Like yea ill do it but its got the same excitement to me as box delivery missions.

@@OG-Siegal1315 Many UA-camrs and streamers say that the value of Star Citizen is the possibility to walk around in your ship, yet except the first time they get a new ship or when they make a video about it, they never roleplay in it and just run from the cargo to the seat ..
I like where your heads at. But maybe these bases will be able to do more than just live in. They showed mining drills already last citcon. Maybe you can Refine, manufacture, and sell remotely from that base and I don't know of a one ship that can do all that at once. Maybe modular ships? Im just brainstorming assuming CIG is a perfect game...

Considering they only managed to get 30% of what was shown last year done, the expectations this year will be met with extreme scepticism.
That is assuming 3.24.2 which is currently in open ptu get canceled and that 4.0 doesnt go evo/ptu then yes.
3.24.2 makes your 30% increase more to 45% and if they deliver 4.0. that be like 80 percent
By what metric 30%? Most measurements i see is 50%
@jonneymendoza that if is doing a lot of heavy lifting. 4.0 is going to need to perform a heck of a lot better than it's shown so far, or releasing it is going to be a mess.
Being in testing just means they have some code they think will do what they want it to. Testing is there to verify that they're right and point out reasons they are wrong. Until it passes testing, that code could need anything from a minor fix to a complete rework. It's bad practice to treat test code as anything close to finished.
If the number is actually 30% that makes last year's citizencon the most truthful and successful yet. Most years its not even close to that

The 1.0 release will likely only occur after the introduction of at least 30 star systems, Bounty Hunting 2.0, base building, crafting, and persistent habitats, none of which have been mentioned in at least two years. However, if they have devised a method for creating fully procedural planets with just a few button presses, this could expedite the 1.0 release. Nonetheless, I wouldn't anticipate it happening within the next three years at a minimum.
Prediction: They will say 1.0 is on tap for 2026. "Once SM is in place, content updates will speed up and you will be amazed with how everything comes together."

1.0 is official launch. there is no way, shape or form, in any universe or dimention, that CIG will build 3 more systems until 2026. In 2026, we'll have Stanton and maybe Pyro, both obviously incomplete.
@captainharlock3998 it all boils down to whether or not their server meshing updates actually make the game stable. All I've heard and seen so far has been technicalities. If we get 1000 concurrent players per server, but with current stability, the game's going to struggle. Server meshing has to solve problems, and not just make them larger scale.
My guess is that the "The Stars My Destination" panel is just gonna be a lot word salad and people will still be left questioning what 1.0 is supposed to be.
Why are we even having a yearly convention for a game that isn't even out yet?

I wonder if any of my or other player suggestions ("Game Ideas") be seen in the "DRESSES TO KILL" panel (or any panel)? ;-)
I'm interested in the "DRESSES TO KILL" panel in hope that the above happens (1 in 387257 against) so cloths can carry more than one item, especially if there's multiple pockets, a better selection of hats (fedora, flat cap, etc..._), a shoulder bag (not a purse), "utility belt" (Not like Batman) , a true "Duster", "Aloha" shirts and an assortment of other casual and formal clothing?
I'm hoping Genesis will be where our backend service (AI, ATC/Dynamic SM, the economy, etc.) questions will be answered. Highly doubt that they'll show improvements on last year's engine features in that panel.
Genesis isn't for us. It effects us, but in the same way the star engine panel wasn't for us, it's for marketing the star engine.
If they don't say Squadron 42 is releasing within a year, citizen con will be a flop. Or confirm pyro/4.0 (which already is supposed to be out this year).

Tier zero means 100x hype, 99x disappointment.
forget about it, Cargo Empire is pre-rendered, prescripted animation which you can't achieve in game (look at items on table, impossible) so everything was faked to make it look like wow what a great progress and same style will be doen for "Captains of Industry" in a best case scenario it will end up in game 10% working tier0 but chances are it will disapear like "Theater of war" ... only good part is they know how to make catchy trending titles

I think it's pretty clear the reason for the "SC 1.0" panel is *because* they're planning to announce the SQ42 release date which will attract a huge number of eyes from outside the community and CIG want to use that opportunity to say to the general public "idk what you may have heard elsewhere, but *this* is what our other game, Star Citizen, is" ... And I don't mind that tbh; it makes a lot of sense.
i still dont understand how the entire community let itself get gaslit into thinking sq42 was always supposed to be console, it was literally sold as DLC to STARCITIZEN THE PC GAME
@@Dulc3B00kbyBrant0nNo it wasn't lmao...SQ42 has always been a standalone in terms of not merely being a campaign for SC but a product by itself. The code/tech/assets/etc. are shared and everything from SQ42 will eventually be put into SC, but that doesn't mean it's a DLC or whatever you want to try to say. And yes, it has always been suggested it would likely get a console port, but for SC? Never. SC literally cannot go on console, it's impossible as consoles couldn't run a multiplayer game of that scale...but they CAN run a singleplayer
Couldnt Care less anymore about SC. After 12 years am fatigued as f from sc. The lame ass gameplay and friction inside the Game gives mee ptsd. I Just cant anymore. There is zero reason to Play their so called Game. i hate MM i hate the new Green Background i hate their bs approach to make every Thing overcomplex. Iam tired from all those broken promisses and of their scammy Sales strategies. ATLS was a huge dissapointment. Make stuff tedious Just to sell US the solutions... Just a disapointed from CIG.

Let’s keep our expectations in check EVERYONE! They delivered 29%-30% of what was promised at last year’s Citizencon.
Currently expecting 4.0 to hit evo in the next couple weeks, so their delivery is about to skyrocket.
They delivered just about everything and then some. The only thing that isn't making it that we all know wasn't coming within a year was Maelstrom.

The 1.0 discussion is necessary but yeah I am not sure how much anyone should trust what they say in that discussion.

Don't forget, all the videos they'll show of features that are still in concept had to made. Creating a video of a feature that is not working yet takes a lot of time. You can't just show the feature, it needs to be faked an look realistic. Now how much of time and backers money went into pretending all this instead of actually working on these features .. last year, they showed so many features like fire and Maelstrom that were only concepts at that time ..
This seem so underwelming for a Con that is supposed to be the two days where they can blow us away with what they are doing, what will come and present SQ42 that almost should be ready.
So 2 pannels about features (and we all know how they make promises)
Cosplay
in game fashion
social stuff
Ships (to sell) and again promises of base building
And 1 pannel about a game that should be ready and where many thought they would give it one whole day
And all this for 250 or 350 dollars. That is an inflation of 25% compared to last year
I feel sadness looking at those panels ..

if the goal of 1.0 isn't the same as original vision there is a big problem because after 10 additional years they will again abandon what they are about to present this year, on a positive side if it's anything else then what we've been told for years at least i can leave and never look back
I still don't think SoulSinger is a separate game, there is so much to do for SQ42 and SC they will stay busy for 10 more years. I could see it being something related to licensing server meshing technology, some sort of Chat-GPT like AI tech similar to the Mandella mod for Skyrim, some sort of useless App to collect more of our data etc...mayyybe some sort of addition/spin off like Arena Commander is but spending backer money on anything unrelated to SC or SQ42 would be a new low even for CIG's marketing dept and quite literally seems like borderline illegal.

@@benjaminh1034 Tbh ue5 is really quite basic, it's broad use engine, you would need A LOT of work to use it for anything niche like star cit or anything along those lines (it's kinda why a lot of UE games seem similar). Plus it has a lot of its own issues, it's mostly just prettier done easier (not better).

Amen about the “we can do things faster” comment. How often have we heard that from them over the last few years to see none of that? Remember how all these SQ42 people were going to speed up production this year? lol. Remember how concentrating teams onto 1 family of ships was going to speed things up this year? Still not one large ship from that family. They are the biggest bull crap artist out there except for maybe the day after people. And we aren’t within 5 years of release so none of this will matter anytime soon.

Have you never read the panel names before? They're intentionally vague and do not cover all the topics mentioned. They want to reveal in the event, not before. Every year the panels sound boring but are actually exciting or surprising.
Call me a copium huffer, but I'm bullish on development speeding up once a lot of the foundational tech is finished off in 4.0, 4.1. I think things like base building and the path to 1.0 will come a lot faster, now that they don't have to re-write their DB from scratch anymore.

yeh i have blitzed on Spectrum over the years about how to apply social aspects to the game
for starters Social moderation tools in game BLOCK FEATURE for instance
then to slice global chat up in to regional chat areas at locations and maybe try to slowly shrink areas down 6 shards cool but if you can shirnk it down increase those numbers and local areas can become their own shard your hangar becomes it's own shard and ships onboard becomes it's own chard etc.
like if they get the scaling down they can easily make 10,000 player systems if we ever need them.
problem is latency allowing us and eu and Aus players to mix is not gonna work unless they have really fast latency between all servers less tha 80ms ping required so no 3rd world internet users, time to get starlink bro.
now the problem with SOCIAL is the ant socialness and the lack of accountability if you can hide behind a protected characteristic whith is why the COC on spectrum is a total joke two teir system

I don't care about the future of the software, I don't care about their hype machine... I want some results. I want CIG to deliver a playable experience. Don't jump in the comments and try to defend this game ad playable right now be ause tje average gamer.... quits out in the first hour because the game is a mess. We all know it. Sure we all play it we all use the workarounds. The average gamer... simply won't. They will move on and tell people the game is awful.

Yup even with the workarounds and you finally play the game avoiding bugs its just emptiness different game loops to play for nothinng no impact no progress just emptiness and ships. Its not only a bad game atm its almost fundamentally not really a game at all...Its gonna feel the same post 4.0 live aswell even when it gets fixed and stable...dont know why we are excited for 4.0... To explore the new locations and missions for 2 weeks and then what? Just flying in red stanton. its so cooked it does not matter. I was 15 when i found this game. 16 i built my first PC, and bought my first package in 2017. I HAVE A CHILD NOW. THIS GAME IS NEVER COMING OUT AND THE SCAM WAS THE EMPLOYMENT OF ALL OF CIG STAFF FOR THE LAST DECADE. THIS GAME IS NOT REAL.

@@123TheCloop Nobody is obligated to pay loads of money. I paid 45$ for my Aurora and starter package and if the game doesn't end up coming out then at least I got my time out of the alpha. And if it does come out then hey, it's a steal. There's also Squadron 42 which has tons of BTS footage of development and acting, you don't spend millions of dollars on a game like that only for it not to release. Come on now

He's not a shill of CIG, but talks in a way like he is defending CIG on their horrible decision. Its super hard to explain. I used to not care and enjoyed the podcasts. But Chroncy has been the single person that slowly made me annoyed listening to him debate sensitive topics regarding SC.
