I love these races. This should be a new normal race at the nationals, the two primary classes are so stacked. This gives exposure to younger talent and I believe it's a crowd favorite hearing those 125's rip. 125's are a much more manageable machine and less money then the 4 strokes.
Four Yamahas in the top five. 30 minutes with a porting tool is all it takes to keep these dinosaurs on top. Thirteen years later, the YZ 125 and 250 are a testament to brilliant engineering.
Coulda have said it better. I’m convinced that the reason the KTM 2 stroke community doesn’t like the YZ’s is because they’re so old and will still keep up
I'm confused about this comment no doubt that Yamaha makes a great bike, but as far as being old and referred to as a dinosaur you do know they still make 2 stroke 125s right ?
@@pillaryclinton6187 The current YZ 125 was introduced as an all new 2005 model. It featured Yamaha's first aluminum frame on a motocrosser and a new compact 6 speed motor. I know Villopoto's retired and all, but it's pretty impressive for Josh Varize to beat him. If that doesn't give you a boost of confidence, I don't know what will. Impressive .... no other way to put it. Villopoto was not just a pro, he was a truly ELITE pro.
We can never take away what RV did as a racer. Truly one of the greatest to race in our time (and I can only think of 3 truly dominant riders... RC, JS, and RV).
worked pala at the corner before the rollers down the hill, were not supposed to cheer for the riders but EVERYBODY went nuts when they came through on the last two laps side by side. best racing of the weekend by far
Byron Cooper AMA rules, We’re not allowed to cheer for any rider because it’ll appear as a bias if a rider goes down and a rider we cheer for gains track position. Adds professionalism for track workers
Gives me goosebumps watching this. What an amazing moment for Josh. No shame on RV’s part and was stoked for the kid. Probably the most fun battle he’s been in for a long time.
What I appreciate most about this edit is the way they were able to include some 3rd person footage. When onboard GoPro footage is used exclusively, it gets a little boring. Nice job.
This is why I still like watching racing from the 80s , 90s , and Carmichael era. Two strokes are so much more intense. Four-stroke farts don't do it for me.
that was great!!!....125c class is the go....we need more 2 strokes in MX...too many jumps tho, would be good to see at least one long flowing straight and corner.
This was the race of the day but just to keep things real, the winners were some 12 seconds slower than Hunter Lawrence on a 250. Thats 12 seconds per lap. Just amazing
You can see that line off the Start that Cianciarulo was hoping would work for him in his Moto 1 (far outside). Worked perfectly for Villo here. Not so much for AC in 250 Moto 1.
Brings a tear to my eye. Memory lane... 1974 Cr125 raced (in 1974-78) at Irwindale at night, Escape Country, Valley Cycle Park, Indian Dunes, Saddleback and Orange County Raceway. Today I put a 2017 TC125 on the track. But just be on a track, not compete. I'm 60. Still one of the purest talents of a person on a machine.
I wonder why you rarely see a helmetcam pointing backwards instead of forwards - you wouldn't have to worry so much about the camera lens getting hit with mud/roost. And the footage would be just as cool for the rest of us.... I know many riders want to see certain lines etc. But for a "novelty" race, cool video footage is more important. Turn the camera around backwards, muddy lens no more...
Im not a ktm fanboy but Clearly the ktm is a superior bike than the Yamaha plus the kid being alot lighter than RV helped him pull ahead on the s8s and uphill.
yea the #24 had bout 100lbs less than rv and rv still the man but this racing is so much better than 4stroke nobody get out to a fucking 30 and 40 sec lead and if there we more laps i know the lead would have changed alot more rv just wanted a beer cant blame him and yamaha still payed him but KTM just brings a ringer on every race now some young kid and this supp to be an allstar race not schoolboy but never the less good race go rv
im more excited to watch these than the pro nationals

why not 250 2 stroke
Yeah 🤘🤘🤘
2stroke racing is just like the F1's, pure and raw 👊✊
not just young kids anyone can ride these amazing machines str8

Kid had a 150
@@Edubbcamaraman would a 150 be allowed? Joshua Varize is 17 and probably 50lb lighter than Ryan which would help.
@@Edubbcamaraman not a 150. 125 "practice bike" at that!
Matt Payne if I remember correctly, they allow 150s, but they also allow big bore kits. At least that's what I remember from past years.
Soundtrack by Ryan Villopoto, Produced by Mitch Payton.
Villapoto is still a beast ... absolutely amazing
This was the highlight of the whole national.
Good Lord if this doesn't make a case for 2 strokes I don't know what does.

One of the best races I’ve watched. Great action
125 racing is so much better to watch than 250F's.

It's good to see RV out having fun. I wish they would bring twos I honestly found this more fun to watch for a change than the premier.
all races should be in views like that
It's awesome that RV is out there racing these kids and not just sitting around getting fat. Mad respect for this Champion.
gift of the gods. thanks for the vid. GREAT JOB
This is seriously the best racing right now.
In 2021 they should also include a 125 class championship in the AMA Motocross Nationals.
nice job racer x that was real moto x
Way to put on a show boys! Very nice video RacerX
that kid is on it!
Did that Husky have R&D on the fender? R&D is still around?
Best race of the day.
Looks like so much fun!
Makes me want to sell my 350 for a two stroke.
You should.
It will do you good 👏

that beautiful Honda #27 must be a 08 or 09 250f frame with updated plastics, slick ride

They've never not been great. I still have 3 of them. Will never sell them.
GREAT edit! really incredible RACE. AWESOME rider perspective. Can you imagine supercross races with live riders view?? God Bless America!!
Best race this year so far..
Is that Vince Friese that won???

Talon is super gifted! RV better go on a diet. The Orange Brigade was straight faster with its lighter jockey!!
wednesdar 4 Yamahas in the top 5. The YZ 125 with a 30 minute port job is dominating this class.
beating champs like villopoto and haaker, damn this kids riding is impressive
U can see this on GoPro btw
O-oo RV2 Star boy) -- Respect!
That Ktm was pulling that kid good up them hills.
“That kid”
bob kilbarg it is a kid lol he’s 17

Varize rules
who is the kid on the KTM???
I miss the 125 KXs,CRs and RMs...
where is Ryan?
Wow good race damn
thats my homie josh varise
Wait was it just them 2 racing?
How many actual 125's competed in this race?
Thinking the same thing.
Good question
Probably only the recent pro racers. Like RV and Wageman
They dnt call him jammin for no reason.

it is in no way shape or form superior. The ktm rider was tiny. Every lb counts on a 125
2:06 🤘
This helmet view doesn't work for me
If that dont get the Adrenaline pumping! Nothing will ! Ace..ace
Eli Tomac is the king of motocross in the United States...
Es ļoti gribu moci
Mrons, Indians hav no, track named "Fox Raceway!" No maps
RV bike seemed to not have the same power. Did that other kid have a 150?
RV is retired likes to drink beer, that 17 year old kid probably weight 50lb less than RV haha.
Josh probably weighs 110 to 120. If you dnt know hes milestone mx prince
Ryan is about twice the size of that kid.
Bone stock 125 KTM... Hate on👍
Dam good race but uh.. how bout ya boys at 5:58.
Yamaha still the best
KTM/Husky are a league ahead.
KTM/husky big bore
