The manufactures don't have as much control over what they make as you think. It is the global environmentalists that put the 2-stroke on death row, and forced 4-strokes on us. There was no big outcry from racers to build them. Not many people even thought they would be good for MX, (all we knew was the XR600). It was government regulations that took the 2-strokes away, and now pushing for electric bikes. It is also government regulation that increases the cost of a bike. It was also your school that taught you to always blame companies instead of government first.
You will never see the 2-stroke race on TV networks for the same reason why the TV networks won't show you all the people at any and every sold out arena hosting a President Trump rally. The networks don't care what Americans like.

But a better diffusion of the 2t would mean more views, more interest, more sponsors, so ultimately more good riders, etc. Also, many love 2t bikes. So, even if the level is not the ultimate one, there is a great interest. These riders are still better than the vast majority of us all. They can make these 125 scream and make a great show for motocross fans. By the way, I am a 4t motocross rider... 2t for enduro. I love both. So I am not a ''4t sucks'' guy.

Riding areas are slim because of the annoying noise these things produce. The noise both type of combustion engines produce is what closes tracks & gives dirt bikes a bad rap. In ten years no pro race will be on a combustion engine with the masses to follow. Imagine mx parks in or near cities Or riding in indoor domes or wharehouses? Electric is the future and Honda will lead the way.
Crazy part is RV2 isn’t actively training and said in an interview he usually doesn’t even ride between races. Just hops on, runs his few laps, and gets off. Definitely retired too early skill wise, but I don’t blame him, the amount of dedication and effort is staggering. Once you become one of the best, it isn’t easy to stay motivated.
That is why they need a Master's class for our "retired" stars to race each other in. Maybe a top 4-8 series finish makes you eligible upon retirement. Let them have shorter motos & less races then eat burgers, drink beer, laugh & slap each other on the back afterwards. If they are having fun again they will come.

It is a neat thought, but there is nothing in reality that shows me there is interest from the retired racers. RV is here at this fun race for him, but I doubt he would even dedicate himself to a series again. Your not going to build a series where only one part times shows up once in a while. A better idea is to tell the wacko environmental cases to get out of our sport, and we will make 4 and 2 strokes competitive with each other, and put the power of what we race back into the consumers hands. I am pretty sure the sport would experience a incline if a new bike was $3,000 less expensive.

Wow its been a while since ive seen a jack up bunxh of 125cc 2 strokes..they are rippin the octane max....out oh my what an angry bunch of bees every body bike is scream...watch a change from the frantic 125cc to the 250f an 450f moto sound...this was the best audio of any race....i heard the AMA is taking go pros of racers...or has already why i havent heard a helmut mounted go pro audio in a while...the one 2 5s are so fun i hated them till i got off it then i forgot how muxh lighter they were an still fun to thrash because they were so light....thanks from are sponser now back to the bees....
Is it just me or do a lot of these kids stick to the 4 stroke style of line choice. As in stick to one MAIN line. Not bounce out to in or in to out. I understand that the 250 and 450 classes ran before this moto. But I just kinda picked up on that. I grew up racing two strokes and then switched to 4 bangers around 2006. So I can imagine how the line choices can end up. But one thing I can remember about racing a two stroke was the ability to change lines from one corner to the other. Just something an old nobody saw. LOL
You missed all if RV’s sweet whips on the jump at the back corner of the track. That was the best part of the race. Not the go pro from back of the pack mud covered lens.

I had a 1990 KX pro national 125 2 smoke an it was so fast as villapoto zipps away thru that left an goes right his bike sounds like a 250 2 stroke so did mine it was maxed out an so fun....
I had a terrible time starting and switching to a 2 stroke having had a honda 125cc 4 stroke...it had more roll on and it was more on tap with the 2 stroke i had to get it in my head just to hold it pinned....where the 4 stroke has some drive ability the 2 stroke is a light switch on or off...Ryans bike does sound great.. ..power on tap...
I can't believe retired RV can totally smoke all the 125 hot shoes on a 125 today. I don't think RV ever raced a 125 in his pro days, (not sure, but not much if he did). Now I know we get our butts kicked today at the MXofN race. RV is retired. Is this the new generation that will uphold American pride? With 6 months of training, I seriously wonder how well RV could do against our 450 class on his 125?
Too bad I was working with the Troy Lee Designs/KTM team in the pro pits instead of watching. But who can complain about getting paid to hang out with pro riders and babysit their stuff when they were on the track🤷♂️🤷♂️

He's older than me and he's still going pretty dang fast. But you guys remember, I AM kinda old and I remember when THAT John Ayers was racing the 500cc Nationals. Dude was FAST.... Pardon my ignorance but what makes this an All Star race? The only big name or All Star I recognize is Ryan Villapoto. I know David Pingree rode the first race but really who are these cats? You can't dub something an All-Star race if there's only one star.
It has the potential to be an All Star race, but reality leans more toward it being an All Amateur race. Still, it gives some kids a chance to line up with one of the all time greats, which is pretty cool.

You don't see an NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA or MLS ALL-STAR Game with a bunch of rookies or college players participating with the "potential" of sharing a court or field with one ALL-TIME great and call it an ALL-STAR Game or race. Makes no sense and fans would be pissed off. Seems to me that they (Lucas Oil and the AMA) bill it as such to sell more tickets to fans who otherwise are 50/50 about attending a race with the notion or "potentially" seeing a retired top Pro in this case Ryan Villapoto as the main draw. It's marketing, that's all it is, all for the sake of money and poor attendance. It's like attending a Slam Dunk contest for the NBA just another way to attract more fans to get more money. It's deceiving to the fans, false advertising and wrong in my opinion. Hypothetically speaking, if Ryan Villapoto got injured and pulled out of the race or season wouldn't you a little put off by attending an ALL-STAR race to see a bunch of nobody's or "potential" future Pros (again refer to my previous Loretta Lynn's comment)? And yes, one can say, to race fans it doesn't matter if they are "true race/MX fans" but that's mumbo jumbo you don't have to be "true MX fan" to enjoy the sport and have favorite current and ex-Pro racers. Imagine if Ryan Dungey, James Stewart, Ricky Carmichael or Kevin Windham and others were racing that would be a bigger draw and a truer sense of an ALL-STAR race which IF that happened, it should be a separate race altogether not as a novelty race. Look at RED BULL's Straight Rhythm race they sign big names to sell tickets plain and simple Marketing 101. Sorry for being long winded I just wanted to get my point across.

And I've been riding and wrenching for 40 years. I know what a 125 sounds like - and that is not one of them. Most of those 125 are not average piece of crap bikes. Those kids are very fast Racers. You know they have wealthy parents who throw all kinds of money at their bikes as well. But when Villopoto can line up on the outside Starting Gate and still pull the holeshot easily, that is not normal. We aren't stupid.

Road Jump is always where everyone does tricks but the best view of it is down at the sand trap
