    Love this, have to do this to mine. Q: Ive been told that you cant alter the springs & axle to pass blue slip, eg. to gain more height? Has to be as manufacturer released. Love your input on this. Im in NSW.

      Thank you. I'm not 100% sure about that either. I was told you could but then again, until I see it in writing somewhere I never know what to believe. Whatever I do to it though will be improving it and making it stronger 🙂

      definitely something to look into, but I don't see why and engineer couldn't inspect and pass it and give it a mod plate, but those sorts of things are easier in QLD

      I’ve heard QLD is pretty easy going when it comes to those sorts of things 👍

    Good job so far, thought you may have decided to fit wider/higher rims and tyres, given the chance, to assist with offroad capabilities.? Will the new wheel arches accomodate this.?

    • @jossandell
      @jossandell  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you! I'm going from a 185/14 tyre to a wider 15x7 rim and a 235/75/15 so it'll be wider and about 4 inches bigger in overall diameter than standard. I made sure they'll fit width ways and the new suspension, axle etc will give me enough clearance in height as well it shouldn't rub under the guards. Going to run off-road leaf springs with the rebound dampers as well as Alko shock absorbers so should help heaps with going off the beaten track 👍

    Hi for the wheel tubs what supplier did you use? and the exact thickness of the galvanised metal? can you recommend anyone that makes them? I live in WA. Thanks appreciate your info

    • @jossandell
      @jossandell  11 місяців тому +1

      Hi, If you watched the episode you would have seen that I made the wheel tubs from scratch using 1.6mm galvanised sheet. We are located in NSW so unfortunately I don’t know of anyone in WA that makes them sorry. I’m sure there are places online that would sell some ready made.
      Cheers,
      Joss and Ell

    Did you guys need to fix or replace your window controllers? For me finding info on how to fix them is difficult. I’ve seen assembly and polishing but everyone skips the steps to how to fix them when they don’t wind.

      Hi Ingrid! No we didn’t have to luckily. All of ours worked great in good original condition. I always get nervous I’m going to break them but they’ve been fine! I’ve heard people saying they try and buy spare ones from wrecked vans when they can as they can be hard to come by.

      @@jossandell my roof is still broken at the moment and because I’m staying in caravan parks I can’t repair it. So I thought I’d try to get the windows working as the warmer weather approaches. I’ll definitely need more air flow. My scissor lifters broke but then I had mechanics put on the new ones and they were too strong they ripped the pop sleeve off the roof ply because it had minor water damage around the edges, so I’ve had to keep it down. Not great for the neck and back! Ok for winter but gets very warm on warmer days.

      @jossandell  Рік тому

      @@Ingrid_clare that’s such a bummer! Hopefully you can get both the roof and windows sorted soon then. You’ll definitely want the air flow for summer time and having to duck down with the roof down constantly would be a pain! We ended up just installing gas struts on the sides to lift the pop top up, so much better now and hold the weight of the solar panels which is great.
