The rane 12 look great. It's to bad that it only works with Serato. I've been using traktor since traktor studio. I will never do Serato because is only works with selected hardware. That's the reason I never got into pro-tools. In the past Pro-Tool only worked with selected hardware. That's why I use Ableton Live. Rane let us know when you plan on release a new deck for other DJ software. Don't limit yourself, open up the platform to all DJ.
Not completely true. I have a windows laptop running Serato with 2 Technic 12's and a Behringer mixer. You just need the Denon DS1 serato interface. it's like $300. And I didn't have to buy new hardware.
Wrong, first motorized controller (before serato) was the Numark CDX/HDX. My HDX's work great w/Serato! Yeah, I just took it way back. Not hatin' though, moving on to these once my HDX's fail since they do not make them any more.
Do these turntables eliminate the fluttering BPM in the Serato DJ Pro software you get with using analogue Technics turntables & DVS control vinyl? If they do, does it even eliminate the fluttering BPM using a digital file ripped from vinyl? Thanks
I just might cop these but I'm never gonna part from my original technique tables they just might go into the volt with me when I check out you never know when you just might need them again that's just like getting rid of an old skool classic car that still in mid condition what are you crazy the only thing about these is I just don't want to be stuck using Rane software all the time but so be it I will most definitely be coping these joints
Hey, Reflux. Great question! You would not be able to use the Rane Twelves with the DDJ-SB3. The DDJ does not have the audio inputs to accept the Rane as an input source. You would need to have a mixer with available alternate inputs to use the mixer with the turntable. I would suggest getting the Rane Seventy Two to go with the Twelve. If your computer has limited USB ports, this opens the opportunity to provide more ports. This can help clean up your cable mess, too, and hide them away a bit easier! Hello OP, I need help with my one rane 12 and my rane 72 that I bought very recently. I use them with Serato DJ pro. When I press the twelve's start-stop button it runs but the track on serato dj pro doesn't move. What should I do? Please help
I wish the consumer had the choice of running serato not the manufacturer telling us and that we have to use that specific mixer. I hope when Rane releases there upgrade it is more like actual 12 where you connect using phono lines not usb and that it comes with flash drive for those that just pop in our memory stick and are off!! And no need to be in battle mode i think it kinda defeats the purpose djs set up their 12s like that so the S Arm does not get in the way when battling. Put the. 12 like a 12 with start stop on the left your pitch on the right and some hot cues are cool in the back and what would really set off the New Updated Version of the Rane 12 would be to some how some way to install a TOUCH SCREEN!! that..would..be Awesome!!! Im sure every cdj dj would lose their minds!! That is a suggestion and would be a great suggestion. To recap: no having to use Serato or Traktor for that matter. No having to use only one specific mixer. Let the dj choose his set up if we are spending the money. Add flash drive to the 12. Put back the original set up no need to be in battle mode if there is no S Arm to get in the way and last but not least add a touch screen to the 12

Thank you for asking this question, as I'm sure lots of other Dj's have, as well. The Rane Twelve Controllers are Serato DJ Pro Enabled. They can be connected with any Serato DJ pro-enabled device mixer with enough extra input channels. They do warn on the Rane site that while it can be successful, it can also cause some artifacts and unexpected controller behaviors when combined with some controllers. Can you buy just one of the rane twelves and use it for scratching while using a Pioneer DDJ-SB3 for mixing?
