I will have the on the field review coming soon as well so stay tuned! I was in home quarantine after my US trip so I couldn't go out to shoot anyways so I'm both excited to go out to shoot and to be shooting on the new Xperia PRO-I :D
I love this, looking forward to your next videos with this! I'm very seriously considering this for my next "phone" but man that price tag was steeper than I thought it would be.
they said it's not a mobile phone, it's a camera with a mobile phone. If you compare with RX100, it's only few more buck for a premium phone. And if you are used to take photos with real cameras only than you can take much better quality photos than any other phone with this one. Other wise as a Phone Camera for a amateur, Pixel Pro is the best now. This means it's only for a photographer, even the system is mimicking a real camera not a Mobile Phone's usual camera setup.
@@polashquadhi2330 I use my phone all the time to scout out locations and when I’m just too busy to grab all my gear for a quick photo walk so this “phone” is ideal. It’s still almost the same price as a spare A7riii body though. Which is a lot of clams.
@@robbaube7249 you get portability, water and weather resistance/Action Cam, 5G Premium Phone, Zeiss Lense, extra. We can't just compare like this. The purpose is completely different. But still, it's not just a phone. The OS and apps are like real camera for Photographers.
@@Lobelt108 The fact I dont get to see the presenter in the videos is quite a dealbreaker for me, it’s actually a very good channel for sony lovers but I’m more into kohki’s way of reviewing
I'm literally left in awe.😮 With regards to hardware props to Sony, the 1 inch sensor, variable aperture, and comprehensive vlog kit Sony has outdone itself. This really seems to be a great fit for professionals and creators. Will be waiting for the real world camera test to see if the specs on paper really translates into great outputs in real life. (as a viewer I'm really excited to see future contents made with the use of this kind of innovations.)🙌🏼
Haha thank you for your comment and intake! Yes I didn’t think Sony would announce another pro smartphone this early and with these crazy new upgrades! I too cannot wait to create the review video and test this pro-I out✨
saw AUXOUT's video and saw what the little thing could do. It's amazing! It certainly sweeps my setup off the floor even if I have a dedicated camera because of the small size, usability, and quality.
Wow this is probably my dream phone, but of course I would need to test out the camera performance first 😄 Also the OnePlus 9 Pro already had 4K 120fps recording so they might have been the first. Really looking forward to the content you create with this device!
Will your on field review also include video tests and not just the photography? Also, what is the color setting to shoot video with to do color grading later? I wish that Sony would add a log profile to their video settings but they haven't. So what's the next best option? Thanks!
Yes it will include both! For the Xperia pro-I there are two options. 1. Video pro with the standard PP and easier setting adjustments. 2. Cinematography pro with a more video dedicated settings and this will allow you to shoot on a PP called Venice CS, which is not a log profile but the closest and next best thing. Maybe they might introduce a log profile in the near future as they are really pushing the Xperia as a prosumer phone💁🏻♂️
it's super exciting at the first glance but as dpreview pointed out...the phone really doesn't use the full 1 inch sensor due to lens design and size/weight saving. The sensor itself is probably still superior to others(their own mobile sensors) though even if not fully utilized. Having said that I am already super impressed by 1iii/5iii's photo and their raw seems more workable for us who use LR/Capture One. Pro-I being real 1 inch or not I assume to be straight up better than 1iii/5iii too. Cant wait for your testing shots! Did you shoot some of those during your U.S. trip?
Haha well I don’t care much for that camera even tho I love Sony. Because it’s a hybrid. I use the A7R series for photo and the Sony FX3 for video. It doesn’t beat that🤘🏼
The Sony Xperia PRO-I mobile device "appears" to be a wonderful solution for a lot of "imaging creatives" who are mobile. Unfortunately, we will never see this product or any of its accessories in Canada as the last series of Sony Xperia mobiles and any of its accessories that Sony created were never delivered. I had to order my case from the UK at twice the advertised price just to protect my Sony Xperia XZ2 (H8276). At twice the price of any current top brand flagship mobile this device is competing against the Google Pixel 6 Pro at half the price which guarantees five years of updating and support. Sony, on the other hand, has a terrible reputation of support or even updating their bloated operating system. This Sony Xperia PRO-I mobile device sums up what vaporware is all about.
Oh no, a new phone already?(( I've just recently bought 1 iii. Hope it will cost as much as the first PRO and it will not hurt that much, knowing I couldn't bought it anyway))))) JK ;) Happy for Sony and that they not falling behind the competitors. It's Great company with smart approach to the photography.
I think it's 1700 USD, lol I also bought the 1 iii, kinda regret it now. But that good that they are innovative, and pushing the boundaries of smartphone photography and videography. Hope this means that they will continue with a 1inch sensor, and maybe have it in the 1 mark 4.
@@amirlaukholm Yes, we reasonably should expect in 1iv 1inch sensor but then uniqueness of PRO is basically gone and I'm wondering right now why is Sony begin (unless continue the next PRO with his own unique pro capabilities) the whole new lineup if it's not an one-time thing which is better be and they continue their 1-5-10 lineup. For now PRO-I is 1iii with 1inch sensor and videography app as I understand.
Haha I feel like every year or so it updates. But I think the Xperia 1III is already very good. I will see if it’s worth upgrading from a 1III as well🤙🏼 This review video will need some time as I’m trying to cover every aspect of it😅
For $1800 you could get so much actual great APS-C camera gear. I don"t get this idea of pricing a phone at 2x the price of an iPhone. Who is even going to buy this.
The purpose isn’t to compete with an APS-C but rather a all in one solution for creatives. Make phone calls, stay up to date on socials, take photographs, shoot videos, send emails and much more from one device.
Ever heard of Vertu from Nokia? Nothing new here someone will pay. If that's not you then this isn't the device for you. People pay upwards of $1000 for one single hifi cable, a Velcro strap or a powerboard.
@@frankluo230 lol. I just ordered a dunu mmcx for my ier z1r and it cost me 400$ just for in ear cable. And that damn sexy sony IER-Z1r set me back $2000 last year. So trust me Sophie Edel, there are people like me who aren't necessarily wealthy but has the passion for certain tech that we don't mind spending these kinda mooooneyyyy. But if I were rich af, I'll get a Sennheiser Orpheus ($50000) instead of a Sony IER-Z1r or a Focal floor studio monitors ($300000) 😁
