I want to ask you something, Miguel. What is the best color setting on the Xperia to shoot video with to do color correction/grading later? I wish that Sony would add a log profile of some kind to their video settings but they haven't. So what's the next best option? Thanks again!
Sony make great camera smartphones and unique like no others! They deserve massive serious attention from all and l wish they can be in the top 5 again of the smartphone competition the soonest.

Any idea why your test footage looked really mushy? Like the shutter speed was too low or like there's a ton of rolling shutter? The RX series cameras definitely don't look that mushy
Could be compression, which clip are you referring to? They all look sharp on my monitor.

Pixel 6 is a totally ordinary phone camera with gimmicks. Still trying to decide if that's what this is as well. Seems like it's a 12 mp crop, not a 1 inch sensor. Would be great to know.

@8:50 you said second speaker, but it's a mic. The stereo speakers are front facing.
It is not exactly the same sensor like RX100m7 because this in Pro-I has 315 phase detection points (for AF) and RX sensor has 357.
does video pro has the adaptive iso when walking etc?
It has auto ISO, I'll be testing that in my follow up video. 👍
Is it 12 mp? Or a 1 inch sensor? I can't seem to get a straight answer. That sensor is over 20 MPs. So is it a12 mm crop of that sensor? Or are the photos with the main lens 20+ megapixels?
Its a 1 inch sensor but only uses only 60% of the sensor due to the weird size of the sensor compared to regular phone sensor. Its only 12mp but it has an advantage of having a very large pixel size which collects more light per pixel than similar phones with smaller sensor size and also it has a BIONZ X dedicated image processor which can be found on their a7 cameras. Its the responsible for those very fast autofocus and auto tracking and for that image and video quality despite only using 12MP of the sensor.
@@ZhaoHaiBuda thank you. I ordered one as my last Sony phone, the xz premium, was truly awesome and the video from it was so good looking people actually commented on it, which i not seen before.
But calling this a 1" sensor and naming it which shows it's a 20mp+ sensor is annoying because a 60% crop off it is not one inch. If they sold us a full frame camera and it turned out to be a 12mp crop of one, people would sue and rightfully so.
I think the camera in this will be slightly better than the other flagships and for sure better than the gimmicky but otherwise ordinary pixel 6. But if you crop in or digitally zoom a 12mp phone pic it loses sharpness right away. A real 1" sensor of 20mp you could crop in and retain sharpness etc.
So they should straighten that out right away. It will annoy people that this does not really use that sensor but just a part of it.

I'm thinking maybe just getting Pixel 6pro or Xperia 1 III for less.
Also this has native 4K 120p, why didn't the A7 IV have it? Sony didn't want to cannibalize the A7S III if the A7 IV have 4K120.
So with the future RX100, RX10 and even ZV-1 I expect at least 4K60 if not 4K120.

Also sad, Sony was on tripod to beat the iPhone which was not....so with the use of a tripod I get the iPhone will be even better....
Now personnaly I like the design of the Xperia 1 mark III or Pro-I 1000 times more than the iPhone...

One inch sensor, SD card, Mic Jack, Variable apature & 70-105mm lens will win it for SONY surely. I also wish Sony would implement one button recording which super important in emergency situations.

i own xperia pro i for 3 days, i wish sony could add release shutter by voice command, for people like me on wheelchair and with just one healthy hand , this would be very helpful
Um the phone doesn't use the whole sensor so no it's not on the level of the a7 or any standalone camera
Were you using a tripod when recording footage? Also, have you enable EIS? TIA
I didn't have a tripod, but I did use a gimbal for any of the walking shots. My latest video shows handheld footage with EIS turned on. 👍

It's a 1 inch sensor indeed, but only 60% of it is being used. Is it just because Sony preferred to keep it at 12MP and didn't have a suitable 1" 12MP sensor?
This phone shouldn't be in the wrong hands like phonearena , Linus tech ,engadgets etc etc

Battery life on the latest models from Sony (the ones that use the Z battery) are all excellent. Battery life hasn't been an issue since they moved to those higher capacity batteries. 📸
@@MiguelQuilesJr I see... But wouldn't the 120hz refresh rate kinda put stress on the battery? And those phones don't have the feature to where you can change it to 60hz or 90hz right?
Sorry, I thought this comment was on a different video haha Good news is that so far the battery life on the Xperia PRO-I has been great. I even had a few days where I left the phone out unused, and the battery life only went down by maybe 4 or 5%. I'll have to test it again once the final firmware comes out, but so far so good 👍

It sure was, it was an overcast day so there wasn't much detail in the sky to begin with.

Thank you! For your questions, only the 24mm utilizes part of the 1in sensor. As for making a flat image, can you explain what you mean? Generally speaking that's more about lighting, but maybe I misunderstood the question.

Ah yes, you can shoot in raw which produces a flat image in a DNG format. 👍
For video, you have several flat picture profiles to choose from in the Cinematography Pro app.

Wow, that's a lot of cheddar. I'd much rather get a DSLR (even the RP is sub 1,000) that will FAR outlive this device in updates / battery life / usability. Or the Ricoh GR3, for that matter if you want something tiny that fits in your pocket. Phones die so fast, get outdated in so little time, and they're much more fragile than most cameras. I'd still rather get 1000 dollar phone and put the rest into a new lens.
That phone alone is worth more than 1200 with out the 1 inch sensor. It's amazing to game, listening to 360 Audio along with high quality music..it does everything great, no need to have other phones.

Doesn't seem to handle fast motion very well. Judging by how the image looked when the kid ran, at the end of the clip there.
I played back the footage and it seems that was the clip that I used an ND filter. I shot a bunch of footage of him running without it and didn't see any issues. I'll test it further.
It's built for fast motion since that's one of the best features if the phone, I was confused at that part too

I wish they would make it thicker and actually put a 1 inch sensor inside, the only true benefit to this phone is 4K 120p and a shutter button, I really didn’t want another iPhone but it’s currently the best overall option looking at price and image quality. Gutted this wasn’t better - maybe next year
