This game had emotion, music, and combat. I loved this game to my core and i hope they come out with more and I long for more single player games as good as this.
Just finished ori 2, and damn. I feel lost on what to play now. I played on Steam deck and the movement of ori is just so fluid on controller. I NEED more games that feel as nice to parkour around on controller joysticks!
@@HoneyTweeI know. Originally I just picked it up because the bash ability seemed cool when I first saw it on a random video (I didn't know what it was called) and only got the bundle for the Steam Lunar New Year sale, and I'm VERY glad I did. I will say though, the titles can't be "Ori and the (title here)" because of the ending of WotW
@@sammak1862 I kind of felt that the ending did allow for a sequel. But I guess it's up to interpretation. Definitely would have to be some sort of reboot of the series' story so far tho.
I loved the fact the first ori enemies weren't really for combat but traversal once you got the bash it changed the rest of the game to a pure platformer for me
I don't hear a lot of people talking about this, but hollow knight:silksong's trailer implies there will be a few more fun platforming segments that remind me of Ori. Like, even special escape sequences.
Parece que ahora le toca a hollow knight copiarse un poco de ori, aunque ori no me parece una copia de hollow knight, de echo los encuentro muy distintos, lo unico que tienen de parecido es el echo de que ambos son metroidvanias
This is game somehow mean a lot for me. Because.. i just feel the lore, the story just made me more know and feel about reality. One of the best games I've played.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps was like no other game I've played. Incredibly challenging, but also incredibly rewarding and very memorable. Kwolok and Mora's boss fights really stuck out to me, mainly for the horror of seeing Kwolok turned into a weapon to be used against you, and Mora actually having a twist cutscene after you "defeat" her that reveals you actually freed her, and she's not inherently aggressive- but rather inherently kind. The story telling, platforming, visuals and combat were all phenomenal, and I love to see it getting the recognition it deserves.
I gotta say, the windswept wastes and watermill were the best designed levels in this game! I've said it once, and I'll say it again: Ori is a freaking ninja, and these areas give him so much space to run around in that it's perfect. The floaty nature of how ori controls means that you want him in the air as much as humanly possible. Bashing, grappling, and drilling through sand makes the way he moves look like art!
I'm playing this game for the first time ever, and I love it! I'm not even the best platformer, but I feel like it's equally challenging but forgiving for people like me. It may take me time to get through something but I never finish frustrated. The graphics are beautiful..Although, Idk if I'd play on Switch again, handheld doesn't do it justice (I have an old switch). I also love the exploration and story.
Probably what stood out to me the most. This game is actually a masterpiece. Music, bosses, puzzles, PLATFORMING! I literally couldn’t put this game down. I’ve been searching, but I can’t find anything to scratch my itch for something like this game
The movement looks similar in silk song! From what we have seen it has a lot of cool fancy platforming! Nice to see different games tossing ideas back and for like ping pong balls, every time its hit it gets even better!
Ori was a great game all the way through Even the blind forest where alot of the maneuvers you had to do and commit to where extremely tedious throughout the entire game but the game had great platforming, graphics, music, story, emotion, characters, and lore of any game of its variety I've ever seen And the bash ability in both games were so great and refreshing to use in a platformer game and it was so satisfying to use. Like deadeye but Ori. And really the game kinda felt like jedi survivor/fallen order in some aspects (both were amazing). I love this game so much and I pray everyday for a new Ori game.
@@yowza9638Yea, however, I feel that if moon studios wanted to, they could make a title that expands the story after ori fused with Seir, maybe relating to one of the spirits birthed by ori, as we saw in the ending of wotw, but who knows, maybe it would be best to just leave it as is.
I've heard many criticisms of Ori's "sluggish" controls, but I love how dynamic and fluid it is. I'm also a pc gamer and it's the first platformer I've played with a controller, so I had to get used to playing with a controller anyway. Maybe that's why I love it so much? Anyway, I really wish more games had movement as dynamic as Ori
White palace is different though, it’s not even required to beat the game for the normal ending and is really the only area with a big focus on platforming in hollow knight. Both Ori games have a lot of platforming challenges and puzzles throughout them as the main focus of the game.
I absolutely love this game. The only complaint I have is that i wish there was more combat and harder enemies. The combat system is just as fluid as its movement
Ori and the blind forest was my reintroduction into gaming and it did not disappoint and then came will of the wisps. Had to stop due to a shoulder injury so got them both for switch. My love for these two games doesn’t compare to any other. Don’t get me wrong I love hollow knight and can’t wait for silksong but ori is a game I always come back to. It’s fun, it’s got a good story and the music is well orchestrated.
It's wrong calling this game a casual platformer as is neither of them as well as mention that there is combat in it but the video highlights the best part of this game.
The platforming is smooth, the combat isnt as interesting tbh, atleast not in the first one but it is extremely satisfying to kill enemies with the charge jump, i absolutely hate the floating wisp thing because focusing on smashing the attack button while platforming and dodgin enemies is a pain in the ass. Atleast with will of the wisps a melee hit in the air gives you your jump and dash back. But I kinda like rainworlds movement more after learning it for like a couple hundred hours, its just kinda satisfying to pull off maouvers around enemies. Even though oris level design definetly is a lot more centered towards the movement rainworld for whatever reason has like 50 different movement technicues you can do with only movement inputs, a jump and a throw. But to add a little there definetly are some movement focused 3d games, like Ghostrunner and get to the orange door. Tbh idk that many games like that oh nvm dying light and mirrors edge too.
The story of The Forests is done, but that isn't the reason why we have to give up on the systems Gennadiy Korol built for these games. I'd argue that the code should go open-source, so that we could get more games that feel like Ori in the movement department while exploring other settings. Imagine a steampunk game. Or a cyberpunk game. Or whatever-the-heck Sonic games' setting is game. I didn't like Sonic Frontiers' movement. (Although Sonic Heroes is fine. Idk how that works.) I HATED Super Meat Boy's movement. WE NEED MORE GAMES WITH ORI MOVEMENT.
I own over 1,000 games, weird flex Ik, but I can easily say Ori and the Will of the Wisps has the best soundtrack out of any of them. Better than Hollow knights by a long shot, which I'm still surprised on why that's even a debate.
Are we still trying to rename the "metroidvania" genre? I greatly dislike the term "search action." Search action doesn't actually explain what the genre is so its a terrible fit. It sounds like the name you would give a platformer where you had to hunt down a switch or gather enough of X to open a door to get to the next level. We had quite a lot of those in the 90s and they are in no way related to metroidvanias. "Openword platformer" does a better job explaining it but I still prefer "metroidvania" because it pays respects to the games that started it and everyone already understands it.
I can for sure a agree, but hollow knight is way more then melee. If you're looking for a sharp platforming game with an almost infinite skill cap it's for sure hollow knight
This game had emotion, music, and combat. I loved this game to my core and i hope they come out with more and I long for more single player games as good as this.
Ori is probably my most favorite-controlling and moving around game of all time, everything you do feels so fluid and GOSH THESE GAMES ARE AMAZIN
it’s such a flow and will be in my heart until i perish.

I always thought Ori' Bash mechanic was such a cool and unique idea. Its so specific it's like a signature move like Mario's long jump
I loved the fact the first ori enemies weren't really for combat but traversal once you got the bash it changed the rest of the game to a pure platformer for me
Speedrunning ori feels like those epic athletic scenes in moves and thats 100% because of its incredible movement.
Agreed 100% Parkour in ori is just so satisfying

I'll never forget playing Ori & the blind forest and having this heavy feeling my heart. RIP Ori.
Honestly, my favorite games are those wjth good movement, the way you move sets the pace, but good movement can also make you feel more powerful.
Probably what stood out to me the most. This game is actually a masterpiece. Music, bosses, puzzles, PLATFORMING! I literally couldn’t put this game down. I’ve been searching, but I can’t find anything to scratch my itch for something like this game
Lumione has visuals of Ori and level design of Celeste. I don't know if platforming is closer to Ori but that is one game to look forward to.

I definitely want more Ori, but the problem is that
(spoilers for Will of the Wisps)
...
Ori is a tree now :/

Never heard them called "search action" always just called them "metroidvania"🤷🏿♂️
Interesting
Me neither, but I like it! Definitely easier to say than Metroidvania, and the meaning is clearer to those who aren't gaming nerds.
The best metroidvania in the World🫡🙏🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩❤️❤️ I Love it
It's wrong calling this game a casual platformer as is neither of them as well as mention that there is combat in it but the video highlights the best part of this game.
If you want a good game like ori but aren't like me there is a game called gris it's a good starter game with a great direction and simple controls
The story is also great
Masterpiece
Your wish is coming true! The Celeste dev is literally working on a metroidvania!
"search action game" you mean metroidvania?
True, platforming has definitely been neglected as a genre, while it is the basis of many games it is not treated like part of the gameplay.
Bash is cool.
Also hard >>
I love ori and Celeste to death, are there any other platformers that are as good?
Sir Chackchin games
Although Celeste and the Ori games are incredibly good, I feel like it would be hard to be original creating similar yet different games.

No

Listen to this soundtrack almost everyday. It's a masterpiece
No idea what a search action is but ok
It just means Metroidvania.
What about Celeste?
Ori is _beautiful_ and has awesome mechanics, but lacks precision. Hollow Knight is a much better platformer, imo.
Search-action... that's... actually a good name for metroidvanias.
Are we still trying to rename the "metroidvania" genre?

Fr the white palace was one of the most difficult platforming challenges I’ve ever had to complete 😅
Platforming isn’t that fun. That’s why it’s not in more games
