There's truth to that. I just want more video games that combine fun gameplay with solid visuals and performance. I will say, some people have experienced framerate issues with the Will of the Wisps tho.
@@WyvrnOnYT Yeah, WoTW's requrements might be low to lunch the game, but to have smooth experience you need at least avarage gaming pc. Im still impressed that this game is going ~smooth on Switch tho.
The thing about visuals is that Ori has more detail in art itself, but Hollow Knight's lore is in 60% taken from backround and the background also tells the story
Although I love hollow knight as a whole, Ori still beats hollow knight when it comes to the movements. Exploring and backtracking in Ori is just so fluid and far from boring, its satisfying when you unlock all the movement skills and just zoom through the map
Yeah one of my favourite things I’ve done in a game was backtracking to get 100% map completion before doing the final boss in Ori and the Blind Forest. I’m assuming WoTW will be similarly satisfying but I haven’t finished it yet so I can’t really say.
I have only played bf and not wotw but I prefer Hollow Knight tbh. No shaky platforms, the knight immediately stops moving after you let go instead of going a little bit more so it's more precise. I understand why people prefer Ori it is more fluid but I like the clunky and the precise movement of hk
I'm not an emotional guy, but that moment in Ori shown at 2:45 is one the most brutal gut punches a game has ever made me feel. I was devastated. I'll never forget it. And Ori's bittersweet ending left me just... processing afterwards. Hollow Knight is my favorite game of all time, but Will of the Wisps is absolutely incredible as well.
Ori's ending and Hollow knight's ending feel really similar (I'm not saying it is copied). With both Ori and the Knight sacrificing themselves to save the forest/hollow nest. Though I guess Ori will be reborn while the knight is completely destroyed
Both of these games are masterpieces and a lot of these comparisons could go either way. I think Silksong will expand on the genre even more, and will be even better than both of these games in its own ways, which is why I’m looking forward to it so much.
i feel like silk song will end up being either one of the best games in history or it could be a huge disappointment. i’m convinced that it will be amazing either way
I started Hollow Knight a couple of weeks ago, and am having a hard time getting into it. This surprised me because I've heard it is very similar to Ori and I loved Ori. But playing Hollow Knight, I often feel bored and unmotivated. I don't feel any connection to the character, and I often don't know where to go next. Part of that is because I keep putting it down to play other games. Ori, on the other hand, really drew me in. I stuck to it and completed it over the course of a few days. Like you said, the story was simple but emotional. Maybe if I watch that Hollow Knight lore video it will help.
How far into the game are you? I genuinely felt the same way because initially I struggled, the objectives weren't clear, and I was stuck on a certain part. I even dropped it for a year because I wasn't sure I would enjoy it. But after someone convinced me to return, I got past the part I was stuck on and it unlocked so much more all of a sudden. It genuinely gets so deep I felt dumb for not giving it the chance it deserved. I eventually over 100% it, so you might want to at least give it more of a chance (at least get to the 3rd boss of the mantis lords and you'll see how fun this game can be)
@@nandanvinjamury I haven't played for a while. I got wrapped up in the Yakuza series. The most recent thing I remember doing was unlocking the ability to wall jump. I'm definitely going to get back to it at some point. Maybe I'll watch the lore video first so I feel more of a connection to the story. And while I generally dislike consulting guides, maybe I'll make an exception for this game so I can spend less time wandering around aimlessly, and more time progressing. Thanks for the feedback.
@@Jayhawker2000while I advice not spoiling yourself on the story since discovery is one of the best thing about this game imo is the discovery, one advice I can offer is that buy pins to mark on your map or look at your map on places you havent been or couldn't get to because you didnt have certain abilities. HK is sorta linear up until you get the Mantis Claw (wall jump). The game lets go of you at that point and it's where players will have different paths depending on where they poke around. Most players tho will follow Hornet again to the right going thru this section that needs wall jump and into the City of Tears. HK is not as straightforward in telling you where to go unlike Ori and it's something i like better about it. Neighbouring areas are connected in some ways and it's what makes each player's playthrough unique. One way or another, you will always come back to the area again and it's truly the metroidvania experience.
I'll back up that other comment. Struggled to get into the game and after unlocking the walljump and another upgrade, I put it down for around a year. Someone pushed me to give it another try, and after just exploring for a while with an exploratory mentality everything clicked and that game became one of my favourites. What happens it that before the walljump is unlocked the game is pretty linear in its route, but after it *really* opens up.
same I struggle to get into HK, nothing about it gave me the feeling that I want to play. I think the story is the reason, i cant stand hunting for story by reading like what ER is doing which i consider to be inferior way of story telling, this is like watching a movie instead of giving me the story, it forces me to look for little clues and figure what the F I am watching.
You cant compare them. Each game has their own beatiful things. But there is one aspect that hollow knight has that ori 2 doesnt have is that hk is MUCH longer to play. Also, it has multiple endings and parts like the hall of gods, where you can just replay every boss.
I prefer there only being one ending because I always get the worst ending on multiple ending games, and I don’t usually replay games especially with there being the risk that I do it wrong and get the same ending, unless I use yt tutorials which is just long
You can actually replay every boss I'm ori too, the fight against the spider was one of them. I believe you can also do every running passage again but I'm not sure about that
@@felepaopinions997you can get every ending on a single file, after you get the first ending you can keep playing to get the requirements needed for the other endings without losing any progress, hope this helps!
While i agree that the graphics are in a sense, "objectively better" because of how detailed and stylistic it is, i feel like i can connect more with the simple yet deep art of hollow knight. I feel like this with a lot of AAA games (even tho ori isn't one) but when the art has many details it makes the environment feel kind of cluttered and can hinder the gameplay. Hollow knight i feel strikes the perfect balance between detail and simplicity for a perfect synergy between the gameplay and the art.
gotta be honest, it kinda sucks that you didn't point out that everything in hollow knight was hand drawn and hand animated by one dude. ori has great visuals yeah but hollow knight's visuals are incredibly impressive for a 3 person team
impressiveness and quality are 2 different things. while a single person creating a 98/100 is more impressive then team of 100 creating a 99/100 it still means that the team of 100 created the better product
Who cares. Ori visuals are in a league of its own and better by miles than Hollow Knight. Hollow knight looks good, but Ori is the Highest form of art.
Hollow Knight's visuals are better in my opinion, but even if you think otherwise you would still have to give Hollow Knight "the point" on visuals because they were made by one guy and Ori's were made by 80 people so you would have to think about the visuals like if Hollow Knight had 80 people on visuals would it be better than Ori's visuals and the answer is yes so Hollow Knight still wins on visuals@@20puskinas1992
I consider both of these games as masterpieces, I cant put one obove another when it comes to gameplay. Speaking of graphics and music I would choose Ori every while of my life. Don't get me wrong Hollow Knight theming and soundtrack is a masterpiece, but Ori... It's a level out of this world
I would add another category, something like, "world dynamic" or "characters" - and would give it to Hollow Knight, cause... well, the world and the characters feel more "alive" there, whereas in Ori they are more archetypical and don't have much depth. This feeling of the world was something very unique for me in Hollow Knight. To the point where I wouldn't even call it a game, per se, but something bigger. You almost have to be prepared and willing to live through Hollow Knight, which makes it hard to recommend it to casual players. And Ori is just a great game you can recommend to anyone. I guess, similar to how both Mozart and Michael Jackson are great, but in very different ways and for very different contexts. If you haven't played Outer Wilds - give yourself a treat (but don't look up ANYTHING about it)
Amazing video and I really like this style of content! I played blind forest and ori and the will of the wisps then played hollow knight and I can say ori and hollow knight are both metroidvania masterpieces. Ori has a lot less content than hollow knight but low content doesn’t make a game bad. They are both really fun and beautiful games. Keep up the great work (I hope your channel gets monetised)!
in my opinion they feel like two completly games, with ori feeling cinematic, fast paced with a direct story, while hollow knight is thought out, and you can grasp the feeling of decay in the kingdom even though the story is mostly hidden
Nice video, i can’t say much because I’ve only played hollow knight, but I’m planning on playing ori and the will of the wisps soon, so far the game looks beautiful. Also congrats on being so close to being monetized on UA-cam, you deserve it
I feel like this is the case where they’re both so good that I can’t even be upset at either losing to another. Like god of war losing to elden ring, I’m just happy both these masterpieces exist.
"Ori is my favorite soundtrack in the history of video games. So, it's a tie." LoL Sorry, had to take a dig at you on that one! I wanted to talk a bit about the very different style of movement in these games and how it plays into the combat and platforming elements. A lot of people really like the tight control of HK and it's a big reason why those intricate boss fights work so well. By comparison, Ori has a much less precise and floaty acrobatic style to its movement that lends itself better to the creative platforming and dramatic escape sequences that replace boss battles in parts of the game. They feel so different that you're almost certain to prefer one over the other and they're also so central to the gameplay that this is likely to be as much of a deciding factor for the individual as elements like the soundtrack or visuals.
Hollow knight is my favorite but i cant deny the INCREDIBLE movement, abilities, and art of ori. Its so smooth and fast paced that it is securely placed as a masterpiece. However, hollow knight takes my heart with the lore, soundtrack, and replayability. Its simply unmatched.
Great Comparison, I would have given Soundtrack to Ori tho. What I also find exitcing is the fact that Ori and the will of the wisps was the "second part" of Ori and the blind forest and I they Made it perfect in every way. And still Hollow Knight Beat it. I think that Shows how crazy good silksong is going to be.
I personally prefer ori, i couldnt get behind the art of hollow knight, as well as the platforming after playing ori, who basically flies almost half the game, and the fact that my fear of underground made hollow knight make me feel trapped. So basically totally biased ori had pretty colors and art and, imo, better music for me ❤❤❤
Okay, the music isn't true bro. 3/4 of Ori's song are forgetable (and 100% of Blind Forest). Don't get me wrong, I think the musics are "better made" than Hollow Knight, they just too much sound like wind. It enters one ear and goes trough another
I believe it is mostly due to personnal taste in music. Plus, Ori's music has a lot of leithmotif, wich maybe helps. Ori and the Blind forest is probably factualy forgettable, due to the mostly Orchestral instruments, that tends to sound like wind @@sigsqrl
OK hear me out, for me it's: Ori : 8 hollow knight : 5 here's why: hollow knight : 1: more bosses, 2: more exploration, 3: more interesting lore, 4: more interesting npcs, 5: more iconic ori and the will of the wisps : 1: better platforming, 2: more fun traversal, 3: better soundtrack, 4: better story, 5: way better pacing it's not even close, not a single second in ori feels boring or drags at all you get 5 abilities in the first hour of the game, on the other hand you spend most of the early and mid game in hollow knight just walking slowly, 6: better abilities, 7: and believe it or not more original, as far as i know ori invented the bashing ability which is one of the most unique and fun mechanic in gaming, 8: and better combat, take out the bosses from hollow knight and the combat becomes boring real quick, i had fun fighting enemies in ori way more than hollow knight which is just press attack button front or jump and attack bellow and sometimes use spell also quick note, saying that ori copied hollow knight by adding bosses or a sword is silly, the sword was in development before hollow knight came out, there are footage to back it up, adding bosses after a sword is natural, however the shard system and the map seller while hollow knight didn't invent them it's obvious moon studio wouldn't have implemented it if it wasn't for hollow knight
First of all: Soundtrack is subjective and also hollow knight has a really deep soundtrack, i have seen a guy analyzing the hollow knight soundtrack and it's really well made, i don't know about Ori's soundtrack so idk, second of all saying "take out the bosses from hk" is like saying "take out the bosses from elden ring" hk's main selling point are the bosses, and they're really well made. I will play both Ori games and tell you how it goes
Giving combat to ori is just straight up bias... hollow knight's combat is FAR superior and in ori you basicalli just smash one button to attack... also abilities can go to both vut i'd say hollow knight cause of the variety of cases you use them
I appreciate the opinion. Also I don't actually believe moon studios would copy Hollow Knight. Not at all. I was just merely asking the question to the audience.
better platforming and more fun traversal are basicly the same thing. Platforming is traversal. I agree with that point. The platforming is the best in any metroidvania ive played.
I loved both these games so much I had a local artist creat a beautiful acrylic painting for each one. Awesome vid, you did a great job being subjective and fair. People play both these games and you won't be disappointed.
@@formxrthat's the minimum amount of time required to get the first ending. Can't really judge a game unless you've gone through most of it. I know it sounds crazy, but the greatness of this game relies upon its rich lore and content.
Hollow Knight is one the best games ever made. I love the way the player has to discover the story rather than being told everything. You gradually uncover more and more pieces and it just keep getting deeper and deeper until you finally reach the true end boss and it’s just a mind blowing experience when it all finally comes together. Ori is a great game as well, but you pretty much know the story by time the opening of the game is finished.
I thank you for the kind words, but I also disagree. In fact I'm not sure if I said this in this video, but I actually prefer Ori and the Will of the Wisps from a personal standpoint. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is my favorite Metroidvania. The reason it lost this comparison was pretty simple: This wasn't a favorites comparison, this was an objective comparison. And objectively speaking, Hollow Knight is the better video game overall, without any bias. So if there's any bias in this video, it would most likely be in favor of Ori and the Will of the Wisps
Why? Ori's visuals were obviously more complex to make, but complex does not automatically mean better. HK is aesthetically more pleasing to my eyes despite its simplicity.
I absolutely love Ori and still choose that game over Hollow Knight. And even though I haven’t played Hollow Knight, I will absolutely admit that the combat is miles better than Ori. But that’s about where it ends for me. The emotional masterpiece of a story from Will of the Wisps, the level design, the heart stringing soundtrack, and the art of the entire game just blows Hollow Knight out of the water in those aspects. Just from the gameplay I’ve seen around UA-cam, Hollow Knight looks very very fun. And I love that dark and ominous vibe it seems to have. But Ori had my jaw on the floor for 95% of my playthrough and not to mention I most definitely cried at multiple parts throughout the game. It really can’t be understated how amazing that game is, and it’s a shame that it’s not even that popular. Because if it was, we might’ve had a chance at an Ori movie which would’ve been so so so cool.
You can't just say that without playing hk, that's nonsense.. and also hollow knight's lore is far better than ori's and it's one of the best ever in video games, and hk soundtracks are not better but able to keep up with ori's. Next time play both before commenting
I love the combat in Ori. Ori combat might not be as technically nuanced, though it feels incredibly satisfyingly and impactful, especially in conjunction with the soundtrack, visuals and animation. The spider boss is just amazing.
My differing opinions: I think visuals is a pretty clear ori win. I mean, HK's artstyle might be unique in its own way, but the visuals in ori were just simply amazing. I'd give story to HK. Even though they kind of did a shitty job about telling us the story in HK, thanks to our savior Mossbag we know the storyline. Not saying ori's story is bad by any means, it's just most of the characters in ori weren't that interesting to me and I oftentimes found myself wanting to skip dialogues since they felt kinda meh and generic whereas at HK that was never the case. Soundtrack: Not differing but I just wanted to point out just how freaking brilliant the soundtracks were in both games... Thanks for the video! In summary those are both amazing games and both are one of my favorite games for sure. Have a good one y'all
Ori 2 is my personal favorite game of all time, although i acknowledge that hollow knight is better as a game, but I played ori first so I just have more and better memories of playing it
If we're talking about background elements influencing the story, the musical elements of Ori have to be considered. It uses of leitmotif like no other game, in so many ways. At the end of the game, it plays Ori, Lost in the Storm, which was the track at the very beginning of Ori and the Blind Forest, and that will forever hit like a punch in the stomach. Ori WotW is my favorite game of all time, but both games are great
I’ve only played Blind Forest and some of Will of the Wisps so I can’t exactly compare them to HK myself, but considering that they’re some of my favourite games ever I’d be willing to try HK at some point if it’s that good (although I don’t think the visuals in HK could EVER compare to Ori in my eyes just cause I absolutely love the aesthetic of nature in general and Ori does it so well)
Bro I played the will of the wisp and blind forest several times, and I have to admit, I really missed the story and talent tree and stuff from the first one in the second. I genuinely think ori 1 is underrated, everybody is talking about 2 but like the story of 1? The soundtrack? Both is (in my opinion) more emotional than in 2, there aren't any bossfights, that's right, but you really don't miss them in 1, and everything is handdrawn. If you asked me which one I would pick and retry from the start, I would always go with one. 😊
In this video, I mentioned that Ori and the Will of the Wisps is my favorite videogame soundtrack of all time. However, both games have an incredibly impressive orchestra, and no soundtrack is objectively better than the other. For the visual conversation, Ori and the Will of the Wisps is also one of my favorite games in terms of how beautiful it is, but you must understand that visuals are including graphics, performance, and art style. While Ori is the more "Beautiful game", Hollow Knight's art style is a lot more original and unique. Also, certain versions of the Will of the Wisps have framerate issues (The Switch version) Whereas Hollow Knight is absolutely rock solid across all platforms. In other words; if there were any bias included in this video, it would have been in favor of Ori and the Will of the Wisps, because I actually prefer this game on a personal level.
@@WyvrnOnYT Comparing music can't be done objectively according to you, but somehow comparing visuals is an objective thing? that seems kind of arbitrary. And what game looks like Ori 2? a lot of games did the cartoony look Hollow Knight did imo.
I 1st saw the game around 2015 Jackcepticeye Playing I absolutely loved the game and obsessed over it. 2019 i bought the Sequel and got the Blind Forest definitive edition as well but i couldn’t play it at the time i only got to for a few mins Fast forward to 2023 I finally got to play it and continued where i left off, I Absolutely LOVED the Game, from start to finish everything else was super enjoyable and it became my most favorite game of all time ever, still is now after 6-7 months or so that i kept playing it again after i finished it, i played the Original as well “Blind Forest” it was good, but damn the Sequel really made the game 10x Better. I tried Hk after Ori blind forest and TWOTW, i was kinda part of the HK community at some point and also had knowledge about its deep lore already but never really got to play it, i enjoyed the game playing it blindly but a lot of my problems with the game on my 1st playthrough where progression and traveling, it became insanely tedious doing this things and doing it blind meant that a lot of it where me trying to figure out where i should go or what i should do that by the end i had to look things up just to progress because it got to the point that my whole run went from 26 hours which for me is long enough, the Bosses and Enemies didnt pose much of a problem tho i do loved the combat of it, it didn’t feel as good than i thought. I played the game again which i bought from Steam a Week From now, around 16 hours of playing it and about to fight the Hollow Knight after finishing a lot of the Quests and sides first, the game was a lot more enjoyable honestly, i still did some wiki on things that i forgot just to avoid a lot of downtime, and i also did some Modding with the game before i booted it up the 1st time on Steam With all of this Said Ori & TWOTW is still my Most favorite game of All time, the Combat is arguably not as good as Hk but damn its a lot more Satisfying for me, the Platforming is so damn good as well, The music… oh my god the Music is just THE BEST, the story was ok Oh and Progressing through the game Feels smooth as Butter and anything you do either it being sidequests collecting it all contributes to progressing and it never ever feels boring or Tedious AT ALL, and Finally the real reason why its my most Favorite of all Time its because of “Ori”, i cant stop obsessing about this Cute fella.
You forgot: “which games development is more impressive?” Ori: multimillion dollar major studio massive team release with decades of experience between them Hollow knight: handful of guys doing their first real video game in their lives funded by kickstarter for under $60k Hollow knight wins as the better game for this reason alone. Team cherry had next to no idea what they were doing, yet did it better than almost anyone has ever done and they made history doing it. another category could also be bonus content and cost. Ori was like $60 when it came out and as far as i know didn’t have any real DLC. Hollow knight was $15 and team cherry released like two whole video games worth of dlc for FREE! Hollow knight also wins as the better game for those reasons alone. Both ori games are masterpieces. but Hollow knight just set the bar so incredibly high it’s not really worth comparing it to anything else right now. or probably ever. Cuz other than silksong we’re never going to see a game of that scale with that much quality for that cheap ever again.
I love "Ori and the Will of the Wisps"! The graphics are amazing, so colorful and smooth to play. For me, Hollow Knight is a bit long. Sometimes I feel like I play for a while and don't make much progress. I know some people love that style, but for me, 100 hours is only worth it for a game like Elden Ring, Outer Wilds and more, maybe someday i will also get obsessed with Hollow Knight.
I really hate videos like that, because it only makes people angry and eachother. Ori fans will be angry at hk fans because you say hk is better, and hk will be angry at orin fans because they belive ori isn't better
Really good Video. If I May give you a litzle advice, that epuld habe made the "Story"part way easier. You already said that hollow knight has a better lore but ori the better Story. You should just separate them completly if you ever do such a Video again. Kepp going!
@@legrandliseurtri7495 No, you still have to deal with the HP and hazards. There's no cheese except maybe stacking damage boosters, but Hollow Knight has the same kinds of things.
@@Izak_Klark It is way easier to demolish half the hp of an Ori boss in a few seconds than it is to do the same for HK. If you don't fight Kwolok and Mora(Correct me if I'm spelling their names wrong, it's been a while)immediately after unlocking the second half of the game, they get destroyed really easily, while the first two bosses of the game get destroyed easily no matter what. The final boss manages to stay relevant no matter what your equipment is mainly because you can die instantly in the last phase. But even if you do fight all the bosses at your weakest, I think that Kwolok is the only good boss in the game. I would have happily replaced all of the others with escape sequences.
@@Izak_Klark That's still technically a cheese though, In my opinion Nightmare King Grimm > All Ori Bosses. Shriek is like the only good boss in my opinion due to the setting.

i think i'll give Ori a chance , but since i don't have a GPU right now running on my i5 9400 integrated graphics , i'm afraid i'll have performance issues, Also is Ori playable on Keyboard only ? i also don't have a controller right now , i played Hollow knight on Keyboard and it was fine btw
I never went all the way through hollow knight I lost interest maybe around 3-4 hrs but ori and the will of the wisps was the first Metroidavania I ever played I played it when I was 9~ but to this day is one of or my most favorite game I have ever played Edit: every time I hear the song at the end of your videos I cry
Exploring the world and discovering the lore of Hollow Knight was the most cathartic experience I ever had in a video game. The only game that came close for me is Shadow of the Collossus. The sound track in that game rivals Ori in my opinion. If you read this comment than go check out Shadow of the Collossus.
Ori definately has the better soundtrack and it's visuals are far superior, I feel like using its performance on the nintendo switch as a factor in ranking visuals is a little bit of looking for an excuse to not lose hollow knignt a point. Also, personally I'd divide story into three sections: story, lore and characters, with Ori winning story, Hollow knight winning lore, and it'd be a toss up for characters, though I'd favor Ori because half of hollow knight's characters are designed to lack personality. Plus, the villains in both Ori games have really compelling stories and motivations, whereas the hollow knight itself is a nearly blank character being puppeted by a god who is, itself lacking in character.
Saying that hollow knight's characters lack of a presonality is the worst thing you can say.... hk world feels a lot more alive than ori's and every single character has a story behind him, the spirit's grave in resting grounds alone has more character than wotw and also the knight (the main character) is bland and mute because he's HOLLOW, if he talked or had any emotion it wouldn't make sense and you wouldn't concentrate as much on the story
@@MatteoTagliabue-q2r that is subjective on how you categorise personality, I think Ori has more of that. And yes, I know the protagonist having no personality is purposeful, but that doesn't change the fact they still have no personality.
@@samaron8970 the protagonist ok, but there are way more npcs and with a lot of perosnality in hk, they're even making silksong because ornet was so loved in the first game they decided to not just create a dlc but a whole game
@@MatteoTagliabue-q2r But there really aren't that many NPC's with much personality, I should admit that I haven't actually played the game, just watched a lot about it, my original comment was meant to highlight where the video was being disingenuous about Ori, and I certainly wouldn't want to do the same thing in reverse, but as far as I'm aware, most of what you encounter in hollow knight are infected, mindless husks, not to say there aren't plenty of NPC's, I know there are, but a lot of them do seem fairly one-note with noteable exceptions like Cornifer and (for better or worse) Zote. Not neccessarily saying Ori has more rich or memorable NPC's, but I do feel they're on fairly equal footing. My main point about characters was really based on the fact the Ori games have much more complex villains, the Hollow Knight is almost totally hollow as the name implies, and the Radiance is just a scorned god angry that the bugs stopped worshipping her. The DLC's may have added a good deal more, but if we include Hollow knight's DLC's then I'd say it's fair to also include both Ori games and at that point I still think Kuro surpasses Grimm.
@@samaron8970 hk plot alone makes him a better character than ori's villain, the pale king is easily better than ori's villain and also the hollow knight himself, you should try playing both games before deciding which one's better or else you'll be obviously influenced
Totally agree. I've play hollow knight for 180 hours and still have alot more to do and just finished ori and the blind forest after 12! Thanks for the amazing video!😀
Thanks for the video. I haven't played Hollow Knight but the twi Ori games. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is the most beautiful game ever for me. I would like to give Hollow Knight a chance since it's so popular but the art style kinda doesn't approach me that much. Ori games are just almost perfect and I never felt this about any other games. The soundtracks, stories, visuals, NPCs, varying gameplay.. It just blew my mind how much effort and love the developers put into the games. I wish there was a third part or a comparable game out there. But I haven't found it yet. If anyone could give me recommendations I'd be really greatful.
You made sense until you suspected that Ori took the idea of having bosses from Hollow Knight. Almost all games have bosses. In what way does the bossfights in Ori resemble the ones in Hollow Knight? They are not balanced the same way. Most bosses in Ori are massive. Most bosses in HK is not. HK have many bosses, Ori does not. Moon studios set out to do a great platformer with the Blind forest. For the sequel they instead wanted to do a great metroidvania. They had the experience of the first game. They knew what was lacking and what was missing. They knew what the fanbase thought of the first game. They knew the fighting wasnt great in Blind forest. They knew they didn't have proper bosses. They looked at several other metroidvanias and borrowed or stole ideas from them. Including bosses wasn't something they took specifically from HK.
@N_Tertainment7 Also, I agree on the bosses. The game would benefit hugely by adding more bosses. A definitive addition like they did for Blind forest. They "stole" the shard system and another thing the should steal or be inspired by is the Colosseum of fools. There's lots of variety in how you can fight but you never really need to learn to master it.
I have a thing for a good score, so much so that despite never having played Ori and the will of the wisp, I've still listened through the entire 3 1/2 hr score at least three times now, and I've watched through the entire gameplay at least once. Love that score....
maybe I should play both games before comparing them but, I enjoy the ori games to bits. while I completely respect the hell out of the guys that made hollow knight, there is something about how readable moves are in the game. it's just really hard for me to tell what is happening in hollow knight. in ori it is very clear to me what moves are being done and when. both the player and the enemies need telegraphed with every strike and jump. I feel like it's not the game, but the way I take it in. I also really enjoy the spyro remasters for the same reason. it's really easy for me to understand everything that's happening
Exactly ! I tried HK. And couldn’t get pass the movement and didn’t understand shit. Ori is a 1000 times more fluent and open. Game is 10/10 . Best story , music , visuals , weapons. I didn’t agree with the weapons parts. Ori has better weapons and better visuals.
Ori deserves more points! Definitely for the art. I've never played the Hollow Knight but it just looks like a kid's colouring book next to Ori. Also the movements in HK seem really clunky compared to Ori's movements. It's such a joy to jump, swing and swim through the environment in Ori.
Good video, but there were some points that really baffled me. The "iconic" category was basically a popularity contest. HK is more popular, so more iconic, so it won. Huh. Also you said Ori had your favorite game soundtrack of all time but still gave a tie. And saying Ori copied boss fights and melee combat from Hk? What? That makes literally no sense. Dark souls has bosses and melee combat, does that mean Hk copied those? No, it doesn't. Same for Ori. Otherwise, great video. I personally think that they are both goddamn masterpieces and deserve all they praise they can get. Edit: one more thing. I think one of the reasons hollow knight's combat is so amazing has a lot to do with how well designed its bosses are around said combat. If Ori had better bosses, it's combat would feel way better as a result. I would still give Hk the win in combat over Ori, but I think Ori's combat is hurt by it's just ok bosses. What I'm trying to say is, combat and bosses are very tightly linked. Bad combat, then bad bosses. Bad bosses, then bad combat. It's very much a dependant relationship.
That's why the iconic category only counted towards half a point. I did also say Ori and the Will of the Wisps had my favorite soundtrack of all time, but I didn't give Ori the win in that category because it's impossible to make an objective argument based on my personal preference. The Melee combat being added to Ori and the Will of the Wisps is still relevant to the discussion because of how drastic it is compared to Ori and the Blind Forest. It seems like the game tried to inch closer to Hollow Knight's gameplay. That's why I mentioned it, and I don't regret mentioning it.
@@WyvrnOnYT It is true that it is impossible to objectively say one thing is better than another based on subjectivity, and ori and Hk's ost's are no exception. I think the reason it tickled me the wrong way was because the whole video is all about deciding whether one this is better than another using subjectivity. What makes the ost's different? Not saying there isn't a difference, I just genuinely want to know why this decision was made. As for the combat, there were a lot of complaints about Blind forest's combat being pretty bad (which are all warranted, it was bad) so I think revamping the combat was always a priority with the sequel. Mossbag makes the same point in his video. The bosses one could make a case for ori taking inspiration, but I still wouldn't say that their inclusion makes ori less original than Hk in that aspect. You can't confirm that Hk got its ideas from dark souls, so you can't really do it for Ori either. Try not to take this as me just bashing on your video, I'm only voicing the negatives I thought which I now realize isn't totally constructive. There were a lot of points I agreed with, and it was a really neatly put together video. I really do love your content, I just really like discussing video games on the internet. Peace bro ❤
@@spoop7623 Yeah. I noticed I should have cleared this up in the video, but: This video is my opinion, but I base my opinion on what I think is objectively correct. So in other words, I couldn't choose either soundtrack to be better than the other because I think they are both of the same quality. Ori's soundtrack is more of my "taste" which is why it's my favorite video game soundtrack of all time, but my opinion is that neither soundtrack is objectively better than the other. So basically, this video is my subjective opinion, but based on what I think is objective, and I couldn't find an objective argument for either soundtrack, so that's why I settled that segment with a tie. I understand this comes off as confusing, and I should have done a better job at breaking it down in the intro 😅
@@spoop7623 havent played Ori, but if the shard system mentioned works exactly like the notch/charm system in hollow knight i think they did actually copy that, which isnt a bad thing. Because while Swords and Bosses are in a billion other games, the only other game that has a similar system for upgrades as hollow knights charm system is Star Wars Jedi survivor, which came out just recently.
I don't normaly like comparaison because it always make one game look bad and the other good no matter how many times you say the "loser" was good too but this video is very well done it was very cool to watch
Since you just got into metroidvanias you my friend need to play an Igavania try either Castlevania Symphony of the Night or Bloodstained Ritual of the Night
I’m a huge Hollow Knight fan, but Ori is the most stunning game I’ve ever played. The visuals are mesmerising. The lore is not as complex as HK, but let me tell you this: both myself and my 8 year old daughter were in tears watching Ori’s end scene. Never felt that in a game.
Thanks. I've been on the fence about playing hollow knight because I didn't want to be disappointed. My experience with Ori was a 10/10 except my fingers were tired from the escape sequences. >: So this one may have encouraged me to try and play it.
I think some of these you gave a tie should have gone to ori but you like ori less so you gave them both a point. I think graphically ori has so much more going on than hollow night how you gave that a tie is beyond me.
Interesting and well thought-out video. This is a hard pick and for me it's impossible to choose because they have such a different feel to them. If I *have* to choose I'd say Ori while playing Ori and vice versa. My only critique is calling Ori a "he", but that's a whole other rabbit hole...
Ori: Platforming, Visuals, Soundtrack Hollow knight: Combat, Bosses, OG, Tie: Story So overall tie for me. But all of the minor comparisons, hollow knight. Having said that, I would rate Ori > Hollow knight. The ones which Ori does well, all of them combine together to give a very very good experience.
"Hollow Knight is memorable" Memorable?? Like Hell it's memorable!! Anytime I see a hollow knight picture, all I remember is pain. All i feel is pain and frustration. The fan base mentioning Hornet's name so fondly like she's a hero, she's family. That bug r*ped me I almost cried myself to sleep. She was my first boss. I remember wanting to run mad but realising that after i ran mad she still didn't go away. Every boss i had to face, i either ran away to grind like hell then return or cheese it through youtube. "Git gud" they said, what if me being good is not good enough. I feel like the kid who's behind everyone in class, youtuber's mentioning their answers to the exam like "2**-374" and my answer to the question was "Africa". I haven't yet completed the game. "Path of pain", it's like team cherry knew i was coming. I'm still navigating the white palace and you're telling me there's some masochistic dungeon at the other side of some ledge that gives no power ups after finishing it? I'm even more dissapointed in myself cuz i know i'm going to try it out. And then Absolute Radiance on godtuner LOL. I knew i wasn't going to beat that boss the moment i saw it in a UA-cam video. Y'all are really f*cked up in the community. I once saw a guy take on 5 Hollow knights at the Coloseum of fools. That guy should be jailed for pulling a stunt like that. I came from Dishonored very hard, didn't realise how much p*ssy candy i've been eating till now. I'll play game, hell yes i will. SiLksOnG this, sIlKsONg that. F u guys. Get lost in deepnest!
W video I think if we compare those game with those categories, Hollow Knight is better than Ori, but I think the Ori franchise is way better than Hollow knight. Hollow knight's franchise is a single game that got updates, Ori is divided in two games, so comparing a game with the whole verse to a game with half the verse isn't really a fair fight lol In my opinion, Ori is more artistic and into platformig and HK is more into combat and deep lore. So we can't really compare those two franchises.
I have played both games and they are the best games in the genre imo. Hollow knight has a godly fighting system with the nail and spells, but falls short on exploration and progress. Because you don't get significantly stronger in the game, your progress is kinda tied to your charms more than to your abilities. 9,5/10 in combat 6,5/10 in exploration. Cool game and silksong will be 10/10. Ori on the other hand, has by far the best open world platforming of any game period. It just rewards you for thinking like no other game. But it lacks a little bit combat wise. 5,5/10 in combat 9,5/10 in exploration
@@infinitypeaches3329 i mean come on. Charms are really 99% of progression in hollow knight. Try doing p5 charmless vs every other binding. No nail upgrade of spell upgrade comes close
@@MouhibBayounes the game is very replayable, exploration is very fun even if you know where to go and testing your skills on bosses at a ''lower level'' without any of the shade spells is also fun. you just can't get bored walking through the beauty that is greenpath, listening to its beautiful music, or sitting on the first city of tears bench next to quirrel, looking through the windows to a vast city with eternal rainfall while also listening to one of the best pieces in the entire game(and did I mention the soul sanctum organ is an absolute masterpiece?)
IMO Ori would win 7:1, I can't understand how one would rate both games equal in visuals and music. I've been stuck for weeks on single Ori songs several times, listening to them over and over and over and over. And the world is just BEYOND beautiful. Hollow Knight is well done, but does look rather close to an average metroidvania. But Hollow Knight has better boss fights and the overall map design so that you can take different routes is quite well thought out and interesting for replayability, I wish Ori had more of that because I'm playing mostly Ori and have nothing new left to do.
I disagree with the bosses and the combat, I also disagree with the originality part as well and music as well because Ori music is way better, I also disagree with art, Ori is way more iconic, Ori map is better. Overall Ori is better.
@@MatteoTagliabue-q2r actually that's your opinion, ori is more iconic as you get to know more about ori and care for him. In hollow knight You don't get to know much about the character you are playing as and don't get any connection to him. He's just this character shrouded in mystery that makes him forgettable.
I started playing Ori today, and I already love it. But the bosses, Jesus Christ do they have way too much health, I died to the first boss twice, and Howl only needs to be only cut down to half health. The main combat, it's alright, and the best part of the magic is how the healing heals for 3 relatively quick whereas Hollow Knight's takes more time. The Platforming is wonderful, but I got stuck on a part with a pink/purple breakable wall right before the third area in the game, I have no idea how to break it.
Buddy, if you think the soundtracks of HK and WotW are even remotely comparable, you need to get your ears checked. There's nothing wrong with HK's music, it's pretty decent an enjoyable, but WotW's music is on a whole other level; an orchestral masterpiece that stands on its own. There's just no comparison. It's so good, I would give it at least 2 points for this comparison. Also hard disagree on the art style. Again, nothing wrong with HK's, but Ori's is just so much more *right*. It's just so achingly, painstakingly beautiful. The color pallet and use of painting by light is world class. I put these games on equal footing, just for different reasons.
I disagree with you on both of your reasonings because I believe they're subjective rather than objective, but I don't think the added insult was required :/
Nope. Ori 2's soundtrack is honestly shockingly bland overall, even if there are few good songs here and there. Pretty instruments don't matter if you don't have a good melody.
Played both. Liked both Ori games, but LOVED Hollow Knight. In fact, I also even prefer Blind Forest to WIll of the Wisps - the artistic and gameplay vision seems tighter to me, which is something that I always appreciate in a game. WotW often felt a bit of a messy game to me - trying out lots of new ideas in a competent way, but not necessarily feeling as 'special' in the execution.
I like both games, started playing hollow knight few weeks ago and i gotta say that its hard, all that back tracking really pisses me off but thats probably my skill issue and im not gonna give up till i beat the game in the other hand ori is my favourite game as it brings back a lot of good memories from few years ago and its a good game.I gotta admit that yes hollow knight seem superior it comes down to your personal preference; if you like a dark game with incredible lore and epic fights go for hollow knight, if you want an emotional story with a vibrant atmosphere go for ori (also sorry for my bad english)

I prefer HK's, but I was confused by this too. I thought, for sure, he'd give it to Ori based on what he said about it
same with visuals. he said ori looks better and ends up giving both a point like wtf???

Ori's ending and Hollow knight's ending feel really similar (I'm not saying it is copied). With both Ori and the Knight sacrificing themselves to save the forest/hollow nest. Though I guess Ori will be reborn while the knight is completely destroyed

Also, it has multiple endings and parts like the hall of gods, where you can just replay every boss.
holy crap I was litterally thinking the same thing
I prefer there only being one ending because I always get the worst ending on multiple ending games, and I don’t usually replay games especially with there being the risk that I do it wrong and get the same ending, unless I use yt tutorials which is just long
You can actually replay every boss I'm ori too, the fight against the spider was one of them. I believe you can also do every running passage again but I'm not sure about that

Love both games but Ori's art and graphics takes the cake, idk how anyone could say it's not the better game, it just puts it over the top
I just found Hollow Knight to be more tightly designed, more “wow” moments in exploration, and great bossfights
Ori is easy and short, i played it beat it and moved on in 2 days. hollow knight took me weeks and was far more memorable
gotta be honest, it kinda sucks that you didn't point out that everything in hollow knight was hand drawn and hand animated by one dude. ori has great visuals yeah but hollow knight's visuals are incredibly impressive for a 3 person team
impressiveness and quality are 2 different things. while a single person creating a 98/100 is more impressive then team of 100 creating a 99/100 it still means that the team of 100 created the better product
Who cares. Ori visuals are in a league of its own and better by miles than Hollow Knight.
Hollow knight looks good, but Ori is the Highest form of art.
Lol not really@@20puskinas1992
Then again, both are hand drawn.
Wyvrn, you're making UA-cam a better place
OK hear me out, for me it's: Ori : 8
hollow knight : 5
here's why:
hollow knight :
1: more bosses, 2: more exploration, 3: more interesting lore, 4: more interesting npcs, 5: more iconic
ori and the will of the wisps :
1: better platforming, 2: more fun traversal, 3: better soundtrack, 4: better story, 5: way better pacing it's not even close, not a single second in ori feels boring or drags at all you get 5 abilities in the first hour of the game, on the other hand you spend most of the early and mid game in hollow knight just walking slowly, 6: better abilities, 7: and believe it or not more original, as far as i know ori invented the bashing ability which is one of the most unique and fun mechanic in gaming, 8: and better combat, take out the bosses from hollow knight and the combat becomes boring real quick, i had fun fighting enemies in ori way more than hollow knight which is just press attack button front or jump and attack bellow and sometimes use spell
also quick note, saying that ori copied hollow knight by adding bosses or a sword is silly, the sword was in development before hollow knight came out, there are footage to back it up, adding bosses after a sword is natural, however the shard system and the map seller while hollow knight didn't invent them it's obvious moon studio wouldn't have implemented it if it wasn't for hollow knight

@@formxrthat's the minimum amount of time required to get the first ending. Can't really judge a game unless you've gone through most of it. I know it sounds crazy, but the greatness of this game relies upon its rich lore and content.
@@usibistroand you played 50 Hours of Ori ?🤨
Hollow Knight is one the best games ever made. I love the way the player has to discover the story rather than being told everything. You gradually uncover more and more pieces and it just keep getting deeper and deeper until you finally reach the true end boss and it’s just a mind blowing experience when it all finally comes together. Ori is a great game as well, but you pretty much know the story by time the opening of the game is finished.
Calling it a tie on visuals/graphics is where your Hollow Knight bias really started to show. Great video all the same
I thank you for the kind words, but I also disagree.
@@MatteoTagliabue-q2rlore and story are very very different things lmao
I love the combat in Ori.
Ori combat might not be as technically nuanced, though it feels incredibly satisfyingly and impactful, especially in conjunction with the soundtrack, visuals and animation.
The spider boss is just amazing.
@@MatteoTagliabue-q2r I couldn’t have worded it better myself. 🍺🗿
I even have ori and the will of the wisps as my wallpaper on my computer for school
My differing opinions:
I think visuals is a pretty clear ori win.
Ori WotW is my favorite game of all time, but both games are great
Ive had a switch lite from launch but now i want to play on a bigger screen should i wait for switch 2 or just go for an oled
I’ve only played Blind Forest and some of Will of the Wisps so I can’t exactly compare them to HK myself, but considering that they’re some of my favourite games ever I’d be willing to try HK at some point if it’s that good (although I don’t think the visuals in HK could EVER compare to Ori in my eyes just cause I absolutely love the aesthetic of nature in general and Ori does it so well)
At least you won't mistake a spike for bacckground lmao
Bro I played the will of the wisp and blind forest several times, and I have to admit, I really missed the story and talent tree and stuff from the first one in the second. I genuinely think ori 1 is underrated, everybody is talking about 2 but like the story of 1? The soundtrack? Both is (in my opinion) more emotional than in 2, there aren't any bossfights, that's right, but you really don't miss them in 1, and everything is handdrawn. If you asked me which one I would pick and retry from the start, I would always go with one. 😊
Both stories sucked, but I mean, yeah. Good if you enjoyed it@@phl_2504
I seriously don't see how Ori didn't win at the soundrack and visuals, this video was too biased towards hollow knight
2019 i bought the Sequel and got the Blind Forest definitive edition as well but i couldn’t play it at the time i only got to for a few mins
Fast forward to 2023 I finally got to play it and continued where i left off, I Absolutely LOVED the Game, from start to finish everything else was super enjoyable and it became my most favorite game of all time ever, still is now after 6-7 months or so that i kept playing it again after i finished it, i played the Original as well “Blind Forest” it was good, but damn the Sequel really made the game 10x Better.
I played the game again which i bought from Steam a Week From now, around 16 hours of playing it and about to fight the Hollow Knight after finishing a lot of the Quests and sides first, the game was a lot more enjoyable honestly, i still did some wiki on things that i forgot just to avoid a lot of downtime, and i also did some Modding with the game before i booted it up the 1st time on Steam
With all of this Said Ori & TWOTW is still my Most favorite game of All time, the Combat is arguably not as good as Hk but damn its a lot more Satisfying for me, the Platforming is so damn good as well, The music… oh my god the Music is just THE BEST, the story was ok Oh and Progressing through the game Feels smooth as Butter and anything you do either it being sidequests collecting it all contributes to progressing and it never ever feels boring or Tedious AT ALL, and Finally the real reason why its my most Favorite of all Time its because of “Ori”, i cant stop obsessing about this Cute fella.
You forgot: “which games development is more impressive?”
Ori: multimillion dollar major studio massive team release with decades of experience between them
Hollow knight: handful of guys doing their first real video game in their lives funded by kickstarter for under $60k
Hollow knight wins as the better game for this reason alone.
Ori was 15 dollars at launch and the development doesn't matter, the end product does. Both are masterpieces in their own ways.
He's there to tell you which is better, not the most work
I love "Ori and the Will of the Wisps"!
Kepp going!
11:35, hollow knight is not close to dark souls, it’s only called 2D dark souls because of the lore and dystopian world
9:55 The change was smooth!
In Ori, when i realised i could stay in the air by jumping, then attacking, jumping again, i was blown away. Calming, visual.
I actually prefer Ori's bosses. Partially because you can style on them and you have way more options to switch it up
You mean cheese them?
Shriek is like the only good boss in my opinion due to the setting.

i think i'll give Ori a chance , but since i don't have a GPU right now running on my i5 9400 integrated graphics , i'm afraid i'll have performance issues,
Also is Ori playable on Keyboard only ? i also don't have a controller right now , i played Hollow knight on Keyboard and it was fine btw
Hollow Knight is so popular that people think that Dracula from Castlevania stole movesets from Grimm lol

I never went all the way through hollow knight I lost interest maybe around 3-4 hrs but ori and the will of the wisps was the first Metroidavania I ever played I played it when I was 9~ but to this day is one of or my most favorite game I have ever played
Edit: every time I hear the song at the end of your videos I cry
Exploring the world and discovering the lore of Hollow Knight was the most cathartic experience I ever had in a video game. The only game that came close for me is Shadow of the Collossus. The sound track in that game rivals Ori in my opinion. If you read this comment than go check out Shadow of the Collossus.
Well, to be fair, in ori you can take a screenshot at basically any point and frame it
So I think the only reason Hollow Knight fanboy hate Ori the second game is those spirit shards' UI and themself.
I finished ori and the will of the wisps long ago but I will beat hollow knight and come back to this video
Thank you for making this video, it awakened me to understanding how good is mora the spider’s theme?
Oops i made a question mark
Never accused this game of taking something from hollow knight. I addressed rumors and disputed them. I never said I believed this.
@@WyvrnOnYT I said suspected not accused. Why even bother to say something if you don't believe it?
@@johanandersson8646 you could simply just address it, can you not?. Also I think Ori needs more bosses.
@@N_Tertainment7 Yeah sure but why if it's stupid?
@@smokeyb321 In my opinion, its the complete opposite. But, Ori is good too. I haven’t tried it, only Blind Forest.
@@smokeyb321 the movement is literally just walk, jump, forward slash, upward slash, downward slash/pogo and spells. how do you not understand that
Good Video 👍🏻
Ori deserves more points! Definitely for the art. I've never played the Hollow Knight but it just looks like a kid's colouring book next to Ori. Also the movements in HK seem really clunky compared to Ori's movements. It's such a joy to jump, swing and swim through the environment in Ori.
Wyvrn, This is great! Let's be friends and have fun together!
Hollow Knight is overall a better game, but Ori is excellent.
I noticed I should have cleared this up in the video, but:
This video is my opinion, but I base my opinion on what I think is objectively correct.
I understand this comes off as confusing, and I should have done a better job at breaking it down in the intro
😅
@@spoop7623 havent played Ori, but if the shard system mentioned works exactly like the notch/charm system in hollow knight i think they did actually copy that, which isnt a bad thing. Because while Swords and Bosses are in a billion other games, the only other game that has a similar system for upgrades as hollow knights charm system is Star Wars Jedi survivor, which came out just recently.
I don't normaly like comparaison because it always make one game look bad and the other good no matter how many times you say the "loser" was good too but this video is very well done it was very cool to watch
You should have been talking about exploration more. It is what made Hollow Knight so incredible.
Never felt that in a game.
imo both Ori games have VERY polished music, visual & story & just has that perfect vibe to it yk
The first Ori was good but also very frustrating
The second one, omg so far I am in love, I think it's really amazing

Ori: Platforming, Visuals, Soundtrack
Hollow knight: Combat, Bosses, OG,
Tie: Story
So overall tie for me.
I think if we compare those game with those categories, Hollow Knight is better than Ori, but I think the Ori franchise is way better than Hollow knight. Hollow knight's franchise is a single game that got updates, Ori is divided in two games, so comparing a game with the whole verse to a game with half the verse isn't really a fair fight lol
In my opinion, Ori is more artistic and into platformig and HK is more into combat and deep lore.
9,5/10 in combat
6,5/10 in exploration. Cool game and silksong will be 10/10.
Ori on the other hand, has by far the best open world platforming of any game period. It just rewards you for thinking like no other game. But it lacks a little bit combat wise.
5,5/10 in combat
9,5/10 in exploration
you do get stronger, you get more powerful versions of the main spells and you can upgrade your nail as well as your health
@@infinitypeaches3329 i mean come on. Charms are really 99% of progression in hollow knight. Try doing p5 charmless vs every other binding. No nail upgrade of spell upgrade comes close

Hey brother - thanks for the video - Question. Did this channel become a career for you?
Me who have ori and hk: i dont care
3:17 what about Zelda 2
Which one is harder and more challenging game between the two?
Hollow Knight is lot harder, although Ori has some challenges too.
I thanks to God for be able to play and enjoy both of this masterpieces
I disagree with the bosses and the combat, I also disagree with the originality part as well and music as well because Ori music is way better, I also disagree with art, Ori is way more iconic, Ori map is better. Overall Ori is better.
That's why it's considered subjective
How is ori more iconic and has a better map? Hollow knight is a clear winner for both categories
@@MatteoTagliabue-q2r actually that's your opinion, ori is more iconic as you get to know more about ori and care for him. In hollow knight You don't get to know much about the character you are playing as and don't get any connection to him. He's just this character shrouded in mystery that makes him forgettable.
@@MatteoTagliabue-q2r also I just like ori map better.
The Platforming is wonderful, but I got stuck on a part with a pink/purple breakable wall right before the third area in the game, I have no idea how to break it.
skill issue
@@WyvrnOnYT: wasn't meant as insult, just a casual jest
@@WyvrnOnYThe's right tho
Nope. Ori 2's soundtrack is honestly shockingly bland overall, even if there are few good songs here and there. Pretty instruments don't matter if you don't have a good melody.
@@legrandliseurtri7495 WRONG 📣
Played both. Liked both Ori games, but LOVED Hollow Knight. In fact, I also even prefer Blind Forest to WIll of the Wisps - the artistic and gameplay vision seems tighter to me, which is something that I always appreciate in a game. WotW often felt a bit of a messy game to me - trying out lots of new ideas in a competent way, but not necessarily feeling as 'special' in the execution.
If you like soundstracks you need to try something like elden ring or maybe bloodborne. Those soundtracks are fire.
Hollow knight path of pain platforming is something else 💀
Not only that silk song is coming out After hollowKnight soon I don’t know when but there might be a new game of moon Studios
