Hi Fuschia! You are welcome and thank you for watching. All of these headphones would be perfect for singing and voice over work. Now the difference is quality. Hi Archie new subscriber here! I watch your other vids they are helpful 😊 i just wanna ask what headphones can you recommend to me for recording vocals?
Have you ever tried the audio Technica ath-m70x? I recently bought a pair and am absolutely in love with them. They sound incredible, I also own a pair of 80ohm dt770’s which I also love
Thankyou i appreciate this video these beyerdynamic 250 seem best for me for vocals ect. Not sure if will need a amp for them but if so can you suggest one?
Hi Archie! How are you? Thanks for the video! Just a few question, the hd280 are durable? the ones you have now, could you tell me where are they made? thank you!
I'm not sure if I should get the dt770s or the dt990s 250 ohms, Which one would be the better option for mixing? Or does it just come down to personal taste since they're both great?
The DT990s are open-back which tends to be used more for mixing and mastering as the audio doesn't get muffled (stuck in the cups) as it would in closed back (the DT770s). So I'd suggest DT990s for that particular case. They somewhat give the sound more space to 'travel' like it would when you'd listen to the music in an open-space.
A closed-back could influence the way you hear the sound, thus may fuck up how you perceive your mix. Though let me also add that usually monitors are preferred to be used for mixing. I myself usually use both monitors and headphones for mixing and mastering. But yeah, in the end go with your guts and good luck!
The 770's and the 990's use the same sound interface, but the 990's are open headphones. The low-end frequencies do escape a little through the backside of the 990's. If you want to record audio, then the 770's are better because they're closed and the audio won't bleed. I have personally used the 880's for 3 years, and they give a really balanced mix (great for long mixing sessions). But I bought the 990's later on to get a better hearing on the high-end (does the job)! I still want to buy the 770's just for recording audio.. Now Im using other closed headphones for recording.
sorry im late but which one is the best for someone who is just starting out in making beats. I do have the the money for expensive ones but If their is any cheaper ones I rather have those
I just compared the HD 280 Pro and the DT 770 Pro, and they are indeed both great headphones, but with a very different sound: The HD 280 Pro is very analytical, more focused on the mids with a lot of detail there. The DT 770 Pro sounds much more full-range, with more emphasis on the lows and highs. I like the ruggedness and repairability on both, but the comfort and sound profile of the DT 770 Pro wins me over for sure! Price difference in Germany is not that big: 90€ for the HD 280 Pro, 140€ for the DT 770 Pro. So I kept the Beyerdynamic.

Hey dude thanks for the great video. Maybe you could advise. I’m trying to obviously find a good pair without breaking the bank and that will allow me to really hear the adjustments I make on eq while playing directly from the daw. It’s a drag having to jump in my car each time to listen lol. I know it’s inevitable and good practice. I was leaning toward akg 240 or the Sony. I think open back would be best right? Any advice for synth wave music,? Thanks dude.
Great video. I'm looking at getting the 770 pros. Jw, my mother board on my computer says it supports up to 600Ohm. So I wouldn't need a amp if that is true. But if all these motherboards have sound amp built in then why would so many pc gamers have amps?
I’m surprised Sen.HD280 made it on the list despite being the cheapest. I always curious what they sound like, maybe I’ll give it a try. I’m coming from an ATH M50.
Can you make like the best closed and best open back headphones list ? Cause the 770s might be good for mixing but will it be as good as the 990s ? (Cause they're open back). All said and done I loved this video as well.

Hows the sound for audio monitoring?
I'm back at ya Archie....got to find some reference studio headphones. I purchase the Blue Bird SL for 129.00 and the HS8's for 456.00 plus tax on the holiday season sales.
Can’t believe the DT770 are over $200 now
They became in demand smh
wow no audio technica which are in most studios thanks for the vids
Hey dude thanks for the great video. Maybe you could advise. I’m trying to obviously find a good pair without breaking the bank and that will allow me to really hear the adjustments I make on eq while playing directly from the daw. It’s a drag having to jump in my car each time to listen lol. I know it’s inevitable and good practice. I was leaning toward akg 240 or the Sony. I think open back would be best right? Any advice for synth wave music,? Thanks dude.
Hey @archiebeats, whats the name of your video editng application. I like the effects in your videos. Please share.
I’ve had mine for 6 years. I hate them.
@@ryanj8526 you hate them yet, you've kept them for 6 years. 🤣🤣
ATHM40 and 50 tend to boost bass a bit too much, though they sound great.
Does it makes difference between these and audeze lcd 1? I need to monitor vocals on film. Which should I get?
I went with the 880s over the 770s have you tried those out?
Can these headphones be used to listen to everyday music on the go??
Was up sir can you tell me about a pair of head phone I got they are SONY DR-Z5 THANK YOU
Can you make like the best closed and best open back headphones list ? Cause the 770s might be good for mixing but will it be as good as the 990s ? (Cause they're open back). All said and done I loved this video as well.
I just dropped a video with my top closed and open back explaining the difference. Be sure to watch. Thank you so much.
@@archiebeatz exactly what i was looking for!!! Thank you 🙏
@@archiebeatz what are your top 3 picks under the open back category ?
