  • This foundation has been a cult classic in the online beauty community for forever now BUT I had yet to try it! It didn't sound like something that would work on my oily skin but since I've never heard a bad word about it I wanted to finally put it to the test... (,Ծ_Ծ,)

    I really don’t think this girl is as oily as she thinks she is. I keep seeing dry patches everytime even with a “luminous” foundation. She’s actually really dehydrated that her skin is producing extra oil to hydrate itself. She never mentions using moisturizer she always just starts with a primer. She’s too obsessed with thinking she’s “oily” she just needs a good moisturizer and a better primer.

    • @whitney5621

      MiX3DViX3N YES!!! I used to always think I had super oily skin so I never used a moisturizer under makeup...but as I've gotten older I never skip moisturizer and my skin is so much happier and healthier! Makeup looks better too 😊

    I think you need to fix/change your rating system. Things like shade range and worth the price shouldn’t factor so much into the actual overall performance. I think performance of a foundation is what most people look for when wanting to buy a foundation. Just a thought :)

      cnp53 agreed, and I am tired of hearing her harp on the shade range of every single foundation. If they had 2000 shades she would still complain. Yes a shade range can always be improved, at least they tried, good grief give it a rest.

      She truly needs to start wearing a primer that works with her skin. She asks for constructive comments yet only likes the ones where people kiss her ass in their comments. I wish she would take constructive criticism the way she says she does. A foundation will never look good, no matter how expensive it is, on her skin until she finds a primer that works with her skin

    Why bother doing a flash photo test if you don’t know if you look so pale due to the incorrect shade or due to flashback? Why bother doing the review altogether if the shade match is so off? I’m sorry but this is your job, it’s starting to come across as lazy with all of the super off foundation shades. Do you not swatch/get color matched in store? Why not buy a couple shades if not able to swatch? I say this as a long time viewer who is rooting for you to do better, not as a hateful comment!

      1vwilliams that may be true for YOU but you know that everyone has different skin, right? Go check out reviews on Sephora’s site- there are plenty saying they didn’t like how I looked on them either, myself included. I work in the industry and know how to apply makeup and am very well-versed in skincare, so it’s not about “technique” for everyone. What works for you will not work for everyone. I don’t know why that’s so misunderstood on UA-cam.

      Yes, she’s liked foundations. So many negative haters on this video, it’s kind of sad. It’s so bizarre that people would complain about her being honest no matter what about every product she tries- if you don’t like it, go watch one of the many beauty vloggers that say they love what they are paid to love. Why do so many people find it offensive when Cassie says she dislikes a product?

  • @lynette2669
    @lynette2669 6 років тому +88

    I'm so surprised because I love this foundation and I have oily areas and I wear glasses! Honestly, I kind of knew from the start that you wouldn't like this though and I may stop watching these reviews because you rarely seem to get a good shade match or use a compatible primer.
    Try switching out your primer and grab a better shade match, it really does make a world of difference! Sephora will give you any samples you want in store! Also, it might be helpful if you test out foundations more than 1 day. Try switching up your routine and see what works best with it.
    I think your subscribers are trying to help you but sometimes it comes off as not listening or you're only liking the "nice" comments. I think we all care and are just giving constructive criticism, not meaning to offend.
    Lastly, shade range is a very expensive part of production and companies determine what shades sell best for them. It's not always "PC" just business in their eyes.

      In this case the shade match was the closest with the shade range Armani offers. It's seem too light in comparison of her face cause she got redness but it matches her neck. Nothing will be exactly the same color as her skin. However she coup have prep her skin better, and try with different printed, setting spray, powder...

    I have a very oily skin, and I love this foundation. I didnt like it at first, but I guess it was because i didnt know how to use it. I use sponge with this one, and it gives the most beautiful, dewy, healthy skin without looking foundation-y. It covers most of my acne scars (from hormonal acne), so I can confidently say it gives medium coverage without being too heavy. I got oily after around 4 hours, but nothing that a tissue/blotting paper can't do. In fact, i like it better after a few hours wear.

      Nancy Mendoza a lot of people use way too much primer, so it does rub off a lot easier. Everything has to be in light layers and allow to set before going in with more product. People just cake crap on then wonder why nothing stays put. It is similar to painting your nails. You can just glop it on and think it’s be all good.

    Maybe a proper moisturing routine, with hyaluronic acids, ceramides and such would improve the performance of the foundations. Obviously I can't tell from youtube videos alone but I suspect your skin is merely dehydrated, not as oily as you claim. If not you wouln't have such persistant dry patches and yet an over production of sebum. Fix your skin barrier first and then maybe you might rediscover a foundation that's great for you

    @MsAnnette 6 років тому +9

    So much hate for picking a too light shade. Cassie has skin a shade like mine, sort of olive-y/yellow but fair/light. It's EXTREMELY hard to find a foundation shade because lighter shades don't lean olive. The only foundation I don't have to mix for my light olive-y skin is Estee Lauder Double Wear.
    She picks the right foundation shade, often a darker one will go/look orange on her unless she cuts it with the very light yellow shade and we can't expect her to always buy/get two to mix. So much disrespect and actual hate for a consistently cheerful, helpful, kind content creator who deserves none of it.
    (Just wanted to add, I don't consider having to mix shades a hardship, it just is. At least I have options, unlike many deeper skinned folks.)

      Let me guess, you watch all of the big name “beauty gurus” so you think you’re an expert on makeup application. Newsflash, those people don’t have a clue what they’re talking about because they’ve never worked in the industry a day in their lives and they sell what they’re paid to sell. You sound immensely arrogant

    This is a Great foundation for mature skin. I can understand how it might not work well for your skin type.

    This foundation showed up in with a Sephora order. It wasn't on my packing slip. Oily skin care so I knew I didn't want to waste it. I put in my donation box.

    This foundation sucked on my oily skin too. Nothing beats Estee Lauder Double Wear. No oil breakthrough which is a first for me.

    this is unforgiveable how this foundation ended up looking on your skin at night especially considering the fact that it's giorgio armani and not some no name stuff that you can easily get at walmart ...

      Amazing Lina she has a very bad canvas to apply it to... her skin is dehydrated and flakey. It’s overcompensating because of this and being more oily. So oily with dry flakes.

      Rae Badding's you act as though you have any clue what her skincare routine is and what her skin is doing on a microbio level...you don’t.

    I’m such a goth that I’m like oooh super pale foundation yay!
    Though I am super pale that the lightest shades are still too dark on me.

    Some of y’all commenting are so rude and need to be careful what you or merely how you word what you want to say, because it can slightly come off as bullying. Threatening to not watch her reviews, only telling her what she is doing wrong.(etc) It’s ok to have opinions but some of them can be kept to oneself. 🙄 Internet trolls

    Cassie can you plz swatch LA splash chubby twists for me?... the cappuccino one is really a shade to collect.... but I am concerned about their formula also don’t know whether it will be good for everyday use... can you plz find me a expensive dupe in it as I live in bangladesh and don’t have much options to find one... It will be better if you find any similar shade in bobby brown or tarte or mac any good lip products... love you a lot my dear.

    I'm a New Subbie (Vikinga Vantillana recommended you). Having read the comments it appears that you seen to have problems with foundation colour matches and primers and the grading system you use! Do you agree with your subbies?
    I can't comment on this but I'm hoping you will.
    Loved the energy and honesty tho. xxx
    PS: I hope I spelt her name correctly, mega apologies if I goofed. xxx 💕
