Oh crap I forgot about A Highland Song B Tier Nice to play a game that doesn't have combat or anything. Beautiful art style. Some systems aren't explained very well. I did not make it to Hamish's lighthouse before Beltane. Good game, but otherwise not very exceptional.
I played the first Ratchet & Clank around its release back then and agreed even then that the controls left something to be desired. Fortunately, the majority of the flaws of the first one were vastly improved with Going Commando and that's truly when the series started it's classic stride. Btw, the only way that I ended up beating the final boss for 1 was by grinding out the hoverboard races and saving enough money to be able to buy the RYNO. It was a breeze once I had it lol.
DQ4 NES (Dragon Warrior IV) was my first JRPG. Strong memories with that. Power of friendship the game. I think AI controlled party characters was good, in the sense that it showed off how each party member reacted. Alena was super aggressive, Nara/Mara were magic focused, Taloon would do anything out of thin air (call backup merchants to beat up enemies, use non-equipped items etc)
Hey ChrisTheFields! Loved the tier list. Just wanted to comment that Persona 5 Tactica that recently came out also had a full party experience gain system! And I also thought that was super neat and hadn't seen it before that game.
The part of the urban legend that's a myth is that the Japanese government stepped in to create legislation forbidding Dragon Quest from being released on any other day but weekend. It was still true that mostly students were skipping school just to play it.

Seeing HiFi Rush, Sea of Stars, and Ghost Trick get so much love made me smile super hard :)
Completely agree with your reasoning on Tears of the Kingdom.
Also glad you liked Ghost Trick. That game is a masterpiece.
Just found this channel, watching this, and next up is binging your retrospectives.

I played just a bit of Tactica recently since I got Gamepass for a month. I really liked what I played of it
Thing about DQIII and people skipping days is a myth.
Enix themselves decided to release futher DQ games only on weekends.
