  • When it comes to cleaning stainless steel, there are a few common problems that people often encounter. Here are three of them along with possible solutions:
Heat Tint: Heat tint refers to the discoloration or rainbow-like stains that appear on the surface of stainless steel cookware or appliances after exposure to high heat. To remove heat tint, you can try using a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner or a mixture of vinegar and water. Gently scrub the affected area with a soft cloth or sponge in the direction of the grain. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean cloth.
White Spots: White spots can occur on stainless steel surfaces due to mineral deposits or hard water stains. To remove these spots, you can create a paste by mixing baking soda and water. Apply the paste to the affected area and gently rub in a circular motion using a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse well and dry with a clean cloth to restore the shine of the stainless steel.
Burnt Pan: Burnt food stuck to the bottom of a stainless steel pan can be challenging to remove. Begin by filling the pan with warm water and adding a few tablespoons of baking soda. Let it sit for a few hours or overnight to loosen the burnt residue. Then, use a non-abrasive scrub brush or sponge to scrub the pan, focusing on the burnt areas. If needed, you can also use a mixture of equal parts vinegar and water to help remove stubborn stains. Rinse the pan thoroughly and dry it completely.
Remember to always follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning stainless steel products and test any cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous area before applying it to the entire surface.
Certainly! Here's how alternatively you can clean each of the individual problems you mentioned:
    Heat Tint:
Moisten a soft cloth with white vinegar or lemon juice.
Gently rub the heat-tinted area in the direction of the grain.
Rinse the surface thoroughly with water and dry it with a clean cloth.
For stubborn heat tint, you can try using a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner according to the manufacturer's instructions.
    White Spots:
Create a paste by mixing equal parts baking soda and water.
Apply the paste to the white spots on the stainless steel surface.
Gently scrub the area in a circular motion using a soft cloth or sponge.
Rinse the surface thoroughly with water and dry it with a clean cloth.
If the white spots persist, you can try using a stainless steel cleaner or a mixture of vinegar and water.
    Burnt Pan:
Fill the burnt pan with warm water and add a few tablespoons of baking soda.
Let it sit for a few hours or overnight to loosen the burnt residue.
Use a non-abrasive scrub brush or sponge to scrub the pan, focusing on the burnt areas.
If needed, create a mixture of equal parts vinegar and water and apply it to the stubborn stains.
Rinse the pan thoroughly with water and dry it completely.
Remember to always handle stainless steel with care and use non-abrasive cleaning tools to avoid scratching the surface. If you're uncertain about any specific cleaning method, refer to the manufacturer's guidelines or consult a professional for further assistance.

Scratches will develop right from the first time you keep the pan or pot on gas stove. Doesn't matter which Brand. After a while you won't even look at them, so they won't bother u as scratches & pits will develop on the inside too if u use metal spoon

How much weight of your fry pan? According to Meyer official site, weight of select fry pan is less than centennial fry pan in 26 diameter but I doubt that it is true.

      Hello,
I hope you are doing fine.
We would like to inform you that sometimes the presence of undissolved salt in a pan, mixed either with cold water or left after boil drying, can cause corrosion or pitting in a pan. Thereby, it is recommended that you add salt only after the water has reached its boiling point. Having said that, you can use the following steps to clean:
Pour vinegar enough to cover the bottom of the cookware.
Wait for a couple of minutes, rub the affected area with a soft sponge and rinse it thoroughly.
Wipe with a dry cloth/tissue/paper towel.
      Regards

@@PotsandPansIndia Thank you for the detailed answer. It is indeed as you have written - black spots developed after adding salt in cold water.
My cleaning maid got the spots out by first sprinkling baking soda on spots and then putting some dish wash liquid over it and scrubbing it off.

      Hello,
I hope you are doing fine.
We would like to inform you that since stainless steel cookware is uncoated on both the inside and the outside, cleaning from both sides should be done using the same technique. We hope this helps!
      Regards
