That is correct. You can close that hole off from the inside usinng weather striping. We have plans to create a plug that fills everything in from the outside sometime in the future. That will likely be around 35 extra dollars and I haven't had the time to research how many of these bike owners will actually be willing to pay that in addition to the rest of the cost of the fender eliminator package.
That is a Husky Rotator Ratchet. Not sure if Husky still makes them but similar brands like Kobalt, Stanley, and Kraftsmen may offer the same style tool.
Joe, we are in the process of hiring some new guys here that will be pumping out more of these instruction sheets. We will be working towards getting a video for every kit we sell. For now I can help you if you contact us through our website support email.
Awesome product.... When I originally got my unit in one of the lights were not working and TST wasted no time in replacing it. I like the look of the eliminator on my bike and yes there is a slight hole where the old fender was sitting, but its not a issue seeming how there are literally other holes throughout the bike that are bigger. I had to bend my plate back just to ensure that it doesn't rub on the tire but other than that I'm please with the product.
is it possible to have the plate tucked under the tail a little farther back more like it is on that 2nd bike to the right at the end of the video with the integrated tail light for a ninja 650?
I have one question what to you do with the large hole that remains open where the OEM mount was? After a drive in the rain a whole bunch of rain would get in that hole and cause some serious electrical problem under your seat where the fuse box is. This mod looks great but I see major issues down the road.
We have been selling this kit for a number of years now and nobody that has bought it has reported any issues with water getting into electrical parts. All harness components, fuse boxes, relays, etc. are insulated and weatherproofed so a little splash here and there won't harm anything. There are many other gaps in the bodywork/seat/frame assembly where water is free to enter. The hole left behind by the fender is not the only way for water to get in. This kit was developed to be very inexpensive and easy to install. We have kits for other bikes that use an Undertail Closeout in that location but we did not make one for the 650 because the market demand is just not very big.
why dont you just sell the kit with everything included? i noticed you kept saying you can aslo buy this and that why not just make it all one package... yoshimura does also sell it with the led resistors so your lights dont blink fast.. i wil for sure be buying the yoshi kit, seems better quality and can use the oem turn lights.
Not everyone who purchases this fender eliminator wants all of those available options. Also, for almost half of the price of the Yoshi Fender Eliminator one you can purchase our entire kits which would include: Fender Eliminator, Signals, Converters, License Plate Light, and LED Resistors. Kawasaki Knight
i just bought an 07 zx6r and the previous owner has a fender eliminator kit but the way he has it set up is that he bolted the license plate in to the plastic of the bike under the muffler close to the rear suspension (shock) so my question is is there something that i can buy thats not expensive and bolt it on there and then the plate on that so i dont have to bend the top part of the plate? something that looks like the most fender kits part where you bolt on to the bike but not the full system.?
ebubekir binici Yes we do offer a Fender Eliminator that will work for your setup. You can click the link below to be taken to the product page on our website: tstindustries.com/Fender-Eliminator-License-Plate-Bracket-0708ZXFE.html
thank god i ordered that :) and also what do you recommend i do about my height problem, im 5'3 and can barely tippy toe the zx6r , should i get it lowered , shave off the seat , get a custom seat or just deal with it ?
ebubekir binici If you are going to lower it make sure that you go to a reputable suspension tuner so that they can lower the bike without adversely affecting the geometry of the machine. An improper geometry setup will affect the agility, braking, safety, etc. If you let me know where you live maybe I can recommend someone local to you.
ebubekir binici Unfortunately your area is one where I do not know of a reputable shop that does suspensions. You can go on wera.com and go into the forums and ask the guys there. That forum is for racers mainly and someone will know a shop that is local to you that does quality suspension work.
We do not have that bike in our market so it is tough to know for sure. I remember selling one to a person in Europe with that bike back in 2014 and they had the same concerns. They never got back to us with complaints or otherwise.
Hello I Just Barely Bought My Bike ( Kawasaki Ninja 2015 636 ) And I Was Wondering If is possible to Adapt The Original Signal Lights ? Great Video BTW !
I am sure it can be done. Those Kawi signals come apart from the rubber boot and have a screw there that can be mounted to an L-bracket on the bike or license plate setup.
TSTindustries Fair enough, Thanks for the response I may have to rig something up myself! But i've just found you guys I will have to give your website a look.
Maybe if you take off your fender and submit some photos of the area and bolt pattern we could match you up with a solution. We haven't had the chance to have that bike in the shop and that is why we don't have anything specifically for it. You can submit photos through the support tab on our website
Not sure if I'll get a response any time soon but I recently bought the eliminator kit and after riding to the mall with my girl on the back seat, we noticed that the licence plate had been bent from hitting the rear tire (she's only 105 pounds lol) is their any way to prevent this from happening?
+SnoopySalvi That shouldn't happen. Let's get you in touch with our support staff and figure it out. Please go to the Support Center tab on our website and shoot us a message. You can reference this conversation. Someone will get back to you during business hours and we will look into your case.
PLEASE HELP. I ordered a yoshimura finder eliminator from the the motorcycle superstore that in the picture had turn signals. Got it today and it has no turn signals apparently. Fuck me right? So I found some signals im gonna buy but I need to get the angled brackets as well. What size do the brackets need to be? I can't find anything close to what those look like online and I don't want to spend money on something that's gonna have the wrong size holes.
Alec Medley We actually only sell the kits we manufacture. Perhaps one of our Pod Signal Kits would work for your setup. It includes the turn signals and the brackets. The brackets use your license plate hardware to fasten to the back of your license plate bracket along with your tag in the front. The signals fasten to the signal brackets, and the harness converters make for a plug and play connection on a Kawasaki. If you would like more info please see: tstindustries.com/LED-Rear-Pod-Signal-Kit-Universal.html
+TSTindustries Hi ! Isn't the license plate illumination mandatory ? I've see other kits with and without the actual white license light and I am confused ....
The bracket is robust enough to withstand whatever the wind force is in that area of the bike. Take a look at aerodynamics diagrams of a motorcycle and pay attention to what happens between the tail of the bike and the rear wheel.
TSTindustries ok its not the wind that bends it that was a dumb thought it actually bends from hitting license plate hitting the rear tire, ive actually had to bend it inward towards the center of the bike but my license is barely visible I can send pictures for suggestions but it still looks better than Kawasaki’s tail lol
TSTindustries thanks for the reaction. I did a little research and also found out these are OEM. Difference is, I think, that in Europe they come with these grabbing bars. Will search for the OEM showing in your video.
We do not plan on making one of our undertail closeouts for this bike, so unless you come up with something to block out the hole, it will always be there.
I noticed you didn't use resistors when installing the LED turn signals. I know that there are some contraversial theories on whether you need to install resistors or not. I'm assuming you don't believe they are necessary?
Dan Fox Most of our installations focus only on one part kit. We do flash control installations separately. Resistors are not really the best choice for flash control because of the need to wire them in, and then have cumbersome heating elements floating. Instead of resistors we recommend an LED Flasher relay that is a plug and play replacement for the OEM unit and allows for adjustability of the flash rate. You can see the installation video of that part here: ua-cam.com/video/YazlWpndxY0/v-deo.html
Water gets into all parts of the bike regardless of whether your fender is on or not if you ride in the rain. None of the compartments are sealed off. This is why manufacturers prepare their wiring harnesses to experience moisture. We have been selling this kit since 2012 and nobody has had problems yet. At a price point of 24.99 you get a basic kit. A kit with a closeout for the fender hole would be much more expensive. For those that want a practical and inexpensive kit this is the way to go. If you want something beyond the basic kit and are willing to spend the money I am sure you will be able to find it on the market.
Robert Irons 5* if you want yo shit to blink right...damn it man i thought i had actually stumbled across a solution to the retarded expensive big name brand options
Robert Irons Not everyone needs all the components so we provide an array of options so that people who don't need certain parts don't have to pay for them. None of the "expensive big name brand options" come with an LED flasher relay, and most of them reuse your stock signals so your comparison is unfair. If you compare apples to apples our products provide a better value.
fair enough, i guess that makes sense.. just seems like an ass raping of a profit margin. It's funny, somehow i at times forget that's just the way the world works these days. in terms of lesser of the evils, I've managed to narrow it down to you guys and one other potential product on ebay. so, yea.
Robert Irons Did you consider the design time, tooling development, testing, time taken developing instructions, marketing, running a company, and paying employees in your "profit margin" assessment? What do you consider profit margin?
why consider all that when you already have. lets have some transparency shall we? what's your profit margin? Including all those things you listed, assuming someone bought the entire kit.
Got my kit yesterday and plan on following these steps. It was good that you had this video up since no instructions were included with my package.
@James Dennings The basic kit does not include any signal mounting hardware so your stock signals will have no way of being mounted to the assembly.
Got it installed in about an hour. Looks great! Ninja 2013 650
Awesome! I am glad you like it.
It looks like the replacement leaves a hole exposed for water/rocks/dirt/etc. to get in that the original didn't. Is that the case?
That is correct. You can close that hole off from the inside usinng weather striping. We have plans to create a plug that fills everything in from the outside sometime in the future. That will likely be around 35 extra dollars and I haven't had the time to research how many of these bike owners will actually be willing to pay that in addition to the rest of the cost of the fender eliminator package.
What model is that awesome wrench
That is a Husky Rotator Ratchet. Not sure if Husky still makes them but similar brands like Kobalt, Stanley, and Kraftsmen may offer the same style tool.
You should make a video on the splicing of the turn signal and license plate light I'm stumped cuz detections weren't included
Joe, we are in the process of hiring some new guys here that will be pumping out more of these instruction sheets. We will be working towards getting a video for every kit we sell. For now I can help you if you contact us through our website support email.
Will the stock signals work with the basic eliminator kit.
Awesome product.... When I originally got my unit in one of the lights were not working and TST wasted no time in replacing it. Very well said. Thank you for your input.
Does this work for the 2009 ninja Kawasaki 650 r?
will this work on my 2014 kawasaki Er6n model?!
If yes, I’m gonna order it from the site but I wanna make sure
is it possible to have the plate tucked under the tail a little farther back more like it is on that 2nd bike to the right at the end of the video with the integrated tail light for a ninja 650?
+Shane Little sorry but that is not possible with this particular kit

do you have one to work with a 2011?

Using that wrench is totally cheating! :P j/k. Great vid! Thank you!

Please reply! Does this work on the same generation ER6N? Assuming it does since it’s just the naked version.
We do not have that bike in our market so it is tough to know for sure. I remember selling one to a person in Europe with that bike back in 2014 and they had the same concerns. They never got back to us with complaints or otherwise.
TSTindustries okay. I should get away just fine then. Thanks for the response!
does this "plateholder" works for Swedish license plates?
Measurments: 170 x 150 mm
please let me know which of these measurements is height and which is width. Please also send me the on-center hole spacing on your license plate.

Jonathan Cohen At the moment we do not produce a part that closes that out.

How do you change the bulbs when they burn out
There are no bulbs in these signals. They use LEDs that will outlast your bike.
from where did you get the tail fairing?
That is an OEM tail fairing
TSTindustries thanks for the reaction. I did a little research and also found out these are OEM. Difference is, I think, that in Europe they come with these grabbing bars. Will search for the OEM showing in your video.
What's kit cost with relay and plate light ?
$90 with the relay, signals, plate light, and fender eliminator.
Greeeeaat how too video!
Is that legal in florida?
Yes, this Fender Eliminator with signals is 100% legal in the state of Florida.
is that hole in the trunk from removing the fender always gonna be there?
