    Joe Cole as a year 7 scored a hat trick in london cup schools final … we were all big year 9s… he was the best I’ve ever seen and my old man was 50 at the time and said the boy is truly special … we had a very strong team and we were absolutely torn apart by a yr 7 wow

    • @ryank3321
      @ryank3321 Рік тому +10

      @Bones Jones - He said very clearly that it was the London Schools Cup Final though, so the OPs own team must have had a lot of talented players to have reached that final, not some run of the mill Sunday league match. In London you've got crazy good youth sides like Senrab who have a better % of players going on to play pro than many academies.

    • @ryank3321
      @ryank3321 Рік тому +4

      @Bones Jones - You also get the kids who are bigger, stronger and faster than everybody else at 12 and 13 so just dominating on the youth pitches, and then get found out for not being anything special technically when everybody has caught them up physically by 15 or 16 though, not uncommon (albeit I suppose what I've just written is completely irrelevant to our little honorary Brazilian!)

      Out of Rio lampard Carrick and other young English players.. Joe cole for me at wast ham was the most technically gifted player.. he was a teenager small looked 13😂 but when he got the ball you got excited he was gliding by top class players men and making it look easy.. but the rest went on to playing everyweek at top team's.. Joe ended up falling out of favour at Chelsea didn't fit Jose mourinho style at that point.. if he had stayed at West ham they could have built a team around him .. and even after the injuries he went to France think it was nice .. but there fans loved him.. I think France or Germany or la Liga. Would have suited Joe's style.. give him the ball and let him do his thing 🤷 never happened.. and if Ange gets offered 100 million for Kane he will sell him.. crazy as it sounds he's not a Ange type striker.. he got rid of two strikers that were Harry Kane esk type strikers penalty box good finishers but Ange sold them.. if man unt offer spurs 100mill or abit less.. Ange will take that money and try use it to towards building his own team

Everything came easy to him, he was having a grand life playing football and being himself, a real jack the lad personality. I don't think for a second he realized he could go up a gear as he always did well enough. He really needed to go to a top club with a good coach, manager who demanded more from him, who showed him what he was capable of.

    In the last 11 years or so, he's managed Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory, Ozzie National team, some Japanese team who've only been a team for 20 minutes and Celtic. What on earth in that CV gives you the impression that he could manage an EPL team back to glory?!

    Di Canio at Celtic was proper filthy. His best years at 27-28. As a rangers fan you just knew him and Larsson were different class. We had awesome players then too and won the league in the two seasons he was there. With the likes of Gascoigne, Laudrup, McCoist, Bjorklund, Goram, Gough, Albertz, T Steven etc One of the last seasons Scottish football could compete with the very best. But what a player. ps Joe Cole late to the game at 11 was the norm back then. Most players were around that age when they start playing 11-a-side. He was kicking a ball about with his mates for at least 4-5 years before his first 11-a-side. Under 12's were around the lowest age grooup teams back then. Not like today where you are training at 6-7-8 with pro teams.

    Mourinho ruined several skillful individual players over his career. Did the same to Duff.... Duff used to run by everyone for Blackburn and for Ireland. I remember(as an Irish fan) sadly watching Mou coach a lot of that out of him at Chelsea. At least Duff was effective under Mourinho even if less individual and spectacular. Cole went the other way. Mou completely destroyed Coles confidence IMO & he never really recovered/fulfilled they hype.
