Even the dog is in line with Keane, walking calmly along by his side. It's well trained and obedient. Says a lot about Keane's character and the importance he places on discipline. Not many players like him in modern football.
Not much discipline when he was crunching the opposition.....such a short memory some people.
@@habu179 a lack of discipline means being unable to do what should be done as a result of mental weakness. Now listen, I'm no Man Utd fan, but Keane was as disciplined as they come when he stepped out onto the pitch. Crunching people, I know, albeit dirty tactics, was premeditated and intentional. Keane was fully in control of what he was doing out there.
@@TheLittlegoaty Can't let your emotions usurp facts....maybe you misunderstood the 'crunching' bit ?
@@habu179 what emotion? I'm not biased, not a Man Utd fan, just think Keane was all-in on match day, which is what a professional footballer should be. Yes, explain your version of "crunching" please.
@@TheLittlegoaty Fouling....stop being stupid over this issue. He was one of the dirtiest players in the game. Please be serious or clear off.

More genuine than most people anywhere these days.
@Crixus2016 did you forget Haaland stood over Keane taking the piss when he suffered an almost career ending injury? fuck that guy
@Crixus2016 because he did a dirty tackle? Never even ruined haalands career. Haaland seemed to be a bit of a prick slabbering to keane when he done his cruciate against leeds.
@Crixus2016 You don't belong near a competitive sport lad. Roy Keane is the greatest captain this league has ever seen. There is no player in the premier League who gets the arm band over him. Not one.
He didn't get that reputation by being a nasty piece of work. He got it by being a possessed machine who led by example as a professional and raised the game of every single man who played with him!!!
@Crixus2016 just shows you how honest he is
Roy’s dog: “Toys Gary?, do me a favour. Seriously?”
He should be playing with toys...its his job.

When he talks about the way people speak down to you. That really hit home, literally the only person I’ll ever allow to speak a certain way to me is my Dad. Same as Roy said!
Hands down, the best interview I have seen and enjoyed watching; EVER. Roy completely transparent, honest and relaxed as he walked the dog. As a fly in the woods, I learnt more about the man, from the man himself, rather than the press. He has a clear vision of ethics and standards to which he holds himself to account and is frustrated by those who are not so committed and set their bar so low. Who wouldn't be!! What a guy. Great respect. Thanks Gary for bringing that to us.

Roy Keane is so hilarious without even trying, brilliant interview
I've watched a few of these 'The Overlap' programmes now and realised that Gary Neville is an absolutely brilliant interviewer. He easily makes the interviewee relax and open up to him - great to to see genuine conversations and not the scripted stuff we usually get.
It does help that Roy is retired. Whereas when you're still a player you have to kind of watch what you say in some areas possibly due to sponsorship deals, or getting on the wrong side of people at the club etc..
I completely second that!! I really enjoyed seeing a completely different and unexpected ‘human’ side to RK. I’m not a huge football fan but appreciate Gary as an interviewer as never before.

That is a great shout alright.
Family honour is becoming nonexistent because people realised that just because you’re related to someone, doesn’t mean you need to let them walk all over you. Whether it’s your mother, father, brother, sister etc. If I won’t let a random man on the street talk down to me, I won’t let my father do it either simply because we share blood.
Correct, it’s so rare to see a good normal man that everyday people can relate to in football
@@Gino565 everything okay at home there pal??..keane refers to his father in a sense of a 'role model', 'provider' and 'protector of his own family',he obviously took comfort and trust in his Father and if he ever spoke down it would usauly be either he had his sons respect and words were used instead of a firm hand or he was acting the maggot and rather than raise aggro levels, he would say something sharp and silver tounged to make his son see his ways through sudden realisation,he also knew he raised his kids good and proper who wont scream and cry because daddy name shamed them, that's a good parent instilling character into their kids, it just so happens that his father shares the same blood I suppose if that's anything to warrant your arguement, either way it sounds like he had a much more respect and trust in his folks than you did, your personal views regarding your personal situation at home bears nothing to the rest of us
@@johnnysheridan You aren’t too bright are you? You’re saying that simply because someone is your family, they have the right to be disrespectful to you throughout your life? Not everyone is a pushover like you seem to be. Being related to someone doesn’t make them an inherently good person to be around. They could be terrible people, or you might just not get along. Being family isn’t an excuse for negative behaviour, and if you’re suggesting otherwise then I have to ask you if everything is alright at home? It’s not a matter of respect, it’s about knowing your self worth and not letting people disrespect you, make you uncomfortable, or harm you just because you happen to be related. Not hard to understand.

Great professional and gave everything.
He was a very poor manager at Ipswich. Couldn’t motivate, bullied certain players, fell out with them, ended up hated. You can tell from his answers to questions about being late he doesn’t have the ability to put his arm round a player and adapt his style. He was a bad manager. Forget his charisma forget his ability as a player. He was a poor manager and he spent millions at Ipswich and was at a decent club that could have been a good platform for him.
