I disagree I tried NFuse and compared it to other bus compressors and softube’s bus processor, it ate transients even by engaging it. It did not sound good at all to me. I have tape face but don’t use it that much. Distinct pro had to be emulation of overstayer mas but i compared it to softube overstayer mas and listened to hardware overstayer mas it doesn’t sound and behave like hardware. There are some problems with kiive that i dislike… Maybe it works for some people not for me.
@@spinlightstudiosI checked out this compressor and compared it to softube’s. I found the tone of kc 1 better compared to cl1b. And oversampling does effect oc. I wonder how close it is to hardware🤔
I was happy to see a CL1B alternative, but once I tested it I was over the moon. This and the Pulsar P11 Abyss are the only 2 plugin compressors I’ve tried that really nail the transient response of analog compressors. So glad it’s getting this good!
I'm happy to see Kiive release this, I have the softube version and if there's a "secret sauce" compressor out there, it's this one. Pop it on vocals and it just jumps forward in the mix. Can't wait to try it against the Softube version later, after Nfuse I became a huge fan of Kiive's plugins. Great video, great plugin!
SOLD !!! Lol. Another great vid, Rhys. Bought it. Added to Drum Bus and Bass Bus. Love this plugin already. It just replaced the Softube Bus Comp that I've been using on my Drum Bus. As a newb, I struggle to hear the 'character' of certain compressors that pros talk about. Not with this one (or the Distressor). I love the smack and aggression I'm getting out of it on drums. I wonder how many Spinlight subscribers have bought Kiive plugins from your demos alone. I've purchased 5.
comparisons would be a great addition to your channels. Here it would be other Opto compressors like Softube Tubetech, UAD Tubetech as well as other LA2A such as Slate, Brainworks
Solid video, despite the confusing (and click-bait-y) title. For those curious, it's based off the Tube-Tech CL1B hardware, not the "blue Softube compressor," which some people online seem to think. XD
Yeah that’s right man, the CL1b. I would disagree about the click bait title, just think it’s another awesome option as an Opto compressor to replace the standard la2a!
@@spinlightstudios I understand working the algorithm with the phrasing, but in this day of the-next-best-thing around every corner, the "Is this the ______ killer?!" is at best tiresome and at worst misleading, as though I can safely toss my other optos out the digital window once I've grabbed this. I'm not coming at you claiming intent, mine was a manifestation of the loathing I have for YT's general hyper-focus on marketing over genuine information. That said, the ADC1 and FilkChannel are no-brainer go-to's in my arsenal, and I just grabbed the Distinct Pro recently, so I already know I want this-I mean, it's Kiive-I just thought I'd check it out before grabbing the trial. Again, solid video.
Nice There goes my electric bill money. I just bought the Softube Blue Tone which is their emulation of the C1b which sounds great on my vocals. I wonder how this compares to that
Softube Tone sounds a little better, more open Softube Tone and DDMF Magic Death Eye (Mono) pretty much smokes this...LOL it seems very skimpy of the stereo image of this plugin being "Wide Enough" thats the mistake they made, Tone and Death Eye sound VERY OPEN
Hmm I’d have to experiment, Opto is not my usual go to for metal style drums - maybe not on the drum bus. I like Opto on kick and snare though in most situations!
Thanks for watching guys, hope you enjoyed the video!
Nice one mate! All audio products that Kiive puts out are top-notch. Love that example on bass!
Thanks Edward, yeah they are crushing it! Never disappoints! And this one is a very nice addition, definitely does that CL1B thing!

@@yigit_kuru fair enough man, I think sometimes we just like what we like and dislike what we dislike haha
@@spinlightstudios Yess. The end result it what matters anyway.

Thanks mate, yeah the cl1b is such a vibe. Was very happy when kiive sent it over!

That’s so cool man! It’s got a lot of flavour this one! And very cool on the drums, instant beef!

Love all the Kiive audio stuff. Very nice and great value I feel.
I agree man, they are just getting better and better!
LOVE what it's doing to those drums
Great video 👌🏼
Thank you for sharing. Keep up with the great work mate.
Thanks legend!
:o the CL1B sound
That’s it!
I really love it on everything you’ve put it on
Thanks mate, it just works hey!
fantastic that drum bus was killer!
Thanks Matthew! Yeah those drums are so phattt haha
It's one of the best I've heard !
It’s good!
Sounds really good, need to check this out soon
Thanks man, they’ve done a good job with it!

wow this thing sounds good
It’s beautiful!
Jeez there goes my kids medical bill fund
Haha you don’t need your health when you have awesome plugins 😂

😂😂 you might need that to power up your computer to use the plugin 😅
Blue Tone is actually based on the SMC 2B multiband compressor
Softube Tone sounds a little better, more open

kiive should do a 1073 next! wow
That could be cool for sure
Another great review, Rhys - thanks!
Thanks Brad 😄

Sidechain. Cool a lot of older emulations don't have this setting
Definitely handy!
Dam that's nice. Not sure if I missed it, is it based off the same as the softube cl1b ?
I think that’s the idea, definitely sounds like it to me!
What's the vocal chain? What mic and preamp is used for vocals?
Ooo it was a while back now I recorded this. I’d say warm audio WA251 into a great river preamp
What are your go-to settings for drums? I mean for hard rock our metal? 😢
Hmm I’d have to experiment, Opto is not my usual go to for metal style drums - maybe not on the drum bus. I like Opto on kick and snare though in most situations!
Nice! Here goes my kids student fund...
Hahaha eh they can just learn everything on UA-cam these days anyway 😂
Kiive sent me here.
Thanks for stopping by!
Τhe drums are real?
Yep, that’s me on the kit, there is a snare sample in the mix too
No please don't do this to me.. 🙏🏼😭 I just bought the Vac Attack.
😂😂 💸💸💸
It’s fantas
