I’m not even half way into the video, but I am so happy you touched on your issues with certain plot points and character arcs! I agreed with just about all of your points like Kirumi, the undeserved hatred of Angie, case 3’s killer, and how it was too obvious Kaito wasn’t dead.

I feel the point of V3 was to try and be a good game while also purposefully emanating that feeling of franchise fatigue to better foreshadow the game's end twist. In that sense, it's a stroke of genius, depite the rough execution. I think that goes over so many people's heads

It kinda unfortunately gave people like me no incentive to play the game upon hearing this. Why waste time when everything prior is dismissed in what can only be described as a retcon bomb?
I can see what people potentially enjoy with the series. I am pretty much alienated from wanting to play it myself and have just accepted that fact.

2:00:36 : bro really said that casually.
Btw, good critique on the game. But honestly, i'm not really a nitpicking guy, without really overlooking all the issues you pointed out. I really enjoyed the game despite the plot holes and everything.
And honestly, i didn't find a single trial boring.
I accepted the ending how it is, but i'm convinced we are never getting a new danganronpa game because of that.

I agree with all the stuff about Miu's inventions, but I'm going to try to defend it for fun with a wall of incomplete thoughts:
The fact that Kokichi had the Exisals watch Monokuma, and used an Electrobomb before discussing his plan with Kaito, proves he at least had a suspicion about the existance of Nanokumas, or some means of surveillance. Super Genius Kokichi asking Miu to make these inventions wasn't out of nowhere, he clearly believed Gonta was on to something. I mean, HE NAMED the invention the "Bugvac." This is not "Kokichi somehow knowing these inventions would be useful", he knew exactly how useful the inventions would be if he was correct.
When you search Kokichi's room, you find tons of boxes full of blueprints, most of which "seem impossible to create" as Maki observed. Shuichi proposed the idea that he could have created fake blueprints to mask the real ones he intended for Miu to make. Shuichi then says, "It's nearly impossible to check all of them...lowering the chance *someone* would find it." The word "someone" being highlighted.
Could Kokichi have discreetly given Miu the blueprints, or did he just do it openly and it was all caught on camera? Maybe it's that since creating invention(s) to explore the school and discover the secret 6th Monokub isn't against the rules, they didn't bother to step in. Kinda like how Monokuma allowed Chihiro to use his talent to access information as a "reward" of sorts for the effort? OR, perhaps the Nanokubs, and by extension Motherkuma, and by extension extension Tsumugi, couldn't tell what the fuck Kokichi's chicken scratch blueprints were meant for, or maybe they looked at the Bugvac and was like "what the fuck is that"? I mean really, show the Bugvac to anyone who doesn't know and ask them what they think the invention's function is or what its purpose is.

Actually a really valid point. Chapter 5 was not my strongest section in this video, so I'm glad you found a hole in some of the logic. The sheer amount of conviencies in this section of the game caused me to be a bit cynical and not pay *full* attention to some of the valid reasoning the game may have gave me for what was happening in the plot. Miu's inventions are just so absurd I guess I also sort of turned my brain off to some degree LOL.

oh he was definitely being genuine. At some point in the trial he asked if its possible for two people to be executed. I think monokuma said something along the lines of as long as the blackened is voted for, sure. I actually voted for kokichi to see if this would happen.
But yeah, i believe he was being serious. Gonta was the only person he had any genuine respect for because he was always truthful as opposed to kokichi's own nature. Even externally in the UTDP, he has those feelings

Gotta defend Tsumugi here, but otherwise i agree with everything you mentioned so far, especially happy someone else has the same disdain for ch2 as me.
But anyways, ch6 Tsumugi hits way harder for those rare people who actually enjoyed her fake persona in ch1-5. I maxed out her friendship before anyone else 😂 Also I metagamed a little too much and thought she was going to be another Sonia Nevermind, who does nothing the whole game. I felt like it would be more obvious for her to be the mastermind so i got hit with the twist right at the end after they started discussing her going to the bathroom back in ch1.
I never liked Junko Enoshima, specifically becaue i like to place myself in the villain's shoes. And Junko only cares about feeling despair, its really hard to get in the head of someone like that.
Tsumugi is different though, and honestly a breath of fresh air. This is someone we can all relate to on some level, she is the ultimate Danganronpa fangirl, her motivation and desire is for her most beloved entertainment to spread across the whole world. She is just like us fans, who enjoy letting others experience these games for the first time. We love seeing the same reactions in real life that she does showing this game to as many people in the world.
Thats why i love her as a villian, her motivation is so relatable, in her case, its way beyond the pale as these are actual people she's mentally torturing into killing each other.
Also just my personal subjective opinion, i just love her VA, while it might be a bit over the top for others i agree, but for me, I've gotten used to high pitched airy voices in Japanese Dubs and kind of think it's novel and endearing now hearing it in english. Dorothy Fahn is wonderful.

Amazing video, my dude. You actually gave me some new perspective into the game. I think I like it more now. Actually, from my own perspective, I sort of like to think of V3 as its own thing. A parallel Danganronpa world, and when I think about it that way, I quite like it. That's me inserting my own canon a bit though.

When I first started making the video I never thought I'd somehow like the game more. And you know what? I'm glad you also feel the same way!

the things is the 3rd motive could have worked and been good unlike the useless joke it was. especally if it was used to bring Kaede back and then for each chapter after she is back we could choose to play as Shuichi or Kaede ( and see how she reacts to what happened when she was gone) when we got to chapter 6 Tsumugi could have joke about how it could be done eg how it would have been easy to faked her death as their a reason those executed by hanging where left to hang for a bit even after they looked dead but why would they waste the time to do so when they had a body double ready to go aka Kaede twin sister who they could just flashback light into her ( even have Kaede remark when they find the file about her twin that she doesn't have a sister) as even if Kaede Akamatsu ultimate pianist doesn't have a sister Kaede Akamatsu danganronpa fan did
Miu targeted Kokichi as they dislike each other and she was smart enought to know that he and Shuichi are the main threats in the trial's. also i knew Gonta was the killer in that case real fast just because the big strong character dies in chapter 4 and as he wasn't the victum it meant he had to be the killer :P didn't mean the case wasn't great though
for chapter 6 i think it should not have shown that the character lived the hints K1BO give is enought

Still the best game in the series. I feel like after chapter 4 the whole plot just falls apart and they literally throw the whole plot in your face which ends with a mediocre ending.

I feel like it SHOULD be the best game in the series but falls just short of that. Sad, because this game does most things better than it's predecessors.

@@MoneyFolder Just watched the whole intermission side of the video and i 100% agree with everything you said especially with the music segment. Solar is hands down the best song in the series though in the V3 is just gets updated from a mono to a stereo and with some reverb. Also forgot to say amazing video!

I always figured that a lot of the weird stuff with the Danganronpa-isms, while they can be really dumb, were settled on to somewhat lampshade the fact that it's the V3rd time stuff has had to be thought up in the game's canon. It would have been better if all the motives made full sense but, even though on the way through I was mixed on things, by the end a lot of the weirdness resolved itself into "oh, okay, I get it" in my mind. A lot of it's really silly but it was pretty unpredictable at least.
I do wonder what the in-universe "script writing" for the series even works. "What haven't we done? Incest as a motive? _Brilliant!_ Get it done!"

Imo, the culprit for the 3rd trial was very interesting. I liked that he was so obviously unsympathetic. Not every killer NEEDS to be sympathetic, imo. The same reason who I liked the 2nd culprit, even tho she is kinda sympathetic. But I agree that he wasn't the best written
