I didn't know about the fly while tying this one, thanks for letting me know! Funny how that works, I somehow copied a fly I didn't know existed. That's how all flies work. How many "Drunk and Disorderly" are out there under different names. Is every variation of game changer a Blane Chocklett fly? Is a peanut envy not 2 wooly buggers tied together!?! Is a sex dungeon not a peanut envy with a different head!?! The only reason I even name flies is for YT videos. At least that's how I think about stuff.
@@theeverydayangler Yeah, there's only so many combinations you can come up with before you're copying someone else. I did the same thing when I first started with a bendback. Thought I was a genius.
@@paladin7284 I guess my point is that it's not copying. If y'all u tie your own variation of a fly that's your fly. I mean to you is all that matters. Now once you start making claims on Social Media and stuff than yeah, but I don't think I've ever claimed an "original" pattern. Or at least I try not to lol 🤣
Sorry, but the "Double Ugly" name was used on a Green River fly back in the 1980's. My friends Double Renegade variation I named the "Double Ugly" because it was essentially a hybrid of the Grey Ugly and the Double Renegade. It's still a popular dry/wet fly in Utah and also has many variations in sizes #20 to #4.
Well I'm sure noone down here in the southeast has ever heard of that fly and this is a bass fly, that was also probably 40 years ago. Thanks for the info though, never knew.

Very nicely done.

Can i use any wire for the trailer hook?
Yes, the stiffer the wire the less action but obviously stronger.
👍🏼
