Bought this guy’s patches for the Argon8, really good stuff!
Sometimes the Prophet 12 (I own 2 units) reminds me of the Elka Synthex, no joke. Maybe it's the beautiful clean raw oscillator sound plus the brilliant '80s styled elastic analog filters that make it shine that way.
this thing can really nail that old school hybrid sound, love it.
Those are some great sounding patches. Some of them has that 80's vibe I love. Great sounding synth. I own a Pro2 and I think these are underrated synths.
This is a gorgeous collection of beautiful sounds! I have to buy me a copy for my Prophet 12 LE!
Stunning patches!!! This synth is a future classic.
simply amazing demo. Demo should come with a disclaimer of dangerous level of GAS
Haha thanks
I’m greatful that there are those still making very well thought out and useful patches for this synth. I’ll take all that I can find and make use for them, as I’m not such a good programmer but more so a tweaker. I’ve kept my P12, and won’t give it up despite all the new offerings from D Smith and Sequential. My order for these wil be coming shortly. However, I’m not sure what the PayPal fee will be in US $. Nonetheless the cost is more than reasonable and I’ll be sure to add much more than the fee fore support. Cheers and kudos to Alphacode !!
Thank you David, patches sent enjoy !
Agreed, some great sounds. Didn’t expect this, but the similarities to Summit/Peak are striking (on some patches). Very cool. Thanks!
Agreed. I own both Summit and P12 and I would say they sound complementary... 🙂
@@sK3LeTvM1 Would you say the P12 has perhaps a generally brighter sound, compared to the Summit? Thanks
@@kierenmoore3236 Mmm, rather difficult. I have the Summit and the P12, and both synths are equal in sound quality, but in a different way. Both are imho superior machines. But as a first choice, I would advice the Summit.
wow i just watched a bunch of your videos and this beast seems to be the most unique and one of the most powerful....great patches!!!
This is THE synth I wish I had, but they don't make em anymore.
I wish Dave Smith would make this synth again, it sounds warm and glassy and can produce rich & sophisticated tones 🎹☕
You can still buy the desktop :)
Brand new desktops are still available!
I know about the desktop but I'm not a fan of desktop modules, its not the same feeling as having the complete 61 keys keyboard, with wooden ends and all the dedicated knobs, I still hope someday Dave will come out with a Prophet 12 rev-2, just like he did with the P08.
Maybe it's just me.🙄🎹☕
And the velocity sensitivity keyboard with after touch. :). I understand. I decided years ago, that I liked the Novation Nova that I got, but also longed for the Supernova II. It probably took at least 1 to 2 years, checking eBay, then one day found one and finally was able to buy one - a 48 voice Pro version! I had tried bidding on a few different ones over this 1 to 2 years, before I finally got mine. Do hold out for what you want, but I still kept the Nova even after getting the Supernova II. Sooooo. I would say get what you can for the moment, but continue searching for what you really want! :). Best of luck!
Me too..
Just picked up the P12 Module (love the shrunken form-factor of the module. Quite a bit more compact than any other DSI/Sequential polysynth module). Such a weird and fantastic synth. Ahead of its time with an incredible amount of potential. Definitely needs its own dedicated reverb pedal on outboard or Valhalla in a DAW to really get the most out of it but wow. However, this really is a case where the factory patches do not do this synth justice and you have shored up that shortcoming nicely with these. Into the cart you go.
Wow, some really nice sounds, again! I will have to find space to load them...
Just purchased . Will load soon but that sound great. Cheers
Beautiful!!! I love my P12 too!!!!
Heard this sound on various soundtracks now it finally clicks what synth it was.
Cliff Martinez surely is rocking a prophet 12, it’s got to be.
I mean sure there’s plenty of 80’s synths that sound similar but this just has a certain je ne sais quoi.
A bit of modern magic I guess.
Lovely sounds, I will grab these today!!
Beautiful
A synth out of the box.
Fantastic patches 👍 good job !
These are great!
Magical synthesizer !!!
Even with the Summit and Hydrasynth, the Prophet 12 makes me think: "What other hardware polysynth has this massive sonic palette?"
The Virus Ti2.
@@PacificIslandDrive 100%
the p12 has the most modulation capabilities of any not purely digital hardware. plus all the other things that shape the sound!
Waldorf Q is one of the few synths to surpass it in terms of raw power, sonic palette and hands on programmability, but they are pretty rare.
1:36 wowzers
I'm not in 'electronic music' for 'pure ambient'... (I must confess)
Your bank is a useful source of inspiration for any kind of synth-based music genre...
Personally, I like the industrial/gothic flavours with which you have spiced this bank...
Well spent money and waiting for a future second one...
Cheers...!
Wish I had half the programming skills of Alphacode lol
Goods patches ;-)
Really different sounding than my Poly Evolver rack. This one is more on the digital side due to its DSP oscillators.
Sounds like they are coming from a VHS tape :)
OK so I have mine put away, your patches were a deciding factor in me buying one.
This is a very underrated synth imo, it does bread and butter but goes beyond that too.
So looking at the LED for voicing, there is upper and lower, so I take it when you're playing stacked, upper is 1 patch and lower is the other?
I see you have an arp going in 1 patch then playing the keyboard, so arp is upper LED row then keyboard lower.
I am getting the module as don't need another keyboard, not just yet.
Thanks for the upload and your hard work.
nice sounds
You did a great job. I am thinking of selling mine, I just can't seem to make really nice sounding patches. No matter what, it always seems to sound distorted (and this is even after turning oscillator volumes down). Maybe my unit is old and just doesn't sound as good as newer versions of it... I dunno. Or I just suck, hahahaha.
Try to put Osc Volume at 40-60,
Osc Slop 10-14
Drive around 20, Grith 60-80, Air 10-20, Amp Env Amt 60-80, Amp Vel Amt 10-20 … then it sounds really nice for me.
Great great job. I'm going to buy the pack this weekend. Really appreciate your work. Do you happen to have some tutorials on prophet 12? I would buy it too. I'm very unexperienced in synthesis but have the prophet
Thank you , no tutorial at the moment but i just got new cameras that will help me do exactely that so stay tuned ! :)
rip Dave Smith
You havw great ideas shit gaha
Just PayPal you for the patches!
I always want this for the workflow and features, but I never connect with the sound and I’ve listened to *soooo* many demos. It always just sounds plastic to me. Wish I loved it. The best patch here was probably “Demonic”.
Same here. I still have my P12, but don't play it too much anymore. I prefer the Peak, in terms of sound and user interface. I always wanted the P12 to be my go to synth, but I didn't jive with the sound.
got eet
Can’t wait to see Sequential’s successor to this.
Arguably the Prophet X
@@henryhill92 I’ve seen that suggested but I think the PX is it’s own thing.
COOL
Patch "Typical Analogue" is Superb. There's also for Polybrute?
I want it now lol
Wow... I ... had no idea these sounded quite so good! I mean... I knew Sequential's stuff was decent, and I usually enjoy the demos well enough (for a long time I wanted to buy a Pro 2), but I'd never really listened to one of the 12 because of it's astronomical cost.
But this sounds nothing like a Rev 2!
I guess you get what you pay for. :S
Nice demo! ....Did you buy it, or is this a loaner?
Traded it for another synthesizer and never regretted it !
@@alphacodesynth you traded the Prophet 12? What is it you didn’t like? I am considering one. Thanks
@@larsuk9578 no i traded another synth for the prophet. Love the prophet
@@alphacodesynth ha ok thanks. And how’s the Keybed? I read many complaints about the Keybed quality on these...
@@alphacodesynth which one? ;-) Summit or Prologue?
You really make it sing! How do you compare it to the peak/summit? I have a p12 and looking at the summit not sure on the overlap? my small gripe with the 12 is the fm can be a little dull sounding but one of my fav boards because of the range of sounds you can get out of it
I have both and they are very different. :)
For sure, the oscillators on the Summit have way more waveforms, and also higher resolution. Personally I like the filters on the SUmmit better, though they arent especially characterful compared to many other analog filters. Some call them bland, and i sort of agree. i like them, but dont expect to get Korg sounds out of it. The tuned feedback on the 12 goes beyond what the gain staging and drive can do on the summit.
Hi, great patches, which OS version of the P-12 do we need ? Greetz,
Thank you, the latest version :)
Alphacode, did you end up keeping either this or the PRO2?
1:09 Almost "Sex Dwarf"
best patches for p12 ❤ how did you create sequenced patches, as p12 do not have an onboard sequencer ?😊
Kind of does , through the arpeggiator :)
@@alphacodesynth just bought a p12 yesterday, should get it next week. will buy your patches!
How? @@alphacodesynth
nice sounding - whats your processing chain if I may ask? there is some nice weight and presence - nice patches as well, i dont own one of these but would like to, good to hear them put to good use
Straight into a Focusrite soundcard :)
oh nice one, sounds great - i only have a Pro2 to compare it to, sounds more powerful than i thought it would. Unison doing work? or is the sound somehow bigger? interesting nonetheless
che differenze ci sono col nuovo prophet 10?
molto diverso, p12 è per metà digitale
@@alphacodesynth aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh..!! Allora forse diciamo che, per una questione di purezza analogica, per me sarebbe più indicato il Prophet-10. Difatti costa circa il doppio.
prophet 6 or prophet 12?
For me p12 is more versatile, feels more premium etc..
@@alphacodesynth can you make a way to sound like prophet 6 from prophet 12?
@@dawizvrd yes you should be.

Do you know if its possible to recover a lost/override patch? Thanks
@@futurebeats898 Not possible , lost forever i'm afraid unless you backed them up
@@alphacodesynth ok lol.. I'll learn from the mistake
Thanks a lot!
And by any chances?.. Do you know if there's a way to get sine wav as lfo? I only have triangle and others.. Thanks again 👍
@@futurebeats898 Yes... but you must sacrifice 1 oscillator... not a big issue when you still have 3 and the subosc...
Anyways, best option is to use the Slew feature to smooth the triangle wave... I suppose it would mimic the sine behaviour when modulating any destination...
Zuper!
Now I got to buy a Prophet 12 lol!
Exactly !
just bought it
Your patches are next level... Fantastic
Do the patches come with a file for each bank? so I can load it into the bank I want?
Currently by default its Bank A , you can load it anywhere with a librairian though. If you buy the bank and tell me which bank number you want it into i can spend some time copying all patches manually to that bank for you want and send you the file. Thx
Синтпоп хорошо получился бы на этом синтезаторе.
