That's just verifiably false, though. Grass still grows in the summer, especially if watering. If it's growing it's using nutrients and can be fertilized. Lower rates for sure as pushing growth isn't the answer. But to say don't fertilize under any circumstance in the summer is just not good advice.
Is the seed sitting in the sand? If so, you will need to water very very frequently. Also, bent is around 10 days for germination so no need to panic just yet.
That's the recommended rate for greens height bent. So I just do it for the whole practice facility for ease of application. Works quite well. I do up to a half ounce on my longer cut grass. GDD intervals are also different at the two heights. Try to stay around 200-250 on the green and 400 or so on the rest of the yard based on 0C.
Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense. I have 3/4” kbg. I find about 225 gdd works very well also. When it gets warmer in the summer I find I can extend that closer to 300 or so.
Yup. And that seems like a good rate for that mow height. There's only research and data on tnex on bent greens. Everything else in terms of GDD interval is all going to be your feel or tracking clipping volume if you're an actual lunatic.
There was a bit of trial and error involved. I don’t bother with clipping yield, I just eyeball the length of the clippings that end up on the sidewalk. I do yard work on the weekend and on Wednesday, so I made a phone reminder and update the cumulative gdd when I apply. Then I just wait until it’s about 225 higher.
@@JasonSeiberlich I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I just did some regular sevin from Lowes because ant mounds are also an issue. I'll get the 3336F as well. It sounds promising.
Glad you are recovering well, thanks for the coverage, I’m in Minnesota so it’s nice to see a lawn/green similar to my climate
Thank you.
The lawn is already starting to look better. Now if only we could get a few more soaking rains and I think business would resume as normal
Not looking like it's going to happen. Starting to water even more aggressively.
good work brother 👏. same here lack of rain in west Chicago suburbs.only water the front yard
Best of luck
Only .20 inches of rain at my house in 5wks......so dry in Southern Wisconsin
It's brutal out here.
Water water water. You must 💦 water.
Do not fertilize.
@@mrBDeye if we're watering why worry about fertilizing. Like, sure don't put a pound of N out but there's no reason to NOT fertilize.
@@JasonSeiberlich Reason is because lawn doesn’t need to be fed in the middle of summer. Just water it. The next time to feed is in fall season.

Planted my bentgrass 9 days ago, sand, light rake, watering keeping it wet, still no Germination 😢

@@JasonSeiberlich I leveled with sand and then spread the seed down and lightly raked and watered in. It’s been watered and kept wet everyday
Are you putting that grub ex on the green too?
Yup.
I’ve settled on .25 oz / 1000 on pgr but my first app is half that. Was this a half rate app for you or do you find that .125 works better for you?

Hey Jason, what are you doing to suppress the worm castings? They are becoming a huge issue on my green.

@@JasonSeiberlich are you using the 3336f as part of your fungicide rotation or just as a worm suppression with fungicide added benefits?
@@JasonSeiberlich 👍
Is that a vertcut cartridge or is that the scarifier cartridge? If its a verticut cartridge where did you find it?
Scarify.
What part of Minnesota?
Southeastern Wisconsin.
Socks with the sandals? Questionable
This is the way.
One step at a time for you and your lawn. Before you know it you both be off and running. ➡ 👍🏻💚🦸🏻♂
For sure. Thank you.
