It's definitely hard. Especially with a large family... our budget is about $500 for our family of 7 and my teen and preteens eat so much 😅. Lots of simple meals and not much meat, but we make due!

That's sounds like you are doing great with the budget! It can be so tough right now with some of the prices.

With prices increasing as they are we have had to forgo our usual organic options for non-organic. I just keep praying and thanking the Lord that He is our healer and protector and put our trust in Him. ❤

I need to evaluate our grocery budget too. I try to do Sam’s once per month for meat and that helps some, but prices are insane right now.

We’re reconfiguring ours as well and think it will have to go up too! You’d be doing great to get it at $800 for a family of 8!

Always a balance with groceries i like/need somw convience items and they help keep me from wanting to eat out. But its so expensive. We are at about 1000 for our family of 10.

I feel ya on having to give up on the organic things here and there. I used to eat only all organic and now. . .ehhhh cant really afford that route anymore! But, thankfully our garden helps a LOT!
And yea! Sometimes i have to remind myself, yes, these convenience items are a little more pricey, but - when I'm in a pinch, its either that or we have to eat out which is more expensive. So, those are nice to have as options!
Praying your procedure goes well! ❤️❤️

If you are willing I would love for you to share a video of meals you eat in a week. Our current grocery budget is $1,200 for a family of 7. I’m looking for ways to cut that down. I would to see some cheaper meal ideas.
    Thanks!

Eggs and cheese are your best friend. Especially from ALDIs. I make keto chaffle sandwiches and buy ground beef from a local butcher in my area. Comes out to right under $3 for the burger diy.
Unfortunately, that is considered inexpensive these days because inflation is so high.
Sometimes I feel like going back to live in my parents country. I can eat like a king on $5 a day over there… 2-3 meals eatting out

I spend that on 2 people but that’s everything good and non food per month and my son takes his lunch to school and I take mine to work

I don’t know where in your budget stuff like paper towels and toilet paper and cleaning supplies are, but I personally would buy a year’s worth in one go. Of course you need a place to store it all, but if planned out right you’ll have a better use of your money. Me, I don’t drive but I have half a closet full of toilet paper and paper towels. Nearly ran out during that first lockdown. Never EVER again. 😉 For rice, do you have any ethnic grocery stores near you? Check out their prices. Especially Latin/mexican and India Indian stores.?those two cultures eat tons of rice.

It’s definitely a balance of what’s most important to spend extra money on and sticking to the budget. Thinking I might have to stop doing delivery and actually spend that saved money shopping IRL 😱😂

In Canada for a family of 7 (and I operate a day home) my grocery bill is around $1200 USD a month…I have no idea how you’d do it for $800…

That is definitely something we've talked about doing one night. I just can't believe how big the bag is! LOL I had no idea it came with so many.

Ugh I spent twice that much on groceries last month for my family of 6 in California 😟 😥 Prices are ridiculous and it's making it impossible to save for anything extra.

Oh man! That's so tough! I'm definitely having to make concessions on something we would normally buy. Its definitely making me look forward to gardening season.

I'm trying my best to get our budget down. We used to keep it under $800 and that has definitely gotten almost impossible.

If you can let me know what county/state you're in, I can help give you some numbers to try for your food budget. If you don't want to share that here I understand and I can email you instead.
I've been budgeting for years so I like to figure things out like this.
