My dad and I used to wake up at 5:30am to head to the gym and do Insanity together. Although he's my dad, we're complete opposites, and never spent much time doing anything together. Appreciate you @Shaun T for putting those tapes together, and giving me and my pops a reason to spend time together. It's great to see that you're doing well, and I wish the both of you all the success in the world - whatever that means to you.

Thank you so much for another great video. I completely agree on people thinking we’re lying about our trauma and abuse. I joke a lot about it now and people are always so stunned. Humor helped me heal.

I listened to this podcast on Spotify but came all the way to UA-cam just to comment and thank you both for this episode!! 😭❤️❤️ especially when talking about having kids and being triggered by normal interactions as a parent but wanting to protect children from your own trauma!! I think it’s so easy to create shame in our future generation of children by not taking that step away and children picking up on our triggered reaction and then deciding what body parts are okay to say and which are not which turns into shame of their own body! All in all it was SUCH A HEALING EPISODE like 🤯🤯🤯 just was so healing!!
Did he mention anything about the aftermath? What happened to the stepdad? Did his mom ever know? Divorced? I feel like so much wasn’t mentioned.
Thank you for listening and coming here to share this super thoughtful comment Chelsea! I'm so glad it was healing for you!! Our triggers are a roadmap for our healing. Being aware of them and allowing ourselves to feel the emotions fueling them is essential and allows them to be released. And I totally agree - the more we heal the more we can protect our kids from our own trauma and the trauma they may experience/have experienced.

@@gilbertianrueda he didn’t but I don’t mind also I feel 9/10 there aren’t really any justice endings like that or resolutions in this world so I kind of more so focus on the internal journey of healing versus the punishment because a lot of times it just doesn’t happen!! Just my perspective!! ❤️
