In this episode of Scan My Brain, Fitness Instructor @shauntfitness visits Dr. Daniel Amen at Amen Clinics Orange County metro area to get his brain scanned. Shaun had experienced sexual abuse at a young age by someone very close to him, and the lingering effects on his mental health sparked curiosity to see what was going on in his brain. Dr. Amen shows Shaun how the trauma has manifested in his brain through his brain SPECT scans. Dr. Amen then gives Shaun practical tips for healing his brain and moving on past the trauma.

The goal of ending mental illness by creating a revolution in brain health can be accomplished overnight. All it would take is the most followed person on instagram to say a few words about his SPECT scan and you will have the whole world caring about brain health. Steve jobs put a iphone in the entire worlds hand by making technology sexy. Thats all you got to do, make the brain sexy. Thanks Shaun for doing this, great example of what courage looks like.

Sir thank you for telling your story. I want to hear more from you. you're the first person I've heard who describes themselves as feeling like they have Stockholm syndrome and loving their captor. I have said this to myself since I heard of the term at about 14 because it fit what I had experienced growing up. I think it must be common since that's what religion basically is- a Stockholm syndrome experience with an abusive imaginary person

I wish every elected government official, or even just every financially successful person, we could see their brain scan, because I bet a very small percentage of the population actually have a perfect brain scan at any given moment
