    I think that for me I wanted to fix others problems and didn’t realise that just sitting with them and listening was the better outcome.
    I defiantly demonstrated trying to help others as a coping mechanism, to counteract the trauma I experienced

    One of the problems with being a scapegoat in a narcissistic family is that our personality (sensitive, truth-telling) can lead us to be traumatised. Then following those traits leads us to the path of freedom away from the abuse. The trauma becomes interwoven into our story.

      Being sensitive and truth oriented leave most of us alone in life. Our friendships, especially adult friendships are not strong. First, traumatic bonding with family damages relating and bonding ability with others, secondly our sensitive and truth telling nature make other people keep distanced or stay away from us since most adults don't like the truth and someone questioning or expressing truth even if that was not directly critical of them.
