Alexis. I bought into this system yesterday. Sure am glad to find you in the start of my discbound system planning and journaling. Thanks for the extensive info here. Looking forward to more.
Excellent explanations. I'm new to the disc system and was looking for startup help. I went through several channels yours has helped me with learning the disc options and my choices . Thank you for a great video
Thank you so much for this video!! It so clearly sums up some very basic key things I needed more info on. Gets me feeling even more geeked out and excited about planners!! Really leaning towards switching from 3-ring to discs. Videos have pointed out multiple reasons to!
Awesome video! Just now really exploring the disc system and I am liking it more and more. I too like to fold my pages back like a spiral notebook. Great information, thank you for sharing
For hole punching, I just use a standard hole punch and use scissors to cut slits in the holes. Works for me. Right now I’m using a ring binder and a Happy Planner mini. I’m going to be checking into the Arc system. Thanks for sharing. Also, Happy Planner also has a skinny Happy Planner.
@@ruthjmhughes even here I think they are ridiculously expensive! Mine might not look like theirs, but it works for me. Glad you like the hack and thank you!
I did think of that too, but beyond a certain point, "time is money" especially if with children etc. I mean, we could punch paper for 3 or 4 hole ring binders using a single hole punch! By the time you mark the hole positions, etc, not sure it's worth it.
Very good information. I have been using the happy planner for 2 years now and I love it. I add pages to my planner like habit trackers, mood trackers, books read, weight/exercise tracker and budget.
Thanks Alexis for this very informative video. I've been using the disc bound system buy Tul since January 2020. It's the only planner I've been able to stick with. Great content!
this may be my FAVORITE walkthrough video from you, @Alexis. Wish I had this 2 years ago before diving into MAMBI. I have a love/hate with the proprietary sizing so I'm now slowly moving to half sheet/junior size. Thanks so much for this.
Thank you very much. This video was so helpful. I have been looking into getting a disc bound planner and was a bit confused but you cleared it all up. Going to check out your other videos. Again thank you. 🤗😊❤️
Thanks for explaining some different brands and elements. I switched back to a paper planner this year and at the time didn't realize disc bound existed. Thanks for the indepth about them.
@@MissTrenchcoat I started with Happy Planner since I love colors and pretty designs... but the Sunday start monthly calendars really throw me off. I started just printing my own inserts and building up a planner that worked for me - also a lot smaller sized for the last few months especially! I love that we can punch papers, add, rearrange and create any size notebook/planner with discs!
Found them too and love them, but the page sizes are a little different from ARC by Staples (a little higher and not so large). However it's no problem to fill the Talia or Eagle covers with pages of ARC by Staples ;)
Thanks for this video! I’m new to planners and bought the Happy Planner. I wish I had seen your video before my purchase, I would have definitely gone with another system. New Subbie 😄
Thank you, Muze Lab offers Pentacle disks that I thought looked Kool and I have been trying to figure out how these disks, that don't open, hold paper!
Hi, I am making my own pages and I am using legal sized paper, which I will fold to do 1 week on two pages. I am confused as to what size cover I should be using. Any advice would be welcome. Thank you.
I would really like to know where everybody’s getting the discount Wallet systems the one specifically designed for a6 size for the cash envelope, wallet system disband because I can’t seem to find them on happy planner or even Amazon
I have love/hate relationship with the disc bound system. Something I can’t get pass is archiving. How you do archive without just using disc to keep your planner together?
MochaMomPlans depending on how I need to access my archived pages, yes sometimes I use a set of cheaper plastic discs or I just use a binder clip to hold them together and store them away
Omg!!! I’ve been wanting to make my own planner for almost a year but couldn’t figure out how to make the cover. I just found your channel today. Thank you!!! Question: if I want to sell my planner is it ok to use the insert accessories (pockets, dividers, etc) from the other companies you listed?
6:58 The Arc “leather” covers are actually faux leather. If they were real leather they’d be much more expensive. Levenger offers many real leather cover options. Another discbound brand not mentioned here is Rollabind. I believe they were the original discbound notebook system on the market, originating that unique (at the time) binding style.
Thinking of switching to disc bound planner and this is the best video I have found! Thank you!
Yay! Thank you!

EXCELLENT and extremely helpful video. I needed this desperately as someone who is just BEGINNING her discbound planner journey. Thank you so much!!!
Very good introduction. Covers all the factors to think about . Good job.
This is the best basic disc-bound materials video I've watched (and man have I watched some!). Thank you!

Levenger makes discs that are larger 2” and 3” sizes for more pages.
Thanks I need a big one for my jurnal
Thanks - this was very clear, and step by step.

Best hack ever, thankyou! I'm thinking about trying a disc bound system but a hole punch would cost $50 - $80 to get in my country.

@@thejourney1369 what a good idea! I'll have to try that!

Joyce M. Washington I’m so glad you found this helpful!
Joyce - I hear that 100000%. I love A5 sizing and I’m a notebook fan, so flexibility is key.
This was the most comprehensive overview! Thank you!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I loved this video! Thanks for listening!

Hello. What is the standard distance between diecut and diecut of the mushroom shape holes?
I thought I knew it all, but I learned a bunch from your video today! Thank you!
Michele Cirrincione you are very welcome!
I wish I found your video sooner! Thank you so much for all that information. Very helpful for a beginner like myself. ♥️
There are also Talia Products and Eagle (found on Amazon), both of which are very inexpensive and great for getting started. :)

I agree with you on the punch selection I have had my ARC punch for at least 8 years
I'm soooo overwhelmed!
So much excellent information! Thank you! I learned so much from your video.
Though I’ve been using nag disc bound for awhile, I didn’t know about all of these shops. Thanks for sharing. I’m loving my master planner 😀
thejenternet I’m so glad to hear it! Feel free to send me an email and let me know how it’s going!! I love hearing from Master Planner users xoxo
Alexis aka MissTrenchcoat will do!
No mention of the Inkwell 360 discbound planner? Just got mine and I'm very happy with it.
Awesome! Even wonderful for a longtime Arc user!
I'm a big fan of the skinny mini personally
As of April 2023 tul has up to 4” discs. I have arc,tul and happy planner. Happy planners big is letter size
Such great info !!!
I’m deciding which planner will work best for me .
Very useful demo !

I just keep mine in a plastic sleeve, no discs 🤷🏽♀️
Rachel Rae' What kind of of sleeve?
I just started using TUL and plan to scan my pages to a flash drive, then shred the pages and recycle.
Doing my first course!
Hello 👋🏾. I didn’t catch where you got the clear planner cover.

What size are the discs?
Omg!!! I’ve been wanting to make my own planner for almost a year but couldn’t figure out how to make the cover. I just found your channel today.

Question: if I want to sell my planner is it ok to use the insert accessories (pockets, dividers, etc) from the other companies you listed?
Hi The HP Big is Letter size. 😁 Thanks great video.
Yep- I made sure the correct dimensions were listed on screen
Fabulous!

The product listing specifies Genuine leather cover material. I’m sure it’s not high quality but it can’t say genuine leather and be faux leather
@@MissTrenchcoat you’re right, I checked and was wrong about that part. Sorry!

So many recommendations for leather covers. :(.
Mona G Are you looking for leather covers or alternatives? Most of the brands I mentioned have many different options, take a look at what I linked.
Alexis aka MissTrenchcoat leather alternatives.
Mona G check out discagenda from dokibook that I linked- they do leather alternative covers
