Great design and info layout in Vetric. The problem I ran into when cutting on the machine was setting the Z height when second bit was inserted. The roughing pass lowered the material height so when the next bit was inserted and the Z=0 height was established it was based on the new top of the board. This was lower than what was set in the design so it cut in too deep. Lesson learned.
Awesome, thanks for coming over....Yes, i"m working on a couple of possible 3d cuts for the future, they take a lot longer to program, and i"m just trying to stay ahead of orders!!!...Thanks for watching!!
Brian, sometimes it is even more satisfying and educational watching how you program your project than it is watching the machine run. Thanks for this. Would love to see how you programmed the Jesus face on the cross.
Thank you SOO much for sharing this. I've been meaning to start playing with 3D modeling, but just never had the time because I assumed it was too hard. You make it look easy! Thanks for sharing!!
I really haven't messed with it much, the 3d stuff is a lot longer cutting...It's not to bad programming and in fairness, I was a computer science major in college.....Thanks for watching!!
On 3d stuff I generally zero the Z axis to a piece of wood the same thickness as I began with over to the side of the piece I'm working on, and the x and y i don't change...Thanks for watching!!
Thank you! But I have problem and can't resolve it, can you help? When I sweep I keep getting new component that is from rail to rail (bigger than flag), not just over the flag. How to get to be just on the flag?
Hmmm, I did a card I wonder if its just not popping up?...The channel is Spindle TV the guy is very knowledgeable the videos are long......Thanks for watching!!!
I really don't have any idea....I've messed with Fusion 360 a little (very little) and vcarve and aspire only...Sorry I'm not going to be much help on other software..I would however recommend looking at the forum, CNCZone, I get a lot of answers there.....Thanks for watching!!!
thanks for the video-- good work. Question: The field of stars does not appear to be even to me. The even number rows appear to be offset a bit to the right, or the odd numbered rows are offset to the left. Am I going blind? If my vision is OK, is this supposed to be offset?
If you're just wanting to get them straight for 2d, like you want to make a normal not wavy flag enter .585 under Row/Column where he did displacement of .75
Vectric Aspire version 9.516.....and sorry I can't sell it....Vectric.com....I started with Vcarve it does tons and more than enough for most cnc....Aspire upgrades it to where you can do 3d stuff like this flag...Thanks for watching!!
@@SmokeysCNCWoodworks Dang. I can't do deep cuts due to using BobsCNC. Usually have to do 0.025-0.05 depth per pass.. Made out of Balsa wood so it's not very rigid.
Hello great video. That sign i texted you about my last name can you put 2019 on it and how much would it cost to make it and shipping it to me im in South Carolina... What kind of wood be good for out in the weather all the time it would be mounted on the front of the light post in the front yard
Ok I'll add the year to your order, I haven't designed it yet, I'm working my way down my list to your order do you have a shape preference? and a rough size? as for woods...mmmm..cedar weathers pretty good, or maybe oak..anything put outdoors is going to have to be sealed one way or the other by paint or poly..once I cnc on the wood, the grain is open to the elements...so did you want it stained or painted?.....Thanks for watching!

So how did you do it differently then?
Where do you zero Z then if the whole thing was flatter after you changed bits?
Thanks.
Well done! Clear instructions! Thanks
Thank you and thanks for watching!!
Dutch sent me. I love this! I'm looking forward to watching more.

I'm actually doing another likeness of Jesus before long. Its not on a cross but it is the same process...Thanks for watching!!!
exactly the step by step info I needed, thank you.
Awesome!...Thanks for watching!!!
Hey! I am destined to pay for items like this because it is way beyond my computer capabilities! Love watching it 🤗
LoL thank you!!! It is a bit confusing if you don't know what your looking at...Thanks for watching!!!
very cool i will try this sometime using some scrap pine laying around..the cam programs are so damn powerful i just know the basics
You should give it a try, thanks for watching!!
This piece was fascinating to watch.
Thank you and Thanks for watching!!!

Great tutorial...thanks for sharing it...dumb question for CNC noob...where do you zero your Z height when you change bits?

Thats really cool, thank you for this tutorial! i think i can do this to simulate a paper with letters or so....i will test it!
That'll be cool.....Thanks for watching!!!
Very good video you do a fine job thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you and thanks for watching!!
Genius At Work!!! :-)
Lol i Dont know about genius....Thanks for watching!!
sorry i did not see the link to the guy you mentioned....very good video by the way
Hmmm, I did a card I wonder if its just not popping up?...The channel is Spindle TV the guy is very knowledgeable the videos are long......Thanks for watching!!!
Very cool! Do you know if it’s possible to program this on FeatureCams or SolidWorks? I don’t have access to aspire right now.
V/R

When the waves are added it makes them appear distorted, but when they cut they aren't on the flag....Thanks for watching!!

What version of software are you using and where did you get it or do you want to sell a copy LOL

Nice, what was your carve time?
You know I really don't remember right off the top of my head, I know it was close to 2 hours....Thanks for watching!!

is vectric aspire free software?
Umm no, this is actually a fairly expensive program....Thanks for watching!!
Where is that link??😂😂
Ummm....what was the link to?....Thanks for watching!!
I'm really sure you can build it yourself. I did this 2 weeks ago thanks to the Woodglut plans.
